Close to San Diego; In Solana Beach & Tennis Club, this spacious condo has everything you could ever want. Family friendly. Remodeled kitchen. Very large master bedroom suite. Adjacent the ocean. Our condo is beautifully decorated with new carpet, large screen HDTV, cable TV in two bedrooms, secure covered parking, and a great surfing beach. The unit features a fireplace, and balcony overlooking the tennis courts. The complex is situated on a bluff, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. This gated complex offers a pool, six tennis courts, spa and beach access.
Best vacation spot for fun and fitness: If you have not been in Solana Beach, you are in for a treat. Can walk to great shopping. Favorite surfing beach with the locals. Can walk to Del mar race track and the fair. Easy drive to Seaworld, the Zoo, and Legoland. About 1 to 1-1/2 hours to Disneyland , Knotts Berry Farm, and the wine tasting at Temeculah.
Upscale, midscale, and fast food places to eat within walking distance. Also night life.
Can walk to train station to head to downtown San Diego.
Pick-up basketball at Fletcher Cove and see the dogs play at Dog Beach, both a short walk away.
Frogs gym is first class facility with day passes.
Bike riding on Pacific Coast Highway is very popular - rental bikes nearby.
I need to say this for people who have not stayed along the beach. There is no air conditioning. Rarely does any condo along the beach have air conditioning. It is not needed. Just in case each bedroom has a Casablanca ceiling fan and there are floor fans to bring in the ocean air at night.
Grandparents with 7 grandchildren that use the place for the grandchildren. Perfect family getaway. bought it for a daughter going to UCSD and loved it too much to let it go.
Every outdoor recreation readily available.
We do not use a rental agency so can keep prices low. No better value in the area.
WOW! Can't even describe how much we enjoyed this place! This was the first time we had ever reserved a place online and I was so nervous it wouldn't be what we imagined. It was WAY better! The pictures do not do it justice! Loved everything about our 8 day stay there except having to leave, LOL! The condo manager was a doll! She met us at the gate, gave us our keys and showed us around. We told her our kids had never seen the ocean so she led us to the water which is a beautiful short walk away. We were blown away by the beauty of the beach and the view is incredible! There are benches on the bluff area which is beautifully landscaped and tiled and you can sit there all day spotting dolphins and watching the waves crash. There was hardly anyone else around. So peaceful and quite! The hot tub and pool were a huge bonus. The way the parking garage is set up is so nice. You pull in to your spot and walk up a small stair case and your front door is right there. The condo itself is four levels. You walk into the main level with a cozy sectional, a fireplace and a little play area that even has toys. Downstairs has two nice rooms with huge closets and two full baths! Upstairs is the kitchen with a balcony, a large dining room and a washer and dryer, so convenient! Up one more level to the crazy huge master that has a balcony overlooking the tennis court and other condos, there's a couch in there that folds out and a huge nice bathroom. There are sheets and towels in closets everywhere and the kitchen has every item you could ever need. Totally home away from home! We spent time every day walking the beach, collecting shells and just taking in the beauty of the ocean view just a short walk away. Grocery stores and plenty of restaurants nearby and we rented wet suits for the kids to swim at the surf shop around the corner. The t.v. in the living room is gigantic and the kids enjoyed a movie every night before bed on the big fold out sectional. So cozy. We were amazed at how quite the whole area is. So nice for a family. We loved how the highway was just a mile away and you can get to downtown San Diego and most of the main attractions in just 20 minutes or so. We couldn't think of a single thing that needs improving! We can't wait to go back and now we feel like we have a home in California 💗 Thank you so much for memories that we will cherish forever!
5 of us recently stayed here for an annual guys trip. Although it seems like you could sleep at least 8 comfortably. We all came out from different parts of the east coast and the setting did not disappoint. The condo had everything. It seemed lived in and comfortable. It's a very short walk to the back of the property to take the stairs down to an amazing beach. The condo is also just steps away from the tennis court, pool, hot tub, and best of all the ping pong table. Many games played and won. The owners were extremely easy to work with and check-in/check-out was equally as easy. We would definitely stay here again.
My parents, siblings and respective families rented this condo for 2 weeks in July-August. We truly enjoyed the condo and the Solana Beach and Tennis Club property. The condo's description on the website was accurate. The condo is split on 4 levels, with plenty of room for gathering and for privacy. There are 3 good sized bathrooms, 2 of which have been completely and very nicely updated. The bedrooms have a variety of beds to accommodate up to 8 people very comfortably. The kitchen is modern, roomy and well stocked, and includes a full size washer and dryer. The front closet is stocked with beach chairs, boogie boards and an umbrella, and the linen closet has several beach towels. The property itself has several good tennis courts and there are tennis rackets and balls in the front closet as well. The beach is a short walk away - but no need to cross a street - and very nice. Other beaches were very crowded but this beach was perfect. Nice views of the sunset from the bluff above the beach. At first I was disappointed to not be in an ocean front condo but this unit was super quiet and in the end I was glad of it. Best of all it is very affordable and the value for the money cannot be matched by staying at other properties. Overall a great place for families and we look forward to visiting again.
My family of 8 stayed in this condo for a week. We could not have been happier with our accommodations! The owners thought of everything!
We cooked several meals in the condo and had everything we needed (pots, pans, utensils, blender, plates, large mixing bowls, etc.). There is also a grill on the balcony off the kitchen.
The kids LOVED the beach! There are several beach accessories provided (boogie boards, beach balls, beach toys, beach chairs, umbrella, ice chest, etc.) So much fun! The water is COLD!! We ended up renting wet suits ($10/day) and a surfboard ($20/day) from Mitch's Surf Shop (very close to condo), and the kids played for hours. I highly recommend the wet suit rental! The waves were HUGE - I made my 10 y/o son were a life jacket. The 16 and 21 year old played in the waves for hours and were completely exhausted afterward!
We worried about there being no air conditioning in the condo. Surprisingly, this ended up being a non-issue. We opened the windows and used the provided fans, and everyone slept comfortably throughout the night. In fact, the living room required a blanket some evenings when watching television. The weather during our visit had highs of 68-72 *F with lows of 61-63 *F.
We enjoyed the hot tub most evenings. FYI, at first glace, the cover over the hot tub makes it appear to be closed, but don't be deterred--it's a simple matter of removing the cover and replacing it once you're finished.
The master bedroom balcony overlooks the tennis court. Four tennis rackets and several tennis balls were provided. The club house does have a pool table but, unfortunately, there were missing pool balls so we ended up not playing.
We visited several attractions (Sea World, San Diego Zoo, USS Midway, LegoLand, Belmont Park). It took 30 minutes or less to get to all attractions. I suggest looking into the San Diego GO! card. We ended up saving money on all attractions with the card.
The condo was clean. The beds were comfortable. There is a full size washer and dryer which we used daily. There are plenty of towels and beach towels provided, but with a family of 8 we went through them pretty quick.
BEWARE: There are A LOT of steps down the bluff to the beach. Also, the condo has three levels. It was not an issue for our family, but if you foresee steps as an issue, this is NOT the place for you.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this condo if you plan on visiting the San Diego area. Great Fun!!
A perfect spot for seeing the sights of San Diego. A family of 7, with two young children spent 4 days at this condo. Well furnished, & a great location. San Diego Zoo-Old town & the beaches were our favorite. Very reasonably priced. We have a vrbo rental in Seattle, & have stayed at numerous vrbo rentals -none better than this.
Great place to stay and have a week at the beach! The condo has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with a fully stocked kitchen, laundry, patio with bar-b-que and table and chairs. We were very pleased and would highly recommend this condo! The beach is across the complex and 123 steps down to the beach, but you don't have to find, or pay for, any beach parking. The room with twin beds can easily be adjusted to push the beds together to make a king size bed, if needed.
There is no air conditioning, but the condo is fully stocked with portable fans, so open some windows, setup a fan near the windows and the place is cool in no time. This is not a drawback with 70 degree California weather.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will plan to return on future vacations. Thanks for the wonderful place to stay and great vacation!
Just minutes from the Del Mar Race track, Cedros Design District and great restaurants. The Coaster train is within walking distance, so you can be in downtown San Diego in no time. Easy drive to Seaworld, San Diego Zoo, Legoland, and Wild Animal Park.
