|Minimum Stay||3 - 7 nights|
This special home was built during the depression by our grandfather K.G. Anthony. Many of the materials used in the construction were hand-picked by K.G. and his attention to detail is evident throughout the house.
The house is in excellent shape. The kitchen is fully equipped with a built-in dishwasher, a pilotless gas stove, a microwave, and a large refrigerator. The living room has oak hardwood floors and pine walls and ceilings which provide the perfect atmosphere for relaxing in front of the fire at the end of the day. All common areas are spacious, making our house ideal for family reunions and multi-family vacations.
The rental week extends from 4 pm Saturday to 10 am the following Saturday. Clean sheets are provided at the beginning of the week.
We hope that you and your family will enjoy this property as much as our family has over the years.

We were a group of 7 couples getting together to celebrate some of us turning 50 this year. This was the perfect house!!! Casual but updated, plenty of room to spread out, great fire pit overlooking the lake, small boats, large living and dining rooms, screened in porch. Very convenient location to hiking, wineries, restaurants, etc. Would definitely recommend this for family/friend get togethers! Owner was very helpful and easy to communicate with.
We stayed at the Big House for a week in early July 2015. Our group was about four families including several kids of all ages and a couple dogs. We had a wonderful time. The house is large with lots of rooms to spread out. For the most part, the adults did not have to share with kids! The bathrooms are relatively newly updated and very clean -- always the mystery of a rental house! The kitchen is large enough and the dining room is huge. There was even an old wooden high chair we made use of with our toddler. The screened in porch was perfect for Grandma. The firepit was sensational at night. The water was freezing (of course!) but very swimmable. The teens especially loved rowing out onto the water. The enormous front lawn (and back too) was perfect for games. The location was perfect for quick wine tasting jaunts. The nearby state park was fantastic. I could go on and on, but suffice to say, this is a wonderful family home and you won't regret renting it for your own big family gathering.
Our three families (6 adults, 6 children, 2 dogs) all came together for a wonderful vacation at Anthony's Big House. We were a bit nervous if all would get along in one space, but the spaciousness of the house and property soon set our minds at ease.
The large property allowed for impromptu soccer games, the dogs to chase balls (and each other), and the fire pit was a wonderful way to end our day. (A special bonus was the charcoal pit for grilling chicken!) The beautiful dock allowed for swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. Unfortunately, the oar lock in the canoe was not sized properly, so my sister-in-law needed a tow-back to shore by a friendly neighbor after the oar got stuck. Neighbors are extremely friendly, however. The water was beautiful and clear...and no sharp shells were noted.
Craig was immediately available when the propane tank ran out unexpectedly, and a gas representative came by within two hours to fill the tank. Kudos for such wonderful, prompt service!
All in all...as my husband said, "one of the most relaxing vacations I've EVER had!!" Thank you for sharing your home with our family.
Our family has been meeting at Anthony's Big House on Labor Day weekend for two years now and just love it. We have a group that covers all ages from 1 to 81 something for all to enjoy, from the lake to hiking at watkins glen to wine tasting. Best of all is sitting around the firepit at night overlooking the lake. Craig and Brian have a treasure in their family home and we are lucky that they share it.
The house is conveniently located on the west side of Seneca Lake near both Geneva and Watkins Glen on 10 acres of land (unlimited parking) in the heart of the Finger Lakes wine country. The location has ample privacy due to ravines on either side and approximately 350 feet of lake frontage.
Other Activities: boating, horseshoes
