Wonderful pied a terre in Monti

  • 5 of 5

We have spent several weeks in repeated visits to Rome, in this clean and convenient studio apartment in the heart of Monti. Paola is a great host, who lives in the building. We have also rented another 1 bed room apartment in the same building. The location is perfect: walkable to everywhere in every direction (the Colosseum, Forum, S. Maria del Monte, Largo Argentina, Pantheon, Ghetto, etc.), the Subway is just up the block, and the electric bus stops on the corner. There are good restaurants everywhere, and supermarkets, bakeries, vegetable stands, so you can also cook at home. The neighbourhood is lively and fun. The apartment is well furnished, with a very useful washing machine in the hall. We recommend Paola's apartments for long term rental as well as shorter visits, and as a good base for exploring Rome and taking daytrips. Grazie Paola!

Great home away from home, friendly hostess! Fluent in English, very helpful, Great location

  • 5 of 5

We rented from this hostess on the recommendation of a friend and her family, who have stayed with her twice in Rome! Paola was incredibly helpful before and after we arrived at the apartment, providing us with maps and locations of many Roman attractions that were easily within walking distance of a short busride away. Affordable as well, which is great because we had 24 hour access, a nice warm shower and television (with bbc for English speakers), and a great pizza place directly below our window for late night snacks :)

Would 100% stay here again, on our next trip to Rome! Felt like a very safe area, with locals hanging out in the piazza around the corner socializing every night!

I often go to Rome and always stop only at these apartments. Great location, near all the attractions, bars and restaurants and shops. Very clean and bright apartment, fully equipped, if desired, you can use the kitchen and prepare their own meals. Paola very nice landlady, all ready to help. Every time a great pleasure to come back to visit her. Paola, thank you very much and see you soon!

Perfectly centrally located place

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here in March 2012 and the flat is perfect!! Wonderful old building literally steps to restaurants, gelato and bars. There was street noise, but only lent to the wonderful atmosphere. I would love to visit again, and if we do, we are definitely staying here again.

Stone's throw from the Colosseum

  • 4 of 5

This apartment is on the 2nd floor of an old building just a couple blocks north of the ancient Roman Colosseum. You are literally surrounded by the entire history of western civilization, and everywhere you walk, you can turn and see something that's been there since before the US was a gleam in Jefferson's eyes. The apartment itself is a small studio with almost every amenity you'd need for a short or long stay in Rome. The location of this particular room in the building was on the noisy side, with locals having large nightly social gatherings in the neighborhood, and even right under the window. If you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs. Lol!

But we very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this apartment. The owner of the building, Paola, was absolutely the best. She truly cares about making you as comfortable as she can. The terrace on the top of the apartment was perfect for our private wedding ceremony with a beautiful old church and the colosseum itself as a backdrop in all of our pictures. We stayed for 5 wonderful nights and it was worth every penny but our experience was priceless. If you're reading this Paola, thank you 1000 times for making our wedding special.

Wonderful Apartment and Wonderful Host

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at this apartment on May 15 for 3 nights and the studio apartment was so much more then we expected! Rome was the last city we stayed in while traveling throughout Italy to celelbrate our 20 year anniversary and this one was Awesome!! Everything was clean, spacious, modern with some antiques, the air conditioner worked great (which you need when it gets hot in Rome), the windows with shutters kept most of the street noise out, the use of a washer/dryer was perfect, and the location was incredible!! When you're staying in the apartment you forget that you're in a building built in the 16th century so Awesome!! When we arrived our host Paola was so helpful in teaching us the best ways to see Rome, the best restaurants, she was there to help out in any way that we needed including finding a company to take us to the airport for our flight home. The location was just amazing we could look out our window and see the Colosseum, all popular sights were within walking distances, and there were so many different restaurants and cafes to choose from to eat the most amazing Italian food. Staying at this apartment makes you feel like a real local and I would totally recommend anyone who is coming to Rome stay here because it is so much bigger and better then any tiny European hotel rooms. My husband and I loved it and can't wait to go back again!!!
