Many thanks! Borgo in Rosa was once an old mill and a barn and was completely restored in 2011. Vineyards, olive groves and fields of sunflowers surround the property. A short drive along a country lane lined with cypresses (400-metre dirt road) leads to the estate. The shared pool is idyllically placed among the olive trees. All of the apartments have an outdoor area for al fresco dining. There is also a large common area with sun loungers and umbrellas where large groups can gather. Each accommodation has been furnished with love and care, with coloured walls, terracotta floors, antiques and beautiful fabrics. All bedrooms have air-conditioning. There is a laundry room with washing machine in the main building, accessible to all guests. The owners live in a separate villa in the garden; they are fluent in English and are happy to help the guests during their stay. Weddings and receptions on request: In the garden, there is an elegantly decorated loggia, ideal for small parties and receptions (catering and chef service upon request). Apartment 4 is situated in a little building which used to be the barn. In front of the apartment is a private, spacious and panoramic terrace. Ground floor: entrance hall with living space and glass door access to the terrace, living room with fire place and dining area, kitchen, one little bathroom, loggia with roof for al-fresco dining (seats 10). Second floor: 1 double bedroom with terrace, 1 twin room, 1 bathroom with shower. Combined with the neighbouring apartment this detached house could sleep 10. Please note that google maps just shows the approximate position of the property. The Chianti hills with its vineyards and towering cypresses have become a landmark of Tuscany, offering a rare combination of natural beauty and a tempting style of life. Chiantishire, as the British ironically call it, consists of numerous little hilltop villages where cafés in medieval village squares invite you to drink a cappuccino in the morning, in which you can sample the local wines or enjoy the original food in one of the trattorias – ham and salami, fresh pasta, wild boar stew with white beans and wild growing salads. Drive along the smaller back roads between old stone walls and you might spot a sheperd and its flock, which produce the delicious 'Pecorino' cheese. Tours: bar 2 km, restaurant 2 km, grocery store 2 km, Mercatale 2 km, San Casciano 2 km, Greve in Chianti 12 km, Florence 18 km. Sightseeing: You are in the heart of Tuscany and the list of half or full day excursions is long: Arezzo, famous for the frescoes of Piero della Francesca and its monthly antiques market, the walled city of Lucca with its 99 churches, the leaning tower of Pisa, the Orcia valley with the Renaissance town of Pienza and the wine producing centres Montepulciano and Montalcino, and the impressive abbey of Sant'Antimo just to name a few.... Florence: In Tuscany's capital Florence, you can indulge yourself in art, architecture and culture. Some of the highlights are Michelangelo’s David which can be admired in the Accademia Gallary, the cathedral with campanile and baptistery, the cathedral museum, the Palazzo Vecchio, Bargello, San Marco with the frescoes of Fra Angelico, Santa Croce, San Miniato and last but not least, the Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens. Goods, lace fabrics, linen fabrics, Florentine paper, wine and culinary delights come to mind when speaking about Florence. The most celebrated days are the Easter holidays and San Giovanni on 25th June. Do you feel like a little preview of Florence? Browse on our new cultural website and stroll around the 70 museums of Florence: Siena might be one of the most enchanting cities in Tuscany. The streets are narrow and the Palazzi made from red brick are elegant. Siena is famous for its exciting Palio festival. In the town centre in the Piazza del Campo – a unique shell-shaped square, known to be one of the most beautiful squares of the world – the Palio is held twice a year (beginning of July and mid-August): a horse race in which every Contrada (neighborhood) sends its own festively adorned four-legged friends to defend their honour. This colourful festival exists since medieval times and Siena eagerly awaits this event the whole year. One week before and one week after the Palio festival, people celebrate in the streets: long banquet tables are put for hundreds of people in the romantic back streets for al-fresco dining by the different Contrade of Siena.
