About Roger or Tina
A Family Vacation in the year 2000 landed us in Puerto Morelos, Mexico. We immediately fell in love with the town, it's people and the paradise that surrounds it. Roger and I said to each other, 'WE could live here forever' Thus began our exciting adventure in Mexico.
Why Roger or Tina chose Puerto Morelos
Casa Caribbean Breeze is located 5km north of the town square in Puerto Morelos. It has the advantage of being conveniently located midway between the towns of Cancun and Playa del Carmen at the start of the Mayan Riviera, making it an ideal location to explore all of the areas nearby attractions. A 20 minute drive south of the Cancun airport you will find Puerto Morelos is the first town located along Highway 307 south of Cancun and 20 minutes south of the Cancun International Airport. Everything we needed!
We spent 6 nights here and they were all perfect! The weather was perfect, the house was everything it was sold to be and more. Small touches like having a few items that Alex stocked in the fridge made everything feel like home. The breeze off the water made us never want to leave the house! It honestly could not have been more perfect.
We did have a few encounters with nature while we were there, geckos and such but hey it just got the heart rate up!
We can't wait to go back and unwind! Exactly what we needed to escape to after a cold Michigan winter!
Overall the house was amazing, Alex was super helpful and Roger/Tina responded to every single question we had no matter how big or small very quickly.
Thank you for the great review. We are happy that we could share our little piece of paradise with you and you enjoyed your stay as much as we enjoy our time at Casa Caribbean Breeze. Hope you make plans to return soon!

This is an amazing place!!
We loved this yellow house. I love that it’s off the beaten path, but you have Alex and his wife right down the road just in case you need anything. We went with my parents and our two little ones (6 and 3yrs). They couldn’t get enough of the pool and swam all day! I actually got to read a book, which is amazing since there’s never time to relax with little ones. But, with this pool it was perfect to let them swim while we enjoyed playing cards, having drinks and relaxing. Alex and his wife cooked for us twice and it was delicious!! I highly recommend renting a car, we didn’t the first day and then my husband and Dad went to rent one the next day. We drove to Puerto Morelos and hung out for most of the day. We loved La Sirena and our favorite place was Tacos. Com (awesome margs and they whipped up some sort of chocolate shake for the kids). If you’re looking for a white sands beach, then this place will disappoint you. The owners were very up front that due to all the storms the seaweed is an issue. We even drive down to Marlin beach, where there was sand cleared, but the water was too rough for my liking with small children. The rooms were amazing with air conditioning to adjust, although I’m not sure if we could have stayed there in the summer since we got pretty warm in the main area on hot days, although we did keep the windows and screen door open for a breeze. If you’re sensitive to heat I would suggest going at a different time of the year. This place was amazing and I was really sad to leave. We will definitely be back!!
Enjoyed every inch of the Casa
We found the Casa to be just as pictured and described. Roger was very responsive and helpful while booking. We thought the "welcome food stuffs" were very generous. A bag of fresh ice would be a nice addition. The pool was a highlight, loved the "ink blue " water and comfy lounges. The rooftop deck was great for early morning coffee and watching sun rise, and we made our way up for daily happy hour. Loved the rooftop planters and ample seating. To be above the tree tops and enjoy the sea view and fresh air was a real treat. The house was well appointed and clean. The main house area is not air conditioned and even with doors and windows open, at times relaxing in the living room was uncomfortable. A/C in bedrooms was fabulous. The grounds are beautiful and the area quiet.
The Caretaker, Alex was not there when we arrived, making getting into the Casa with bag and baggage and lots of groceries semi difficult. Since we didn't get an intro "walk through" of property, there were a few things we had to figure out ourselves which was inconvenient. We met Alex the following day, very friendly got us beach towels and pool floats. We had arranged for and paid for Alex to make us a meal, however that didn't happen, so we got our money back and then found out that due to family illness, Alex would be unavailable for the rest of our stay. We understand that things happen and took care of things ourselves. We did make use of the clothes line in the backyard, a thoughtful touch for pool towels and for when we washed sheets. We love to snorkel and chose this Casa partly because it was right on the beach, however, thick sea grass build up and murky water full of weeds was disappointing so we drove to other areas for swimming and snorkeling. Travel from airport was an easy 30 minute ride on good roads.
Thank you for the review,
I am glad to hear that for the most part you had a great time. I wished all had gone according to plan but when hurricanes pass close to the area, churned up murky water is left, depositing seaweed on the beach does not help. It is certainly a hindrance when the States of Yucatan and Quintana Roo have an outbreak of Conjunctivitis (pink eye) and Alex and his family contracted it. It’s so good to know that you and friends were not exposed.
I was glad to hear that in light of all this you were able to and pull things together on your own. Sure wish the lines of communication would have remained open after my call to you. We really hope that in the near future we are able to host you and friends again without all the minor inconveniences that you had to work through.

The big, yellow house
My wife and I found the best exchange rates, at the bank office, driving out of Cancun airport, located in the same area as the gas station. Known to all, local, taxi drivers.
For great taxi rates and service, we employed Gustavo. He works for the local, Puerto Morelos, Taxi company.
If you call Gustavo within Mexico, dial 998-242-8801, if calling outside of Mexico, first dial the 52 country code and then the other numbers.
We, immediately smiled when we saw the, well built, big, yellow house. The doors open to a welcoming, Caribbean breeze and an eye pleasing, ocean and pool view.
Casa Caribbean breeze was exactly what we searched, a great property with an amazing swimming pool, close to the ocean.
We, arrived to a well stocked fridge, cold cuts, hot dogs, eggs, tomatoes, limes, avocadoes, bananas, apples, assorted juices, a lot of milk, including cereal, and everything required for a breakfast or lunch. There was also beer, condiments and other pantry goods, including a giant Vodka bottle, which we did not open.
A three story house, with plenty of space and a great, open concept first floor.
The pool area is big, plenty of sun tanning, lounging around space.
Roger, the owner is responsive and will directly address your questions.
The house description is accurate.
We enjoyed great meals at Punta Corcho, ask for Alejandro. A great person in the restaurant, hospitality industry. Please tell him, Eduardo and Cindy say hello.
Puerto Morelos has two areas, the main strip, tourist area, and the less known, Colonia, where the locals live.
In la Colonia, multiple times, we ate at, El Sazon Jarocho, local food.
In the tourist area, from Caribelos, local food, we ordered take out, assorted empanadas, caribechangas and guacamole which we kept in the fridge, to eat as breakfast.
We ate at Los Gauchos, and several times at Punta Corcho.
We, also ordered take out from my little Italy which we enjoyed. Ivano, the owner is kind and helpful.
And finally, we shared some goodies from Gastonomia Italiana Carpe Diem and the ice cream/gelato shop in town, I do not remember it’s name.
We enjoyed our time in Puerto Morelos and are happy that we stayed at Casa Caribbean breeze.
Thank You for the great review. We are always nice to hear that your stay was a satisfying experience. It sounds like you got out and about and had chance to enjoy lot of what Puerto Morelos has to offer. Not many guests venture out to different eateries like you did and it sounds like you found places that we have to try.
We will be looking forward to seeing you again.
It was everything promised, not one thing we'd change. Perfect get away for escaping the frozen north.
A slice of paradise!!!
My family and I stayed here for a week and just had a wonderful time. There were 5 adults and 2 kids and it was just perfect. The house and grounds were big enough that you didn't feel on top of each other. Loved the fact that each room had their own bathrooms and air conditioner...which was much needed on those hot days. The pool is magnificent. There were hours upon hours spent in the cool water. The beach was rough the first few days and there was quite a bit of seaweed that had washed up due to a storm earlier that week, but when it calmed down, Alex raked up the beach and it was heaven on earth. The water was so calm and beautiful. Couple things I would recommend, there is a bit of a rocky ledge drop off when getting out in the water, so some beach shoes would be helpful to have. Also, there are no umbrellas to use, and on those really hot days we had to move some chairs under the overhang for some shade. And wait for palm leaves provide some shade on the beach. So you might want to pick one up to use if able. Would also recommend to rent a car to get around. We went through Easy way car rental and had no issues. We headed into Puerto Morelos for dinner several nights and by far our favorite place was La Sirena. Highly recommend this place. We also had Alex and his wife cook dinner for us one night, which was wonderful. Roger and Tina were super easy to work with and were always quick to answer any questions we had.
Overall thoughts...My sister and I searched and searched for a place to go and a house to rent for our family vacation, and this was absolutely the best find. I would recommend to anyone.
Thank you for your wonderful review. We are glad everyone enjoyed their stay at Casa Caribbean Breeze. Not much we can do about that occasional storm that whips up and puts a little bit of a damper on things. La Sirena is one of our favorite restaurants, glad you had a chance to enjoy it along with our little town. We will be looking forward to hearing from you in the future so we can share our littler slice of paradise with you again.
Thanks, Roger & Tina
