I grew up just outside of Wilmington, NC and I have lived in Charlotte, Raleigh, and Boone, where I attended Appalachian State. I fell in love with the area when I was there and kept visiting as much as possible. Finally, I decided to buy my own cabin instead of always renting. After about two years of renovations, I finally was able to get it up for rent. I now live in Texas and I try to get back there as much as I can.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 2007
When I arrive at this cabin, I can just feel the stress of everyday life go away. And like many of the guests that have stayed here, I never want to leave. Please read through some of the comments that they have left and I think you will feel confident in choosing this cabin. It is priced right and the pictures do not do it justice.
We arrived with a family of 7 at night. Cabin was easy to get to by GPS. Close to everything and near Boone and Blowing Rock. It was 2 couples and 3 kids ages 6-8 years old. They had so much fun. Cabin was extremely clean and had all essentials. It accommodated all of us comfortably. My only complaint was the queen bed downstairs was not very comfortable. I believe the mattress might need replacement. Felt as if the mattress was slanted therefore feeling like your head was lower then your legs. Also there was a dining room chair that was quite loose and felt like it might break soon. But otherwise everything else was perfect! Kids played 3 hours of Monopoly which was fun sine it was their first time playing a board game. Parents jumped in and we all had some family fun. It was a fun experience for all. Reason we stayed only 2 days was because we were road tripping.
I have been coming to the mountains of NC since I was a child and have stayed at more cabins than I can even recall. This one was booked at the last minute so I was worried that our choices would be severely limited. Simply put, this cabin is wonderful for so many reasons. First, it is easily accessible. It is just far enough out of town, just high enough up the mountain, and paved all the way to the front door; you can seriously park about 5 feet from the front door in the event of bad weather. The driveway even wraps around the cabin so you don't have to do a 3 point turn while looming over a steep drop off. Second, it is very clean and laid out well. Lastly, and perhaps most important, it has three bedrooms with three full bathrooms so everyone gets their own bathroom. That is huge for the times when not-so-close family is with you. The porch is very nice too. The owner is super easy to work with and is quick to respond to your questions.
Some cabins offer amazing views but are isolated. Others might be huge inside but are very expensive. This cabin is the ideal balance as it does everything well at a very fair price. We will be coming back.
We had a wonderful time at the Cabin. Great location up in the mountains but close enough to activities around Boone and Blowing Rock. Beds were very comfortable. Owner is very responsive and easy to work with. Overall, much nicer than staying at a hotel. Highly recommended!
I wanted to share my complete satisfaction with renting this cabin from Rodney Sept 16th - 18th, 2016. We were up for an ASU football game and enjoyed the relaxing visit. The cabin was super easy to get to, very close to Hwy 105. When we walked in it was much bigger in person than the pictures on VRBO, a welcomed surprise. As others have mentioned it was very clean too. The kitchen has everything you need if you're doing any cooking at the cabin and there was a grill on the deck that we used one night as well.
The cabin definitely served all of our needs and more. Rodney was very responsive which is always appreciated.
Thanks again Rodney,
This is a well maintained, charming cabin that has all the little amenities that one might need. Many cabins are way off the beaten path and difficult to get to. This is not. We found it very convenient to fishing, the Linville Caverns and Boone.
The basement game room was a big hit with our two teen age kids who found video games and fussball for their entertainment.
The Master bedroom is upstairs and amazing! Everything was very clean and comfortable.
I loved the kitchen that had plenty of pots, pans, dishes and most important, wine glasses.
Rodney was very easy to work with and responsive even when I contacted him just weeks before our trip and asked if we could change the dates a little. He was great!
I would definitely stay there again.
