Bolongo Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 2-6)

Watch stingrays jump out of the water or iguanas sunning on the rocks below the private balcony spanning the water-side of the condo and accessible from the living/dining room and master bedroom. The sunrise is magnificent from the balcony and a great place for a slow and relaxing breakfast.

The swaying palm trees, the lush local flora and sail boats floating in the bay help you to take that deep breath and 'relax'. The condo is part of the Watergate Villas East condo association and the two completely separate bedroom/bath combinations is perfect for two couples or a family to share.

Bolongo Bay has a wonderful blend of tranquility and action with a relaxed ambience perfect for vacations, holidays and weddings. Three beachfront restaurants are a short walk from the condo, including the famous Iggie's. The Bolongo Bay Beach Resort is just a short walk down the beach and has all the water activities and toys for rent that you could possibly want -- sailing, jet skiing, kayaking, parasailing, windsurfing, scuba diving, etc.

Or just enjoy the shared pools of the three sister condo associations available to our guests--Watergate Villas' is beside the Caribbean Sea and is a short walk from the condo, Sea Cliff Villas' overlooks the Caribbean Sea to the east for a wonderful view of the sunset and the cruise ships leaving Charlotte Amalie, and Regatta Point's is at the very top of the hill for lots of sunshine and tropical views.

The condo is furnished with wicker and rattan furniture and features a fully-equipped kitchen and all the amenities you may need for your vacation. Fully air-conditioned if you wish, or feel like a true resident of the Tropics by letting the Caribbean sea breeze from the soft tradewinds blowing direct from Portugal caress you each day and lull you to sleep each night.

With the added airline costs for bags, pack less and use our in-condo washer and dryer. If you want suggestions, we have a condo guestbook providing instructions for all condo amenities as well as favorite restaurants, beaches, snorkeling, scenic, picture-perfect views of Paradise, etc.

We love our Condo and sharing it with our family and friends. We hope you enjoy our Caribbean Paradise as much as we do.

About Nikki Graham

We live in South Point, OH, which is the southern-most point of Ohio on the Ohio River across from West Virginia and Kentucky. In our spare time, we have designed and built six homes. After we bought our condo, Ed served on the condo association board because we wanted the opportunity to help the association improve the property and ensure the quality of our new vacation home. The condo association property is very tropical and beautiful and the infrastructure is outstanding and well-maintained. Because we want to make sure your vacation is the best ever, we are available by e-mail or cell phone anytime to answer any question.

Nikki Graham purchased this condo in 2003

Why Nikki Graham chose Southside

In 1998, while on a cruise, we discovered and fell in love with snorkeling and Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas. The beautiful colors of the waters, the white buildings and red roofs and of course, the beautiful fish fulfilled the dream of Paradise. We enjoyed several more cruises through the years, but wanted to spend longer on the island. So in 2002, we decided to spend a week on St. Thomas. That is when we found Bolongo Bay with not only condos right on the water, but restaurants, pools and a beach within walking distance. We found our condo in Paradise in 2003 and now we can just walk down to snorkel our bay.

What makes this condo unique

From our balcony, we can watch the sunrise, weddings on the beach, sailboats, catamarans, jet skis and hobie cats plying the beautiful blue waters, cruise ships leaving at night like a small city with all the lights on, falling stars, stingrays jumping out of the water, flying fish skimming the bay, pelicans soaring past and diving into the water, hummingbirds & sugarbirds & banana quits gorging on nectar, palm trees swaying in the breeze and because of that breeze we are never bothered by insects. Bolongo Bay is situated half-way between Charlotte Amalie and Red Hook so we have a multitude of choices for shopping and restaurants.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I just want to say how much we enjoyed your condo on St Thomas and really appreciate your allowing us to get in early on Wednesday. The unit is lovely and was very comfortable for the four of us. A nice location and a lovely view. We hope to go back in the future and we just hope your unit is available at that time. Your information package was outstanding and very helpful.

Great spot

  • 5 of 5

The property was just as described and we had a wonderful time. The location is great and the views are amazing. We've been to the Island several times and enjoyed this location. Walking to Iggies was a bonus. The owners were great to deal with and very responsive.

The smell was horrible!

  • 2 of 5

It took me a few months to determine whether or not I wanted to leave a review, and I decided to based on what I look for when renting from VRBO- the reviews. First, let me say that this condo was well stocked with cookware and dishes and the view from the balcony was beautiful, except “trash mountain”. Looking straight across the bay was a hilltop mountain where all the islands landfill sits. Let me tell you, because the winds were out of the east you could smell it horribly bad so it was impossible to sit with the windows and balcony doors open when our air conditioner was BROKE for the first three days of our trip. IT WAS HOT! Nikki did keep us posted on the condo association trying to get a new unit, but because we were there over the 4th of July, it was considerably slower to get things done. The owners never offer to reimburse us for the trouble and frustration. (A portion would have been the right thing to do in my opinion)

Owner's Response: We feel we have been totally blindsided by this review. There are times when you start to feel uneasy about a renter because of demands that are not consistent with an island condo rental. We are neither a resort nor a hotel. We say "things don't always work like back in the US". First request was for a crockpot. Then five days later asked to cancel the reservation. After I responded that I would refund the next day, she immediately said they had changed their minds. Then asked if we provided kayaks. One month later, requested a change from an 8-night stay to a 7-night stay to save $200. When the website automatically requested the payment required within 30 days of arrival, she responded that she did not have the funds for two more weeks. I explained that the system would send another request automatically. She advised I could cancel if I needed to do so. Then suddenly a day later she made the payment. Within two weeks of arrival, she asked for info about fireworks, to send a shipment of food from to save money and life jackets for her children. On July 4 we received the first email about the defective A/C. Since the maintenance staff is gone for the holiday, I contacted them immediately the morning of July 5. Usually there are A/C’s in inventory, but 5 A/C’s had recently been installed in other units. The price we pay for paradise is salt-water destruction (our defective A/C had been installed November, 2014, we usually get 3 years). On July 6, the condo office advised that new A/C’s were to be delivered that day and they would immediately install. We never received another contact until the renter was leaving and texted they had forgotten to return the permit. There was never a comment about a “horrible” smell. In all the years we have been here we have never had a smell and no renter has ever complained about such. Our breezes are from the south. If they had mentioned it to me at the time, I could have asked one of my neighbors whether someone was cooking something that smelled or what was happening. My husband and I do not use our 3 A/C’s because we enjoy the breezes, the wave sounds, etc. As seen by the other reviews, many people enjoy that same thing without problem. There was never a request nor any contact in any way for a discounted rate because of anything during their stay or at any time within the past two months. I regret not cancelling this renter when suggested by them before the final payment.

It was a good place to spend a vacation

  • 4 of 5

It had a great view, and was right off the beach, however there was not an access to the beach real close. The couch was a bit uncomfortable for our taste. The shower has no door so water gets on the floor, so we had to continually clean after showers and such. The overall stay was great. We do recommend this place for a homely type stay and we have really appreciated the owners quick and helpful responses. Thanks so much for renting to us and sharing your home!

Paradise Found? Definitely!!!!

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I had an amazing trip to St. Thomas. Paradise Found is a great condo. Clean, updated, so comfortable. We loved having 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and a TV in each room. My daughter is a bit of a princess and doesn't like to share! Nikki gives so many invaluable tips in her condo book and welcome letter. It helped us to plan our daily activities and must-sees. It was great to be right on the beach and have the pool so easily accessible. Iggies restaurant was our go-to for fish tacos (the best!!) and evening entertainment. We hit 6 beaches and 4 shopping areas for the week. Everything fell together so well. The only advice I would give is make sure you get to the airport 2-3 hours in advance. We missed our flight as we got to check in 59minutes before take off and they wouldn't let us through. Needed another night in St. Thomas. But, Nikki to the rescue. No one was coming after us . I called and she allowed us to stay another night.

Owner's Response: Thank you for such nice comments. My next Welcome Letter update will add comments about the airport requirements to maybe help the next renter to avoid a missed flight.

Great Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

4 of us stayed at Paradise Found for one week. Loved the condo, it was clean with plenty of clean towels and kitchen utensils. Sitting on the balcony mornings and evenings was a great way to relax. We fed the Bananaquits and Hummingbirds a mix of sugar and water in a bowl and had visitors all day long. Snorkeling was really nice in the Bay, Coki Beach is still my favorite though. There are 3 restaurants within walking distance. We didn't eat at Mim's, but had some awesome cocktails there. Iggy's was good for fast beachy food. The Lobster Grill, make reservations, we tried every appetizer on the menu and were very happy. You are about 15-20 minutes away from everything you'll want to see or do on Island. We did our second snorkel, day sail with New Horizon's and loved that. Went to Magens Bay for a beach day and had ice cream at the dairy on the way up from Magens Bay, yum.. I would go back here any time without hesitation. Nikki was a pleasure to deal with while setting this all up.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for a great review. In all the time we have been on the island, we have not made it to the Ice Cream shop near Magen's. So glad you mentioned it and we know we need to try it soon.

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We were very happy with the condo. Clean, lots of things to do around every corner. Comfortable sleeping, nice showers and a wonderful patio to enjoy the breeze and the birds. We fed the Bananaquits and Hummingbirds daily. A mix of sugar and water in a bowl on the railing and we had visitors all the time. Snorkeling was good in Bolongo Ba,y but I still prefer Coki beach. We ate at the Lobster Grill one night and had every appetizer on the menu. It's within walking distance and Mim's had some nice cocktails. I highly recommend this condo to anyone looking to stay in a nice clean environment, with places to eat within walking distance. Thanks Nikki
