I am an American, born in Seattle and University of Washington Graduate. I've been living and working in Firenze since 1984 and this city has become my home! I have 2 adult children both attending University of Firenze. I live very close to my rental property and am always available for eventual problems and any advice needed. I am very familiar with the city and am willing to help my renters in any way requested. i.e. Musuem, restaurant and train reservations.
Rachel Camarda - American Living in Firenze since 1983 purchased this apartment in 1999
I bought this small apt in the heart of the city because it was my dream to own and rent to others in order to share my passion and love for 'Bella Firenze'
The great location of this apt allows for walking distance to all churches, monuments, museums, shopping and everything you'd want to see in Firenze. No costs and hazzles with taxi's and buses. All right outside your door! Great restaurants and coffee bars such as Cibreo, Rivoire,Enoteca Pinchiorri,Tivoli Gelateria and much more
Bedrooms located at the back of the apt for quiet, peaceful sleeping!
I receive immense joy and satisfaction when I can share my knowledge of Firenze and charming, delightful apt with my guests! My enthusiasm for Bella Firenze is endless!
My son and I recently enjoyed our stay in Rachel's apartment. It was very comfortable and everything we needed was provided. It is so close to all the museums and sights! The Uffizi and Piazza della Signora are only a few steps away. Rachel was a gracious host. It was very helpful that she called two taxis for us. I'd recommend this apartment to anyone.
First the short review: Wonderful Apartment and Location. Comfy firm beds and soft sofa. Excellent wifi. Efficient small kitchen and bathroom. 2nd Bedroom is connected to the main bedroom. Amazing Owner.
My roommate and I convinced our bosses to let us take a working vacation. Being cheap, this came up near the top of the list for affordable month long rentals in Florence. As an American, I did not understand about how this apartment is truly in the heart of the city. 5 Minute walk from Piazza Della Signoria and with it the Uffuzi and Palazzo Vecchio, 10 minutes from the Duomo, St Croce or Hermes and Chanel, 15 from the Mercato Centrale or St Ambrogio. 20 from the Santa Maria Novella train station.
The Apartment itself is on a quiet sidestreet. It has a comfortable living/dining room. We used the dining table and chairs to work 8 hours a day using the wifi with no issues. This included 2 laptops using VPN, 2 others on Netflix and 2 Cell phones playing Pokemon Go.
The Kitchen is two burners and a Toaster Oven. This was more than sufficient for cooking pasta and sauce using fresh San Marzano tomatoes, a proper 2kg Florentine steak, plus stock and soup, all using ingredients fresh from the markets. There were plenty of pots and pans, dishware and utensils. Even a grater for the parmesean and truffles. Plus there was an Italian stovetop coffee maker and espresso to make mornings complete. The water pressure was strong and the temp close to boiling.
The two bedrooms are connected but not an issue for my roommate and me. The bedrooms are at the back and quiet even when you know there are musicians in the piazza playing wonderful music late into the night.
And I have to add that Rachel was wonderful. During our stay we saw 4+ groups of people outside our windows waiting for THEIR apartment owner to show up/respond to emails or phone calls. She was quick to respond. Even when responding to calls not going through due to our terrible “International” cell service or emails due to a light bulb randomly going out. We were delayed in our arrival because we chose the worst airline ever and even when we had to deal with lost luggage she was wonderful directing the delivery driver to the apartment and making sure someone would be there.
If you are a couple, a couple with a child, a group of friends/coworkers looking for a getaway, chose this apartment because it is cozy, affordable, close to everything you need/want and because the owner is just amazing.
The apartment is very cute and clean. Rachel gave us a lot of information about Firenze and she is very kind. The flat is also very close to the most important sights and shops. We can definitely recommend this apartment.
I was 14 days in Florence for a Dolce Vita language training course. Rachel is a very friendly and helpfull owner. The apartement is cosy, clean and comfortable. All you need is available. I didn´t miss anything. The location is in a side road,- so it was silence at night and I slept well. That even in the heart of Florence. The life starts when you leave the door and walk 2 minutes. Everything was perfect.
My wife and I will certainly come back.
Thanks Rachel for your great support.
The apartment is charming and quite spacious for the two of us and our small dog. There is an additional small bedroom that we did not use. The apartment is centrally located and worked very well for museum and site hopping as well as attending an Italian language school. Rachel was a gracious host and responded promptly to our questions and needs. About halfway into our stay, construction started somewhere in the building. We realize there is no control over when something like that occurs but it was pretty loud from in the morning until about 5pm. The only negative was the noise from various renters in the apartment above us. When they were moving around, it was obvious and was somewhat annoying. Notwithstanding this, we recommend this apartment for other visitors to Florence. Grazie mille Rachel!
My wife, father and I spent a week in this cosy and comfortable apartment. The location is terrific! The Arno river is at the end of the block, with the Ponte Vecchio only a short walk away. The Ufizzi, the Signoria are just as close, with the Duomo only a ten-minute walk away. The apartment is on a very quiet street.
Rachel, the owner, met us promptly after our cab pulled up and gave us a tour of the apartment. It was clear that she put a lot of thought and effort into providing what visitors need, like a shopping cart, umbrellas, and several guides books to the city. As a whole, the apartment reminded me of a well-sorted boat in which everything that was needed was present and in its proper place. We found Rachel very helpful and engaging.
Even in July, built-in air conditioners in the living room and both bedrooms quickly cooled down the apartment when we returned from our adventures each day. The new washing machine was a godsend. The large bed was firm and comfortable, and my father reports that the softer bed in the small bedroom was to his liking. The small bedroom is entered through the larger bedroom. We never felt crowded in the least, although the kitchen is a one-person affair.
The apartment provided us with a perfect base for exploring Florence and we developed an affection for it. It is where I will stay the next time I visit Firenze.
