Recently renovated bathrooms, Bonus room doubles as second tv/game room connected by breezeway which has outdoor shower, custom built shutters for the front of the house (made 2/16), and gorgeous stained front patio, walk way, breezeway and back patio (stained 2/16) .
This house is central to most parts of Sea Pines and is about a 15 minute bike ride from South beach, 10 minutes from the beach & 20 minutes to Harbor Town. There's a fully equipped kitchen with new refrigerator and downdraft glass cook top.
We love that the family living room is great for playing games, watching a movie, or just sitting around enjoying relaxing times. It also doubles well as an additional sleeping area for an air mattress and wifi throughout the house.
With 3 bedrooms, bonus room with twin and trundle, living room, kitchen, and dining area, there is always enough room for everyone who goes! There are also 3 lovely porches and a bonus room with TV/DVD and table that is great for the kids! The bonus room can even sleep 2 extra people.
In the breezeway there is an outdoor heated shower that is great for getting the sand/ocean off before going inside. There is also a hose in the back to rinse off the bikes after going to the beach!
Right out the back door there is a path through the trees that leads to the paved bike trail. The moment you and your friends step foot or pedal on that bike trail, the options are endless!!!! We all love to bike to South Beach for its tourist attractions, shops, and restaurants, to historical sites with Native American ruins, to the beautiful natural preserves with their native wildlife flora and fauna (fish, birds and GATORS included!), and especially to the beach (5 minutes away!). All make for a great and relaxing week on Hilton Head Island.
Feel free to ask us where our favorite sites are!
We have a very large family spanning 4 generations. Our house in Sea Pines provides memorable vacations in a safe and beautiful beach community for all ages year after year. The owner, Sara Caines, wishes everyone to be blessed by coming to Camelia Cottage and makes all attempts to ensure a comfortable and fun place to make wonderful family vacation memories.
House is located on a small side street with trees in the middle creating a safe environment for little ones to ride bikes, etc. Camelia Cottage is centrally located between South Beach and Harbourtown and short walk to the beach (out the back door onto the beach bike path). Our part of the beach at mile marker 26 offers less crowded beach with easy access, and beautiful views of Daufuskie, Tybee, or boats passing into deep water.
Very nice....and clean. Recently visited (7/2016) with my family of five. We had plenty of room. Enjoyed working with Donna, she was very kind and organized. Riding our bikes to the beach was simple and close. Would definitely stay here again.
My family rented this house in Sea Pines for a long weekend in March. It was wonderful. The beach was a short walk away. The house was plenty big for my family with 4 children, and actually there would have been enough room for another couple of people. We enjoyed walking to the beach each day and the restaurants, shops and attractions nearby. We also enjoyed the spacious kitchen and family area. Everything was comfortable for us and appeared to be well maintained and clean. The owner was more than accommodating and was very quick to respond with communication. I would definitely recommend this place and will be returning soon. Thanks for the great weekend!
The house was fine for relaxing and being close to the beach. The neighborhood is quiet and it is easy to enjoy your visit. There are 3 bedrooms inside and 1 bonus room attached to the garage. We did not use the one attached to the garage as it is separate from the main house and had a musty smell from being connected to the garage. Overall the house was as described and the owner is very helpful and communicates well.
There were positives and negatives. On the positive side, the location in Sea Pines is very nice. There is a bike trail right behind the house and the beach is a ten minute walk away. That ten minutes makes the house much more affordable than a beach front house (like one fourth as much), and the walk is an easy one.
The house is one story, making it very accessible for anyone who has difficulty with stairs. It has a fourth bedroom which is detached from the house, and which has a half bath, but the bad news is it is also attached to the laundry room, and is very difficult to cool in the heat of the summer. We had to turn the AC down to 69 in the main house to cool the extra room. The house has a lot of deferred maintenance issues. It is old, and shows its age. It supposedly had new flooring, but it was very shoddily installed laminate that had big gaps between the boards. The rooms are nice-sized; kitchen is spacious; bedrooms are adequate (except for bedroom off the garage). However, it seems as though the maintenance has been done "on the cheap". If that doesn't matter then this place will work for you. Personally, I wouldn't stay there again.
This house is big and roomy with more privacy than you expect to find when you rent a house in a resort.
Owner answered the few questions we had very quickly.
We did meet one of the next door neighbors, who was very friendly. We biked every day, so having the bike path accessible right from your back yard is wonderful. If you want to be one minute from the beach, this isn't really the place for you, but it works great if you like to bike or walk a lot, or if you just want a nice private central location to get everywhere. We biked everywhere in Sea Pines from here and had a wonderful time. There is about 50 feet of woods between the back yard and the bike path, so even though you can see the bike path from the house, you aren't bothered at all by the people biking along it.
Rooms are big and comfortable. Nice open area with the kitchen, dining room and living room for everyone to gather. Very warm, comfortable feeling staying in this house.
Nitpicking: If you want a place with all of the latest luxury appliances and the look of a luxury resort, you need to spend more money and go a step or two up from this house (although the refrigerator with the ice maker/water on the door is very nice). The house is in the woods, so there is no sunny area for you to sit and have your breakfast in the morning sun, but you get the benefit of all the shade when it's hot outside, so one feature offsets the other.
Highly recommended if you want to be centrally located and have a nice private setting in the woods. Great value for what you get!
Our group consisted of 7 adults and we all had plenty of space to gather together or spread out. Quick & easy access to the beach & bike path was probably our favorite part of the house. We cooked breakfast & dinner nearly every day and the house had everything we needed. The nice grill was also a good bonus to the house.
