Wake up to an ocean view! Set on 3 acres of woodland with conservation land on two sides, this secluded, 5-bedroom, 4-bath house is a perfect getaway for multiple families, generations, or group retreats. Stroll five minutes on wooded path to our neighborhood association-owned beach for swimming, sunning or boating.
This is a great location for families that want to 'get away from it all.' Lounge on our brick patio while watching egrets swoop over Buzzard’s bay. Shopping centers, restaurants and Water Wiz! park short hop on route 6, and an easy drive to National Seashore Beaches, Plimoth Plantation and all Cape Cod attractions.
Give your kids (and yourself) a chance to relax, explore tidepools, boat, or swim on beautiful Buzzard's Bay, just 40 minutes from Boston. This house is not just a 'rental property' - it is our family's vacation home. We hope you'll enjoy it as much as we do!
Two Complete Kitchens + Outdoor dining: Full Kitchen: 'Summer' and 'Winter' wings each have full kitchen: great for multi-generations, breakfast kitchen, or two families. There is a gas grill and brick patio with table and chairs for outdoor dining.
Private Association Area: The house is in a private (non-gated) association area with a shared private beach, never crowded, a three minute walk from the house. Two kayaks are available for tenants use at their own risk.
The 3 acres site is bounded on two sides by conservation land, and neighbors are hidden by trees. There are nature trails for birding and walking, and a common large open field for games, kites, frisbee, etc.
Family vacation location since 1952. House built in 1956, expanded in 1960, addition in 1981, renovation and addition in 2008.
We found this property to be the perfect location for our recent family wedding and loved the space. Very quiet and serene and lovely little jaunt to a cute little beach (a bit rocky ..water shoes recommended)The owners were prompt and courteous to any issues that arose. The kitchens were well stocked with all conveniences.Would certainly recommend this house for its size and number of bedrooms and baths .
My wife and I rented this house to take a group of graduated seniors on a post-high school trip. This house surpassed our hopes. First, the two kitchens gave us plenty of room for food and cooking. Second, the two sides of the house allowed my wife and I to stay in one side and let the kids hang out in the other. The kids loved having one bedroom big enough to sleep all the boys, and three others for the girls. There were beds we didn't even use!
The house has two of what I would call master bedrooms. One is a king sized bed in the loft over the winter side that looks right out the back to the water. This side has a bathroom off the kitchen with shower.
The summer side has a master with bathroom attached. And there are still two other full baths. No one ever waited on a bathroom.
The house is tucked away from everything and has a huge yard. We enjoyed sitting outside in the very private yard. There is plenty of outdoor furniture and patio space. Some others have mentioned bugs. We didn't have too much trouble and the house had bug spray for us to use.
The walk to the water was private and easy, even if not especially short. It only took a few minutes, and you really won't mind as the path is fun and there is an osprey nest along the way. The shared beach at the end had only a few other people all week. Low tide allowed us to walk far from the shore to see crabs and othe sea creatures. I took some of the kids around the corner to go clamming.
The house is a short, easy drive to Cape Cod, Newport, and Boston, all of which we enjoyed. We went into New Bedford to the Whaling Museum.
This house is a great value for the number of people it sleeps. My local relatives were impressed with the house, the location, and the neighborhood.
The house, the location, the beach combined for a perfect location for our family to have a four generational reunion which included those close to this location and those from far away.
We enjoyed the walk to the beach while observing Osprey, deer and turkey. The beach was very private with wonderful sand bars and rocks to explore during the tides. Yes, the bugs are there too, but don't be a wimp. This is a great location and great value because you don't have to fight the traffic when you leave.
Rare combination of getting away from it all, but still close to everything!
The listing and photos properly represent this property. It was welled maintained and stocked with many helpful items. The owner was prompt and courteous in all correspondence.
I would definitely recommend this property! It had rustic charm with all the modern conveniences in the kitchens and baths. We always had enough hot water. There's enough room for being together and to have your separate space, which is nice when you are with family you don't live near.
The older folks enjoyed the proximity to Cape Cod and the teenagers enjoyed the kayaks. We all enjoyed the Kool Kone restaurant up the road, the beautiful waterfront view, as well as Battleship Cove in Fall River.
We had a wonderful stay at this Wareham vacation rental, and everything that is mentioned about the house is spot on. It's surrounded by nature, secluded, and a perfect launching place to enjoy the water nearby. The house was very comfortable and has lots of character, and there are beds galore. This is the perfect place to rent for a large group or people, and pets are welcome. We even made use of both kitchens. The swimming in the bay is warm and there are kayaks waiting to be used. We couldn't have asked for anything more.
Having lived on the West Coast for all of my married life, I was keen to revisit the land of my birth and introduce my family to New England. We were a family of 11 and found the sleeping arrangements ideal for 3 couples, 2 grandsons and 3 granddaughters. This property provided an excellent place for enjoying the amenities of the immediate area as well as those located within a few miles.. The two kayaks provided a good source of play for everyone no matter what the tide happened to be at the time. Although tv and other entertainment was available, the family found board and card games a good source of family bonding each evening.
We found cycling along the canal a treat for one day as well as a trip to Woods Hole, and to Eastham. The bridges over the canal are as congested now as they were during my youth.!!
On the day of our extended family gathering, we were a bit worried about the bugs (which were a bit bothersome the first day or so) but on the day of the gathering, there was enough of a breeze to keep the bugs at bay.
We would highly recommend this property. It is well equipped and maintained.
