Right at the water's edge, the Harbour Suite occupies a scenic corner of the Mermaid Wharf- a modern apartment complex in the Design District of Victoria's Old Town. The floor to ceiling windows look onto the kayaks, sculls and sturdy tugs of Victoria Harbour.
There is a waterfront café on the main floor serving reasonably priced international comfort food. Whale watching excursions and kayak rentals are available at the adjacent wharf.
The scenic Galloping Goose Trail (hiking or cycling) is but steps away. Harbour Suite is a bright, comfortable corner apartment with every convenience.
You couldn't find a better place for a stay in Victoria if you like to watch the activity on the water, walk all over downtown without having to use your car, and be within blocks of many fantastic restaurants.
The apartment is right on the water, super clean, well equipped, compact and very comfortable for a couple. We especially like the two balconies which are perfect for viewing the sunset, enjoying a glass of wine, or even for watching a family of otters play on the docks!
Charles was very easy to deal with for the rental process, and Sue, who greeted us, was very helpful with information about Victoria as well as the apartment. She came by right away when we had a question about the fireplace and was very accommodating about arrival and departure times. This is our second visit and we hope to return many more times.
Just returned from spending 4 nights and 3 days at this great condo. The owner was very easy to deal with and their onsite manager was very helpful. It's close to everything in downtown Victoria is within walking distance; and, a car is not needed. Although, if you do have wheels, an underground parking space is provided. It has everything you need to cook your own meals, or take in one of the numerous eating establishments nearby. Tip, try The Sour Pickle, about a block and a half away, for either breakfast or lunch (they close too early for dinner), excellent food at a reasonable price for downtown Victoria. Chinatown is only 2 blocks away as well.
The condo is more then comfortable and just right for 2 people. Great view to watch the paddlers; plus, the little Harbor Ferry is located almost at the doorstep. I took it over to Fisherman's Wharf one evening for a quick dinner.
Easy to give this gem five stars.
We stayed here for a week in April and loved the location 10/10, close to everything. Loved the condo with its tall windows and ever-changing views of the harbour. Right near design district and Chinatown, such lovely restored old buildings. Would love to come back another time and hopefully stay in this condo again. Local restaurants we tried and loved were Il Terrazzo for Italian, Nautical Nellie's for seafood and the Guild for an eclectic menu and staff. Also able to do lots of walking ...worth a visit to Spinnaker's across the harbour. Would recommend the Robert Bateman Centre and the Royal BC Museum. We did not need a car for this visit as we have done the Butchart Gardens and other parts of Vancouver Island on previous visits.
Have used VRBO many times through the years and this condo is one of the best! It was very clean, well maintained and is exactly as the photos portray. Without hesitation we would recommend it. The location is perfect, we walked everywhere. The owner was most accommodating.........hope to have an opportunity to stay here again!
We stayed here for 3 weeks in July/August and couldn't have asked for a more ideal place to stay. The description and photos of the place were exactly as they looked on the website, which were quite nice in our opinion. The location is ideal in downtown Victoria (coming from a Victoria'ite myself). There is an amazing view of the waterway from both balconies. We spent virtually every night out on the side balcony eating dinner and having a drink as the sun went down in a beautiful red colour over the skyline. The condo is within a 5-minute walkable distance to all major restaurants and attractions in downtown Victoria. It was very well-maintained and had a fully-stocked kitchen with all the cooking utensils we needed. Finally, Chuck (the owner), was so incredibly friendly and helpful with each and every step of the way, from booking to answering any of our questions that we had. He has a very clearly laid-out check-in information sheet that he gives to you before you arrive and then provides lots of information about happenings in around the city in the apartment. We have stayed in a few different condos in Victoria over the years, but this is definitely the best we've stayed at. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great vacation stay in Victoria. You won't regret it!
