My name is Ernie. I live in the San Francisco Bay area. I have a sweet Labrador Retriever & two beautiful daughters. I try and make it to Casa Cabina whenever possible. I like warm inviting places that are cool & unique. I strive to make this cabin reflect that! Casa Cabina is a relaxing & comfortable place for everyone.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 2005
I chose to purchase this property because it is one of those true 'hidden gems'. The cabin is on a small private lake & only a three hour drive from the bay area. It's such a sweet community & so beautiful. My cabin is private & surrounded by trees.
There are many unique benefits to staying at Casa Cabina. Walking around the lake, swimming, soaking in the hot tub, fishing, canoeing, hanging out on the deck, barbecuing, hiking the back trails. There is antique shopping located in downtown Oroville, just 18 miles down the hill as well as Gold Country Casino for night time play. This is a wonderful place for children, pets & adults!!
Ernie, thank you! Kym and I really enjoyed your cabin!! Quite, very warm feeling home with everything we needed. We will remember your cabin for the rest of our lives naturally, our honeymoon destination! Kym & Dave
I had a nice time at this cabin. The view is amazing in the morning and the hot tub felt great! The place was super clean and felt like home. There isn't the greatest drive way to go up and entrance to the lake can be tricky however EVERYTHING i needed besides food was included in the cabin.
The only thing i could say negatively is the plumbing. I am unsure why but it would not flush and kept backing up....the first time it was used, so i am unsure as too why.
I HIGHLY recommend this cabin especially for what you are getting for the price and there is plenty of room to sleep guest.
I was considering planning another trip back up.
I have been up to this cabin for many years now.
The cabin is cozy, clean and well maintained.
Every morning I get up and grab my coffee and sit in the hot tub and look out at the lake.
We stayed here end of November. Perfect time to stay. We could tell during the summer, it looks like it can be full of people and not private, but there was no one in houses around us this time of year. The cabin had everything we needed and more. Lot's of movies, games, candles, kitchen supplies, towels and sheets. The best part was the hot tub and view of the lake. The deck was great to sit in the peacefulness or bbque. Such an affordable price for fireplace and hot tub compared to other places. Stereo had a great sound and TV was nice and big with lot's of channels and couches were so comfy to sit and read on by the big windows. Small bathroom and shower, but hot tub made up for that and for 2-3 people it's doable. We walked around the lake every day, but warning no fish are in there. Great place for a romantic time with your spouse.
Had a very relaxing time at this cute cabin. Great place to get away from the day to day and just relax. The lake was very quiet and peaceful and the cabin was very comfortable and up to date. Everything was clean and well maintained.
Ernie was very helpful and quick to respond with questions.
There is a great little spot across the lake with a basketball hoop, fire pit and horse shoe pegs.
We celebrated our New Years at this location, and we had a great experience. The kitchen was far more stocked than we expected, with a lot of spices and condiments and such. The lake is a great place to walk around, complete with a fire pit and public firewood, horse shoes, and remarkably social birds. The cabin included a fireplace, a reasonably widescreen TV, and one of the nicest home coffee makers I've ever seen. When searching for a cabin, our litmus test was a hot tub, and we were very pleased with the one available.
From various points of the cabin, there were maybe 3 or 4 other houses visible, but most were unoccupied, and we were there at what we'd presume is something of a peak season. And that's the closest thing to a complaint I can make. Highly recommended.
