About Valerie Ellen Fortson Eikenberg

I grew up in Michigan but moved to Florida right after college. I enjoy kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving and swimming. I still enjoy snow skiing and snowmobiling and go every winter at Boyne Mountain.

Valerie Ellen Fortson Eikenberg purchased this mobile home in 2006

Why Valerie Ellen Fortson Eikenberg chose Lower Florida Keys

It's great for snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, jet skiing, boating, paddleboarding and kayaking. On the rare rainy day - we head to Key West to do some shopping and bar hopping.

What makes this mobile home unique

It's located on a deep water canal(about 8 feet deep), only a stone's throw from the Atlantic Ocean(about 150 feet from open water) and the back country of the Gulf of Mexico. Now that's what I call GREAT boating access! Beautiful sparkling blue water at Looe Key Marine Sanctuary, just a short boatride away.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful place with us. We had a great time! We did not get a chance to rent a jet-ski-who know we would stay so busy the entire trip. Thanks again! Loretta & Scotty

Perfect Vacation with Family

  • 5 of 5

My family and I spent a perfect week at this wonderful property. The location right on the canal is gorgeous and my kids loved jumping into the water. We loved watching the boats, the pelicans and the colors in the sky. We went on a fishing trip early in the week and had enough fish to feed us for a few days. We enjoyed morning walks to Morita's cafe to get some cuban coffee. They even prepared delicious sides for us to enjoy with our fish. The resort is wonderful and my kids enjoyed the freedom of being able to bike around. We also played tennis, but we only visited the pool once since we much preferred jumping off our own dock into the water. Having access to the kayaks and paddle board was also really fun. Terry was so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. I can't thank him enough for his hospitality and I hope that we have a chance to return one day. The neighbors were also so nice. They even helped my dad in his attempts to fish. We had never been to the Keys... thank goodness that we didn't stay in Key West. It was WAY too busy and although it was fun to visit, our rental in Cudjoe was much more our speed and a wonderful place to come home to in the afternoon. Don't think twice about it... this place is PERFECT!

Wonderful getaway

  • 5 of 5

This a lovely place to stay, very safe, clean and peaceful. Our family of four plus our little dog were very comfortable. There are nice amenities in the resort and everybody is extremely friendly. Our kids played tennis and rode bikes. We swam in the ocean water, its separated and feels very safe. The cottage has all you need for a great vacation in the Keys. We rode kayaks, fished and relaxed on the water front porch. It's priced very affordable for the area and season.

Thank you Valerie and Terry!

Awesome time! TV's in each room was the best since we had some windy weather

  • 5 of 5

Terry and Valerie were great! Husband had a bike accident and Terry came to the rescue. The place is set up really nicely. Nothing like the keys! Snorkeling at Looe Key was fabulous. Really nice neighbors and the pelicans were very entertaining.
