Guestbook comments from the owner

The condo was very clean and comfortable, the view from the lanai was spectacular and the location right on the beach was unbeatable - we loved sitting on the deck drinking in the ocean, walking on the beach, and swimming and snorkeling in the water right out front ... and the personal encounters with the sea turtles were the highlight of our visit!

Another fantastic stay at Haleiwa Surf!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at Craig's condo and we couldn't ask for a better place in the North Shore. The condo is clean, comfortable and you are right on the beach. It's well stocked for cooking so you won't need to eat every meal out. Being on the top floor means it's quiet (but do note that there is no elevator) and having the end unit means you get the trade winds in both the living room and the bedroom. The sea turtles were out on the beach every day and it was fun to be able to walk into Haleiwa and watch the surf competition. Craig is super easy to work with, responds quickly to questions and has lived in the area for years so he can fill you in on great things to do and good places to eat. Stayed for 10 days this time and it was still hard to leave when the time came...we will be back again!

AWESOME LOCATION

  • 5 of 5

just got home from spending 12 days on Oahu and the 7 days i spent at this condo were by far the best. in hindsight i would not have spent any time in Waikiki but would have came straight here. Snorkeled with sea turtles everyday on this great and almost private beach. Thanks for everything Craig. if we make it back to the north shore we will stay here again for sure

Great for families

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five stayed at this location for two weeks in August. We could not have had a better experience. Craig was very available, as many people have mentioned. If you needed something, he took care of it. He was pleasant to talk to you, and just had lots of information to share.

The unit itself is stocked with everything you would need to cook, clean, and just live. The pots and pans were great, he had Tupperware for storage, a cooler for day trips, spices, and even a few condiments. For outdoor activities, he had boogie boards, snorkeling equipment, sand toys, beach chairs, and the list went on and on.

We were a family of five, with three boys ages 13, 13, and 11. It was a little bit tight sleeping, but that was made aware to us well in advance. Two of the boys slept on the futon, and the other one on the foldout mattress on the floor. All were very comfortable. There is an air conditioner in the bedroom, which was nice during our visit, as the heat and humidity were very high. We did not need it every night though.

The location of the unit is great, right on the North Shore. It is a no-frills type building. You get a prime location, at a great rate. There are two televisions, for those that need it. We were there during the Olympics, so that was nice to be able to watch that at bedtime. Our kids loved watching the geckos and lizards that are all around the property. Really a neat little addition. Having laundry facilities about 100 feet away was great for doing laundry during our extended stay.

If you like staying at the four seasons, the Ritz Carlton, or fancy hotels, this is not for you. This is true island living.

Thank you again Craig for being so hospitable, and making for a great family vacation.

Great location - Very Accommodating

  • 5 of 5

Great might not be strong enough to describe the location of this unit. You are only feet from the beach, a beach where we were able to snorkel daily with sea turtles, rays, eels, and apparently we missed a Monk Seal by one day. You are a short trip to the main road through Haleiwa and all of the dining and shopping that entails. You are not far from many of the scenic beaches along the North Shore and the Waimea Valley, we probably enjoyed Sharks Cove the most of any place we visited on the North Shore.

The unit itself is comfortable, and it accommodated all of our limited cooking needs. Comfortable bed, plenty of towels and a ton of beach gear. The lanai is the place to be, comfortable furniture to take in the sights and sounds.

The complex has a very laid back and family friendly vibe. Many folks will gather as the afternoon fades to take in the stunning sunset. Everyone was very hospitable and shared the Aloha spirit.

The owner is extremely responsive via email and will do everything he can to make your stay a pleasant one. We would highly recommend this unit.

Really enjoyed our time on the North Shore at Craig's Haleiwa Surf condo. He was a generous and gracious host and went out of his way to accommodate us. We definitely hope to be back and in the meantime whole heartedly recommend this unit.

Notes:
This unit is among very few in the building that is an end unit in the ocean front building. This adds to the comfort of the usual trade winds as well as the direct view of the ocean. It is not unusual to see whales, dolphins, turtles and occasionally a Monk seal right off the lanai.
