Secluded and roomy
We really enjoyed our stay at Redbird Retreat. There was plenty of room for the eight of us (4 adults and 4 teens). Kitchen cabinets could use some organization and room for pantry type food.
Internet was very spotty with negligible upload speed. Many of the porch lights were out, casting entire sides into darkness and requiring flashlights. We're also amazed at how poorly some people (previous renters) treat things that don't belong to them.
That said, it's a beautiful home! We were very happy with all of the things to do there (foosball, air hockey, hot tub, hammock, trails to the creek/waterfall, tubing, canoeing, movies, puzzles, and games). There are also so many things to do nearby (ziplining, hiking, sightseeing, etc).
The neighborhood roads are VERY steep and unpaved, causing some white-knuckle driving until we got used to it.
We would love to return if we're able to in the future.
Really enjoyed our stay at this wonderful location. Very accommodating host.
Great house for large family/group
House was great, 3 masters on 3 levels provides privacy which is nice. Hanging bed on deck and rocking chairs on other deck were very nice and relaxing.
The cabin is very private and secluded. We really enjoyed the wraparound porch with all the rocking chairs to enjoy our morning coffee. The cabin met all of our sleeping needs (7 individuals) and cooking needs. The only negative issue we encountered was a weak
Wi-Fi connectivity. The family enjoyed many of the local attractions: zip lining, swimming, canoeing, whitewater rafting, hiking and a day trip to tour the Biltmore Estates. It was an amazing trip!
We rented this for a family vacation. We had a total of 12. It was perfect for us. The area had a ton of things to do and see. The Cabin was large enough that everyone was able to find their own little corner for a bit of quiet. The waterfall found behind the house is close enough to hear at times. The kids loved taking an adventure to go find it. They also loved tubing in the river, swimming in the lake, and finding the additional waterfall near the lake. All within the community. We loved being able to drink coffee on the porch while watching hummingbirds. My only warning is the roads. They are steep and gravelled. Truly in the mountains and you can see that when driving to the cabin so be prepared for the drive. We have no complaints and hope to come back!!!
My family and I enjoyed this place.
