When you check in at Camp Yachats Vacation Cottage, you will be greeted by fresh flowers, the world's largest ocean, and the Siuslaw National Forest. And our rates are simple... TAXES ARE INCLUDED! We are pet-friendly... up to two dogs are welcome, and will be charged $25 each... per stay, not per night! And like a hotel, we add NO extra fees for cleaning or otherwise. VRBO does charge a service fee on all rentals booked through their website, so you may call us directly to make your reservation, and save some money!
This one of a kind cottage, privately owned and managed by the on-site owners, is situated on two acres and abuts the National Forest. Flower beds, rhododendrons, and flowering trees provide seasonal color throughout.
We are located about 6.5 miles south of the village, on the inland side of the gorgeous stretch of shoreline between Cape Perpetua and Heceta Head.
The two front rooms and the porch offer ocean views through the trees. The cottage features 2 bedrooms, a small well-equipped kitchen, a living room, a small dining room, and a small bright bathroom.
You can relax on the porch, listen to the ocean’s waves, and breathe in the cool clean air while keeping an eye out for the eagles and hummingbirds in residence.
Walk to the beach down our private mossy path edged by ferns, salal, huckleberry, and Sitka spruce. There you’ll find wide sandy beaches and rocky tide pools, only 800 feet from your front door, just across the Scenic Pacific Coast Byway. Stroll along the beaches, typically empty except for agates, driftwood, and shore birds.
Just behind the cottage a trail leads to the banks of the year round Mill Creek (about 150 feet from your back door), with tall trees, ferns, and wildflowers all around. Or you might unwind at the table under an apple tree in the backyard garden.
This charming cottage is a perfect spot for your base for exploring the magic of the Oregon Coast. We provide a small library of specially selected books on a variety of local topics, including history of the area, geology and flora and fauna. The cottage is also equipped with board games and jigsaw puzzles for your enjoyment.
Whimsy abounds, with an Elvis shrine, a sock monkey haven, local folk art, a sand collection, vintage Oregon plates, a little red-and-white retro red kitchen, and lots more surprises!
Your hosts live on site next door, and would be delighted to help in any way possible to make your stay a memorable one. If you desire an amenity or service not listed, please ask anyway. In many cases you can be accommodated.

We are your hosts, Victoria Lambert and Paul Niblock. Paul previously lived on five continents, then both of us traveled the lower 48 states looking for our perfect spot. We think we have it! We enjoy the ocean 800' from our door, the cleanest freshest air you can imagine, dark rich earth for gardening, lush green forest around us, a creek in the back yard, mountains behind us, lots of solitude, and a year-round temperate climate... we don't need air-conditioning and we don't shovel snow. Life is good!
A Victoria Lambert purchased this cottage in 2001
Outside: the beach, the mighty Pacific, the forest, the creek, the flowers and apple trees... and eagles, elk, bears, coyotes, sea lions, seals, otters, eagles and hummingbirds to share it with.
And inside: all the practical stuff you need to make your visit go smoothly... plus fun furnishings and loads of whimsy, Elvis, sock monkeys, and a growing sand collection from all over the globe!
Thank you for sharing this little piece of heaven with us... Loved the garden... [My grandson] loved his bedroom and wanted to take it home with him... See you next year!
We stayed a week and enjoyed every moment of our vacation! The Cottage is spotless and equipped with everything we needed. The property is absolutely gorgeous, and the beach is a short walk away, also absolutely gorgeous! Paul and Victoria are there to help in any way. We will be back!
The place was set up very nice and peaceful. It is out of town but still located in a spot to easily do day trips up and down the coast. On a but of a negative note we found the scatter rugs a hindrance as we both have probkems walking. It would have been good to have a hair dryer as we didn't think to bring one as most places have them. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
We enjoyed our stay and found the cottage to be just as charming an oasis as other reviewers have. But it's location so near Cape Perpetua and Yachats turned out to be our favorite thing about it. We only went to the beach once because recent storms have made access very difficult and the beach itself is all rocks and no sand. And there really isn't much of a view of the ocean from the property. However, once we got used to the idea of driving everywhere, it was fun to come back to such a sweet place and such nice hosts. Paul went above and beyond by mailing a guitar pick my husband had left behind along with a very nice note. Enough said!
I visited Camp Yachats for two nights in September and the accommodations were perfect. My mother and I were exploring the Oregon coast and loved not only the cottage, but the area. There is not much I can add that has not already been said, but the highlights would be as follows:
- Peaceful setting and gardens
- Convenient location
- Easy beach and forest access
- Comfy beds
- Well stocked kitchen
- Lovely soaps and lotions
- Fun collections of Elvis memorabilia, sock monkeys and sand
- Excellent value
- and last but not least...wonderful hosts - Victoria and Paul
Would love to return with my husband some day and spend a little more time in the area. Quit looking, just book it!!!
We really enjoyed our stay in Yachats at the Camp Yachats Cottage. It was the perfect match for us: quiet, cozy and filled with character. We timed our visit to coordinate with low tide, and the short walk to the beach (very private beach with great tide pools, too) did not disappoint us. We highly recommend this VRBO. It was very clean, filled with sunshine and surrounded by beautiful gardens. It backed up to the forest yet still was close to the sights: Cape Perpetua and Heceta Lighthouse. We ate all our meals at the cottage, and the kitchen held all the things we needed to bake and cook. There were plenty of reading materials and games for the evening beside the warm and inviting gas fireplace. Victoria and Paul were welcoming and helpful, and we appreciated their hospitality and respect for their guests; an added bonus.
Comfy, cozy and welcoming. We had a great time here. The first day it stormed like crazy but we were snug and happy next to the stove playing one of several board games provided. I also loved the wonderful dog package - it had treats, poop bags, towels and a sheet to cover the couch with so my pup and I felt welcome. Thank you so much Paul & Victoria! We hope to visit again soon. :-)
Camp Yachats is located about 6.5 miles south of the village, on the breathtakingly gorgeous stretch of shoreline between Cape Perpetua and the Heceta Head Lighthouse... both are must-see stops on your trip!
