Beware this will set the "bar" for Hawaii trips exceedingly HIGH!!!

The beach alone brings a special positive energy, and the fact that you go to sleep and wake up to it every night/day makes the stay perfect. The place is well kept and I would like to say a big MAHALOS to the family that up keeps the house and property. The children will love the yard because it is so spacious and so close to the beach. The house comes equipped with everything you need for a beach vacation, the only thing you need to bring is food/drink. You will pass a Costco in Waipio, so you're good on that as well Foodland down the street. There's enough room to park 6 cars, so that's a big plus as well. The only bad part of the trip was leaving.

Simply awesome

  • 5 of 5

The photos do not do the property credit. We were surprised to find that the house was even better than advertised. Beautiful and tons of room. The house just keeps going. And what a location! Another thing that we found to be a nice surprise was the abundance of parking spaces. We went there with 16 people and we rented 5 cars to handle everyone and all the luggage. So, we had worried about parking. No worries at all. Not only can you tandem park four cars in the driveway but there is a ton of parking along that street (alley?) that runs adjacent to the home. Just perfect. My only complaint was that Verizon cellular coverage was terrible. Of course, the home owners cannot do anything about that. But the home's internet provided almost 200 mb of download speed! Wow.

Home away from home....

WOW! A very special place. It was an honour and a great priviledge to stay at The Billabong Pipeline House. Every home comfort we needed was supplied. The house is HUGE, very clean, modern, comfortable and managed well. The (three) kitchens were very well stocked with all the crockery, glasses, utensils and cooking and BBQ equipment visitors will need. Wifi, cable TV and movies supplied. The view over the beach and Pipeline is AWESOME and the house is incredibly relaxing with a positive energy that can't be described here. Easy access to beach via side gate. Expect to spend lots of time on the balcony, just watching. Several washing machines, clothes dryers, and dishwashers make for a relaxed no-fuss stay. Haleiwa Foodland Supermarket is a 2 minute drive or 15 minute walk and the Grindz truck opposite the house is great for a fast breakfast. Some airport shuttle companies will stop for 30 minutes or more at Foodland on the way to the house which is enough time to stock up on essentials and (very cheap) beer.

Amazing vacation on the north shore made even more memorable at the Billabong House!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing experience with Billabong starting from our initial booking almost a year ago to our departure from their beautiful home at the completion of our vacation. If you want a peaceful vacation retreat, away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu and Waikiki then this house is for you! I can't say enough good things about our stay and would highly recommend this house to everyone.

Location: The location itself is right in the heart of the north shore. 10 minutes down to Haleiwa for shopping, restaurants, surfboard and SUP rentals, and of course shave ice! 5 minutes to Sharks Cove, Foodland (grocery store) and Waimea Bay. Ted's Bakery is about a mile away where you can indulge in some amazing pastries, pie and fantastic breakfast and lunch plates. A little farther up the coast is Turtle Bay, the famous north shore shrimp trucks and the Polynesian Cultural Center. There are also two farmers markets close by: Waimea Bay on Thursday afternoon and at Sunset Elementary on Saturday morning. If you love fresh seafood, call North Shore Fish Express in Haleiwa and ask what their daily catch is. They will deliver right to the house!

Property: The house was exactly as advertised on VRBO. The view belongs in a tourism magazine and you can't beat the 30 second walk down to the beach. It had every amenity that we needed to make our group of 13 feel like we were at home. The kitchens were well stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals. There were plenty of staples (paper towl, toilet paper, laundry detergent, trash bags, etc) to get us through our 8 day stay. There were more than enough beach towels to get us through our daily trips down to the beach. The ping pong table was enjoyed by the kids, along with the beach toys and body boards. The house was clean and neat when we arrived and all the appliances and utilities were in great condition. We felt very secure with our small children on the property. Locked gates to get in and out of the property were excellent.

Customer service: The booking process was easy and Charlotte was very helpful when it came to answering questions about the house before we arrived in HI. The local property manager, Keiko, did an excellent job from start to finish. She was very sweet and helpful any time we contacted her. We left a few items at the house when we departed and she called as soon as they were found and promptly mailed them to us.

Beautiful, large, clean and room for 13 adults.

  • 5 of 5

The Billabong Pipeline House was amazing! It was very clean, well kept, stocked (dishes, bedding, towels) for two large families that like to cook and barbeque. We were on the busiest surfing beach of the North Shore but were not bothered by other beach goers noise & coming and going. This was surprizing as the path to the beach is right outside the yards side gate, (The house and yard are situated higher up than the beach area).

There was room for everyone to visit, eat, go to the beach, hang out on the balcony and in the yard.

The most spectacular sight was the view of the Pipeline Surf every morning as we watched the world class surfers and drank our coffee on the balcony.

The sound of the surf lulled us to sleep every night and the surf changed the beach sand formation everyday so it was new and clean.

The size of the house was large enough that if you wanted to be alone you had your own room or three living room areas to escape to for quiet time.

The house is set up with two laundry areas and six bathrooms. No waiting for the washroom ever!

The only down side was the Christmas holiday garbage pick up. The day garbage was to be picked up, it was the stat holidays. Our landlords were great about picking up the garbage and the liquor bottles and disposing of them for us.

Pupukea, the North Shore, is a great holiday destination for groups of 13 to16 people to experience "laid back Hawaii", how it use to be. I highly recommend the Billabong Pipeline House. Regards Jayne Weiss & Family, Belinda Guckert & Family, Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, Canada
