Why Rhonda Blair chose British Columbia

This property for us is both a primary and secondary home depending on the time of year. We love this property because we can go from the doorstep of our home in Calgary to the doorstep of this property within less than 4 hours by plane. It is a perfect location where we have all of the luxurious amenities and charm of a west coast beach home, without it being over populated in a tourist area. The popular tourist destinations are a short drive away. For us, it is an idilic location for rest and relaxation; a place to create family memories; a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We've had a wonderful time; thanks for allowing us to visit your home.

Bought fish at the french street marina... i've shopped for fish all over the

globe... have found a new fav. We watched an otter play and dine for an hour

last night on the beach here... kayaked in the bay today to visit seals and sea

lions.

We've tried to treat this home as if it were ours (if i had a spare million and

the commute was a wee bit friendlier maybe...)... lived mostly in the kitchen

(as a food guy two thumbs up... really well appointed!!!).

A wonderful end to our time on Vancouver Island... Kate Wendy and I thank

you for the chance to stay here.

Amazing View and Tranquility

  • 4 of 5

Lovely spot, perfect for my family's vacation, we are having a hard time adjusting to our regular life with no phenomenal view. The house is very clean, comfy, great updates but little dark, pan abode is nostalgic but could be lightened further. As a designer...I started "designs".My husband loved both the sauna which he used every days, sometimes twice and the main bath shower is wonderful with multi heads. Watched sea lions, birds, resident eagles and a juvenile, my kids called Bert the conquer, fishing...really amazing sunsets and sunrises. The negative? Small...lacking on the staples ie. No oil, salt, pepper and the tp for a family of four wasnt adequate and we had to buy more within the first 24 hours. Would definitely recommend and would return our selves. Wonderful

Found a treasure!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the Beach House. It was easy to find and so convenient. We loved the view and found the house well equipped with appliance and dishes. Thanks for having spices on hand too! The shower in the main bathroom was a great surprise! We would definitely stay here again!

Excellent Relaxation even with kids

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here in the summer of 2016 with our three young kids (4,2,6months) and wife's parents. We were extremely lucky with the weather and were able to sit out and watch the cruise ships go by every night. The view is seriously spectacular. It's an elevated position so you can see far and you can watch ships, sea life (sea lions, otters, bald eagles) or gaze at the mainland BC. We also had deer visit us everyday to eat the blackberries on the property. The deck easily fit all 7 of us with lots of room for kids to play.

Neighbourhood felt extremely quiet and safe. The property was clean and well kept. The pathway down to the water was a little dangerous for my two year old but fine if I held his hand. My boys could have spent the entire time playing with the rock crabs in the tide pools. We also really enjoyed cooking oysters on a bonfire overlooking the ocean at night.

We had a few requests from Rhonda which she handled immediately - like turning off the A/C which we don't like and fixing a drip in th fridge from the ice maker.

It's also within 30 minutes to amenities like Costco, Cabelas, fresh seafood stands, fruit stands, sandy beachs etc.

Would definitely not hesitate to return to this property.

Wonderful, Relaxing, Winter Getaway for Two

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were looking forward to a very relaxing, quiet winter getaway and this property more than delivered. Some places the pictures end up looking better than reality, but in this case the pictures don’t do this house enough justice. It’s a home that has been updated in a lot of places for aesthetics and function, and still retains its charm. We thoroughly enjoyed the spacious kitchen, master bath with the double shower heads and jets, sauna in the second bathroom on the main floor, and the amazing ocean views framed by the beautiful madrone tree outside. It was a lot of fun to watch all the marine mammals playing and swimming by (we spotted dozens of seals/sea lions, and a few otters). We were also able to get some delicious local farm fresh eggs, lamb chops, and sushi grade albacore from the owner recommended farm store. Thanks very much for the great home and we would definitely stay again!

SPECTACULAR!!!

  • 5 of 5

Where will you ever find anything better on Vancouver Island? Nowhere! What a house! What a view! The view alone is worth every penny! Beyond the view, the house and all of the parts (beds, kitchen, washer/dryer/grill/etc) is remarkably wonderful. We all slept well on the comfortable mattresses, the house was spotless, the kitchen equipment enabled us to cook a number of delicious meals which we ate on the deck that has an unbeatable and indescribably beautiful view! You are foolish if you opt to rent any other home on this island. This one rocks!
