You are about 10 to 12 minutes from the city of San Diego, Lindbergh Field Airport, The World Famous San Diego Zoo, and Balboa Park.

You can easily walk to restaurants and shops from this location.

Enjoy Belmont Park also in Mission Beach and about a 10 minute walk. Belmont Park has the famous Mission Beach roller coaster as well as several other attractions.. There are video games inside and a surfing wave machine that you can rent time on and ride the waves. The Wave House is in the same area and they have exercise classes, yoga, and a work out room. The public is welcome.

Beauty on the beach. This property is one of the very newest and nicest properties in Mission Beach. We invite you to view the map. This is a prime area of north mission beach...bay front. You can see how close you are to the ocean side, yet right on the beach on the quieter bay front location. It is very important to have a location on the beach, bay front that has close and easy access to the ocean side. You can literally walk to the ocean boardwalk in about 2 minutes. Feel free to call for the exact address to google map it. It is also close to restaurants and shops that you can easily walk to. For recreation just outside your door, you have miles of flat boardwalk for walking, jogging, roller-blading, or skateboarding. The boardwalk borders the beach so you never leave the beach when on the boardwalk. The boardwalk curves away from this property allowing you some additional privacy. There is a beach volleyball net a few doors away for the public to enjoy. You can rent water sports equipment either at the Catamaran or the Mission Bay Aquatic Center...both just a short walk away. This bay is perfect for kayaking, paddleboarding or renting a small sail boat. You can play on the shore and build sand castles or swim. Just cross to the west for ocean activities....about a 2 minute walk to the ocean side boardwalk from the property. There is even a cross walk for crossing Mission Boulevard which is the main street that runs north and south right down the center of Mission Beach dividing the ocean side from the bay side. This property is also quiet and far enough away from Mission Boulevard which is important. We have many permanent residents residing next to and behind this building and they are very respectful and quiet. This is not a party area which is good for our guests. There are some nearby playgrounds for little kids as well. We have an outdoor community half basketball court and tennis court.

What makes this condo unique

The board walk curves out away from this property allowing for a 'private sandy beach area' directly in front of this building. This building lot was very carefully chosen. There were actually two lots that had older homes that were demolished to allow enough space for the spectacular Villa Italia.

Nothing was spared in the architecture and building of this masterpiece. Enjoy curved etched entry doors with decorative iron accents. The glass panels open to bring in the Pacific Ocean breezes. The floors are adorned with stone surrounded by smooth rounded walls, canned light throughout, granite in the kitchen as well as marble and stone in the baths. Each room has a flat screen television and the living room has a gas fireplace for those cozy fall evenings. It is hard to match the location, architecture, and overall beauty of this property.

We strive to make the accommodations as comfortable as possible. The kitchen is nicely equipped with everything you would need to make nice meals for your family if you so chose to cook. The beds are comfy with cotton sheets. There are beach towels, beach chair, and sand toys available for your use. We do not allow smoking inside. We are close to many nearby activities. You can play beach volleyball on the bay or ocean side of Mission Beach near the property, there is a public tennis court, outdoor 1/2 basketball court and play ground within 1/4 mile with bay view. One block to the north is a 5 star hotel with daily fitness and spa services available. There is a public indoor pool at the Plunge in Belmont Park just 3/4 miles to the south that is open to the public. There is a fire ring on the beach at Crown Point about 2 miles away. Nearby gyms in Pacific Beach about 1.5 miles to the north that welcome out of town guests. Close to restaurants and shops.

Beautiful location and accommodations!

Garage was very narrow. We switched from a Suburban to a Chevrolet Blazer and had no problems. Rented bikes for the and toured the area! Short car ride to downtown San Diego.

Best Location on the Bay!

Our group had the entire second floor (4 BD, 3 BA) and it was perfect! The bay is steps from the door and the beach is a minute walk. This place had everything you could need during your stay and more! Beach towels, sand toys and chairs were all provided. We walked to the grocery was so close. We were able to get two Explorers in the garage with no problem; just a couple of adjustments. Shirley was very responsive and easy to work with. Truly, the best place on the bay!

Great location and rental

Our family had a wonderful stay at this location. We had plenty of room for 6 adults and 2 children. The property is located on the bayside which was quieter but only a couple of blocks to the ocean. It's right on a walking path and close to restaurants and coffee shops. The garage is narrow but we had no problems getting our 2 mid-sized SUVs into it. We had such a great time, we're already planning our next visit!

It is really nice staying on the quieter ocean bay side yet so close to the ocean to be able to easily take advantage of what both have to offer. So convenient being able to walk to restaurants and shops. I also love that at night, on the bay side, there are lovely views with lights reflecting on the water. We also have the fireworks that are over the bay right in front of the place. The display is every night in the summer and on Saturday nights for the remainder of the year. You had mentioned the garage. The entrance is narrow, but then it opens up in width once you pass the entrance (a single wide garage door). It is quite long and there is plenty of room on the side for bikes, kayaks, paddle boards, etc. It was our pleasure providing your accommodations, and we look forward to your return. We certainly appreciate your business. Thank you for choosing the property.

perfect location for everything you want to do

Although it is only the 2nd floor of the bldg., it was enough room for 6 to sleep, eat and relax. It is right on a busy pathway along the bay that goes for miles full of cyclists, runners and those out for a stroll. Across the street on the other side is another pathway along the ocean that seems to go forever to see store fronts and little restaurants. It was so close to Sea World and to Belmont Amusement Park which all of us enjoyed playing at. We didn't have to worry about getting lost in a busy city for the amazing attractions. We even caught a major league baseball game as it was close as well. I would recommend this place to anyone. The only con I would mention is that the garage entry is VERY narrow and we had a lot of difficulty getting in and out every day with our minivan; Bring a mid size to smaller vehicle. Shirley was wonderful to work with and was always available if any questions.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am glad you enjoyed the property and would recommend it to anyone. As you stated, the location is fantastic. You are right on the beach with panoramic views from your spacious deck, living areas, and two of the 4 bedrooms. You can join in any of the many activities or just relax and people watch. The garage is narrow when entering the single wide garage door, however, once through the door, it significantly widens and is quite a long tandem....housing two mid size SUV's easily. The garages in this beach area tend to have a narrow entrance, but we have housed many mini vans. You do have to swing wide when entering (going past the garage opening) and then back up which helps your wheels to be straight and then you can make it in. Once through the single garage door, it is wide as stated before with plenty of room to store bikes and paddle boards, etc. next to the vehicles. Again, so glad you enjoyed your stay! We look forward to your return visit.

What a Perfect Place!

Villa Italia is easily the loveliest house on the bay. Shirl was easy to work with and promptly responded to any inquiry during the initial rental process, and to questions that needed answers prior to check in. Upon arrival, the house was clean and Shirl was there to answer any questions. There was plenty of room for our family of 6 adults and 1 toddler. Shirl recommended Toddler’s Travels for crib and high chair rentals, and their service was good. The grocery store, Ralph’s, was close enough to walk. Kitchen was supplied well, and we took advantage of the grill and ate nearly all our meals in. Cooking utensils, serving dishes, plates and cups were easy to find and plentiful, even some sippy cups. We especially enjoyed the balcony area: we ate out there whenever possible. It was safe for the toddler—no worries that she would fall over or try to climb over, just a little slippery when wet. (She did figure out a few days in that the front door took us “outside.”) It was cool enough a couple of nights to appreciate the “hot” (fireplace), which came on with a quick flick of a switch. The windows/doors that make up the front wall of the Villa allowed views of the bay from nearly everywhere in the unit, even folding laundry. Great ventilation from open windows and doors kept the house comfortable. There were enough chairs at the tables-indoors and out- and there were folding chairs in the master bedroom closet. Other than the kids renting the Craig cats one day, we did a whole lot of nothing!!!! And that is exactly what we wanted. We brought some books, read them and a few of the ones there, and left behind a few, too (and found a convenient Goodwill to add to the collection.) There were walks around the bay, and along the Pacific. Getting to the ocean merely requires a couple minute walk that is made easy by the crosswalk--traffic has to stop for you! We did venture out for Rubicon Deli and Cream-yum! The house is at the intersection of a “street” and the bay side walk, which has bikers, runners, walkers and skateboarders round the clock. This might mean that you wake up to a conversation that sounds like it is in the next room…but is really outside. Not a problem, but it was a bit of a surprise the first night we heard it. Departure procedures were easy, and we were sad to leave. It was great to create memories. Thank you for sharing your Villa. You won’t be sorry if you choose this for your Mission Bay/Beach home away!

Owner's Response: What a lovely review! You obviously really enjoyed the property, location, and area. It really is a touch of heaven finding a lovely property in such a great location in Mission Beach. There is so much to do and you can walk to just about every place from Villa Italia....including grocery stores to various restaurants, shops, ocean side, water equipment rental places, and bike rental is right there. What is so great is that you can relax and just read a book or walk out your door and are able to do so many things on foot. Everyone in the group can do what appeals to them from reading a book to getting out and walking on the miles of flat boardwalk, riding a bike, renting a kayak or stand up paddle board, sail boat, picking up shells, boogie boarding, surfing, making a sand castle, swimming, visiting a deli or restaurant, or shopping. This is really the ultimate 'beach experience' and I am so glad you had such a wonderful trip. It was a pleasure working with you, and I hope your travels bring you back our way. We would love to provide another beach vacation for you in the future!!

Sea World is about a 5 minute drive just across the bay and they have a firework display every night in the summer season and every Saturday night after summer that can be viewed from your patio....quite spectacular to see the sky light up just outside your private patio.

Location is key when choosing a vacation. This location has it all! You are close to San Diego in a beach paradise with ocean bay on one side and ocean just 80 steps to the west. You are in a quiet area with easy access to the busier ocean area.

Great for families and much to do in local area....something for all ages.

Golf: We have many wonderful golf courses in San Diego. The closest is Mission Bay Golf Course about 2.5 miles away

Restaurants: Many nearby restaurants

Shopping: Grocery store is within 1/2 mile. Ralphs is a large grocery store with extended hours and underground parking and within 1/2 mile. Trader Joes and Sprouts is about one mile away in Pacific Beach.
