Wonderful time in Kekaha
This is truly a remarkable home. There was only two of us but there was more than enough space for a big Family. The pool is what was on our "must"list and it was great. I am the early riser so after putting coffee on I would go for a dip while the coffee brewed and then would sit out every morning and watch the sunrise. So quiet and peaceful. You only hear the ocean and the birds. The property itself is beautiful. There is a remote gate to drive into the parking area so you feel extra secure. Loads of trees with bananas and mango. Lots of room to stroll around and right on the beach for a walk to the west. Close to the small harbor and you can watch the fishing and charter boats leaving in the predawn. The Humpbacks were migrating through while we were there and provided lots of whale watching every day.We have been coming to Kauai for over 30 years and always pick this area for it's weather, charm and quiet. Waimea is 3 minutes down the road and has lots of small shops and restaurants. There is a Big Save full grocery store that is open until 11 PM. Try the food trucks parked there daily. The hot tub heats up in about 10-15 minutes. Michelle was attentive to any issues that arises. Over all a great experience and recommended.
Even better than it seems!
The property was so private, so beautiful, and so peaceful that we basically just stayed on the deck and watched the ocean for 8 straight days. For a couple looking for a get-away this place is perfect and for a family of up to 6 this place would also be a dream. You always worry when you rent a place that it won't live up to the pictures. This place is even more magical than it seems!
Can't wait to return!
My wife and I stayed here in January 2017, for a week, with two other couples. It was our third time in Kauai. What an incredible property this is! The pictures, as good as they are, just don't do it justice.
The home is huge, much bigger than it looks in the pictures. It is also well-appointed. The master bedroom and bath are very large, and sit at one end of the house. The other two bedrooms, each with ocean views, are at the other end. In between is a very large kitchen, an even larger, beautifully decorated living room, and a separate dining room that is truly exquisite.
The pool area is fantastic! The pool itself is quite large for a private residence, with a spacious concrete and brick deck. The pool furniture is very nice, with six high-quality chaise lounges, a separate six-person dining table, and several tables for drinks and the like. The beach towels are also nice quality. We spent hours on end around the pool.
The yard area is also far bigger than it looks. It is very private, with beautiful plants and hedges. It is quite well manicured.
The laundry room has high-quality equipment and was appreciated by all of us.
The home is in a secluded area off the main highway. We did not see hardly another person, or hear or see another vehicle, the entire time we were there.
And this place has THE BEST weather in Kauai. It is on the leeward side of the island, and we had abundant sunshine every day (even though it was raining on about 75% of the rest of the island, which we reveled in :-)).
If you are a stargazer at all, you will love the dark, night sky there.
The owner was a pleasure to deal with. For example, she was at the property a month before we arrived and was thoughtful enough to send a picture while she was there. She has a caretaker for the property, a nice man in his 50's, who lives immediately next door and was available at a moment's notice for the inevitable few questions we had.
We had dinner at the house four of the seven nights we were there, because the place was too beautiful to leave. There is a high-end gas grill for BBQ.
This property is a great place to entertain, and to impress your family and friends. It is an absolute jewel. If you are looking for a fun time in a secure location with the best weather on Kauai, you will not go wrong staying here. The only downside was my jaw hurt from the perpetual smile I had on my face the entire week we were there.
This lovely rental home was absolutely everything it was claimed to be, and more! The home itself is lovely, and was equipped with everything that we needed (and many things that we didn't even use) to make for a wonderful vacation. Upon our arrival we found the property clean and welcoming, which made it easy to quickly go from "travel" mode to "rest and relax" mode. Most days we just stayed on the property, enjoying the pool and snoozing to the sound of the ocean. When we did venture out, we especially enjoyed visiting Waimea Canyon. We also enjoyed some of the nearby beaches and also the day that we drove to the northeast side of the island. Also, if you have an opportunity, check out some of the farmers markets. The fresh just-picked fruits and vegetables are wonderful. We would most definitely recommend this property as a vacation rental, and I can certainly envision us returning for another stay. The owner, Michelle, is quick to answer any inquiry and very pleasant to talk with and answer any questions. The caretaker, Neil, is also pleasant to visit with and is always available to offer advice and suggestions to any inquiry that you might have. THANKS FOR THE PERFECT VACATION!
Beverly Hills meets Kauai
This home is extraordinary. My wife and I felt as if we had driven into a magnificent Beverly Hills estate with island flair set in a lush tropical paradise. With more than an acre of ocean front privacy, this comfortable, functional estate offers unbelievable ocean views from every room. The fully equipped kitchen is very inviting. I still long for those languid mornings, drinking coffee and watching the deep vibrant colors of the ocean and beautiful grounds come alive. And this might sound odd, but the master bath and the “green” bathroom had the most wonderful showers I have ever had in my life. The koa (Hawaiian hardwood) details and built-in furnishings will blow you away – my wife and I love libraries and the koa-paneled library made us feel as if we had stepped into a magnificent colonial mansion from the 1800’s. This place is wonderful for romantic getaways and family vacations, with excellent separation between the master and guest bedrooms. The house is near Waimea and not far from Hanapepe with its not-to-miss local Friday art walk. We loved the laid back, less touristy feel; and stand by for a true light show as the stars illuminate the inky black sky on this part of the island. Book a week or two or more, you won’t regret it. My wife and I want to go back!
