It's approaching the end of summer and school will be starting soon for many kids. Fall is a great time to spend time in Colorado’s High Country in order to enjoy the colors and the crisp clean air. Check our calendar and give us a chance to make your visit memorable. Looking ahead, Keystone has announced the 2016 – 2017 Ski Season Opening Date. We are getting bookings already so please keep us in mind as you start to plan for your next ski trip to Colorado. It’s never too early to start making those plans for your 2016 'Peak Season' dates. Our calendar it is always current to help you plan. Some ‘prime’ dates have already been booked so don’t wait. We’ll ‘hold’ your dates as long as we possibly can while you firm up your family and travel plans. If you procrastinate the opportunity to book may be completely lost.

In July 2013 we completed a significant remodeling project and have posted many new photos of our condo showing the results. The old wallpaper has been removed, and the walls have been painted & texturized. The new carpet, is a “plush” commercial grade, looks great, and adds to the warmth of the unit. The new Queen-sized bed and new Simmons Beauty Rest mattress set, night stand, table lamp, and floor lamp are a perfect upgrade for the bedroom. The new Cabela’s bedspread and pillow covers top off the entire bedroom remodel to enhance the “Western Mountains” feeling and decor. The new, privacy curtain, for the Jacuzzi shower matches the bedroom decor. The woodwork throughout the condo has been re-stained and we’ve installed new drawer pulls in the kitchen. A new ‘dorm sized’ refrigerator has been installed. The sofa and the dining room table have exchanged places from those shown in old photos you may have seen. The fireplace mantle has been removed, and a new ceiling light fixture has been installed over the sofa. We've just added kitchen work/storage to improve the functionality of our condo.

During Thanksgiving 2015 Bonita & I replaced the sofa bed mattress with a new, 4” quilted, foam mattress, foam mattress pad, and vinyl mattress cover, to insure quality bedding for each new guest.

Keystone Resorts is busy planning events and activities for the coming months and the associated holidays, to enhance your stay. Other area activities are always being scheduled and I can't keep up with them all so we’ll leave most of that research up to you. Check out the Keystone 'links' for more information on those local events and activities. Make your plans early for your vacation lodging. You will find our available dates on our 'AVAILABILITY CALENDAR' next to this introduction. Checking it will save everyone time and effort as you explore lodging options.

Be sure to view the gallery of photos of our condo and Dercum Mountain. Know that what you see is what you'll get. You're assured of a great view and amenities as shown, not something you're assigned at check-in from the available 'pool' of remaining units in a lodging inventory. We've seen fox, ducks, geese, crows, deer, moose, and trout (15+ inches) from our picture windows during our previous stays. We'll guess that you'll see wetlands wildlife as well. Don’t miss the chance to feed the trout from our deck, no charge. They’re great entertainment as they fight for the food. You'll want to consider the 'WOW Factor' when making your lodging choice. The photos and memories that you'll take home with you will last well beyond your departure and that's what we're doing on vacation, isn't it -- building memories?

Please call or write for additional details. If our unit is booked we can sometimes help with referrals to other Riverbank Lodge owners which might earn you the coveted 'Hero' status with your family.

If you are interested in booking and your dates are showing 'Available' contact us ASAP, either with the VRBO form or with a phone call. I will receive your inquiry, initially as an alert on my phone where I can respond via text, and later via email with answers or a rental “Offer Email”. I do my best to keep the calendar current for your convenience. Keystone frequently sells out of River Bank Lodge, 1-BR units similar to ours. If they don’t show availability we can help if not already booked. Contact us ASAP and we can probably 'hold' them for you while you firm up your plans. If you wait, that opportunity may be lost. We know you are 'shopping' for good deals. Please understand that while it's 'First Come -- First Served', we try to reply to all inquiries promptly. If your dates get reserved by another guest before we receive a positive response, there's little we can do. A response to our “Offer Email” is always much appreciated and may avoid a lost opportunity as inquiries often come in bunches for the same dates. It’s very helpful to know what to tell each inquiry as soon as possible.

Don't be fooled by other listings advertising really low rates. They may throw in extra fees (e.g., $100 cleaning fees, Key fee, etc.) or be a distance from the shops/activities/lifts & slopes requiring shuttle bus or auto travel. Our rates specify exactly what you're lodging expense will be. Nothing is hidden or added later.

My wife and I've installed two NEW 'Flat Panel' LCD HD TVs in our unit. The one in the living room is a 32 in. Panasonic, and the bedroom has a 24 in. Vizio. Our HD satellite television service provider is now Comcast via “Dish Network”, and FREE, High Speed Wireless Internet service is also provided. The Log-In information is found in our unit.

We purchased and installed a new glass dining room table and six chairs in the 'southwest' style in April 2010. The next July we added a rustic hutch for the kitchenette area, providing more storage and adding to our unit's 'southwest' theme. It has now been moved into the new ‘entry-way’ niche to make more room in the kitchen.

Our condo, Unit # 2906, is located in the River Bank Lodge, which is in the River Run Village area of Keystone. A short 5 – 8 minute, 400 yard walk will have you at the Keystone Gondola loading station. In less than half that distance you can be in the heart of Keystone's River Run Village shopping, restaurants, and night life. To make your stay a bit more enjoyable you won’t have to put up with a time consuming ‘check-in’ process. Our Property Management Company, “Book By Owner”, has installed a lock-box beside our condo door for access to the electronic swipe card key for entry. Additional cards are located inside the door, along with a parking Hang-Tag for your vehicle.

During the summer/fall of 2009, our Condo Association made a number of upgrades to the interior and exterior of the building to enhance your vacation experience. They include new carpet in the halls and stairways, a new enlarged deck on the rear of the building overlooking the wetlands, new paint on the exterior of the building, installed a new roof, and a new water heating system providing for nearly instantaneously available HOT Water, and re-sealed/stripped the parking lot. In April 2011 they opened our new workout area. More recently we’ve remodeled all ‘common area’ bathrooms. Parking is free, open-air, and off-street. There is one parking space for each unit for your car. Additional parking is available nearby, if needed. This 2015 spring, our association bought and installed new, “FREE” to residents and guests, washer and dryer units located less than 30 feet from our door, just inside of the secured, central core of our condominium, for your convenience.

My wife and I purchased this condo in the fall of 2005. We looked at many condos in the Keystone Resort area before deciding on the River Bank Lodge for the incredible view, the Jacuzzi, and the serenity. Unit #2906 is on the first floor and second from the center of the building to the right, when viewed from the parking lot. Several of the pictures you'll see on this site were taken from our 'wall of windows'. When you book with us, what you'll get is what you can see for yourself before you book. It's almost like owning our unit as your personal 'Time Share', without the tax, maintenance, and upkeep expenses.

The vista from our living room gives you the feeling that you are in the middle of the wilderness, yet you are but a 5-8 minute walk, less than 400 yards, from all the shops and the River Run gondola. The Village has several fine restaurants, coffee shops, and sports bars. For a truly remarkable dining experience, make a reservation at the 5 Star “Alpenglow Stube”. You’ll ride the gondola up Dercum Mt. and a second lift to the top of North Peak at 11,444’ above sea level where you’ll start your dining experience near a fireplace wearing warm slippers. After dinner and the gondola ride to the base, spend a romantic evening in our condo with its fireplace and Jacuzzi. You’ll have to provide the sparks!!!!!

One of the best kept secrets of the Rocky Mountains is Keystone in the summer. Keystone has two championship golf courses. For the more adventuresome guest, the gondola will take you and your mountain bike to the top so that you can enjoy an easy ride down on groomed roads or, a thrill ride down via the bike trails. Check out all of the other activities in the surrounding area to enhance your summer vacation experience.

We'd like to extend an apology to any of our guest's whose inquiries during July and August, 2010, went unanswered. Our family experienced the tragic loss of our oldest daughter and we had family business which took precedence. We’d like to extend a special thanks to those who wrote expressing sympathy, consolation, and offers of assistance. Kandace will be missed, but will be forever in our hearts, as she was our “Santa Fe Connection”. Thanks to Christina, our “Alberta Connection”, and Johnathan, we’re blessed with our first grandchild, a grandson, “Aden”, on April 15th, 2014. Our second grandson, “Caleb” arrived on April 22.

My wife, Bonita, and I have retired and moved to our new home in rural Kansas, south of Overland Park in 2007. We are both originally Nebraska Cornhuskers and had been living in Sparta, NJ for the last 25 years. I flew out of Newark as a Continental Airlines Capt during those years. Retired by the mandatory 'Age 60' rule, my wife, a Dental Hygienist, and I looked back west. We are enjoying the peaceful lifestyle in our Midwest home near our families and our new friends.

The peace and tranquility of the mountains in the distance with the Snake River wetlands and all of nature's wildlife on display at our wall-of-windows, make for a wonderfully relaxing vacation experience, no matter the season. The shopping and dining available in the 'Village' are but a five minute walk from our door.

The River Bank Lodge is ideally situated for year-round vacation enjoyment due to its LOCATION and proximity to Keystone Resorts facilities. The view from the heart shaped indoor Jacuzzi overlooking the wetlands & Dercum Mountain in the distance, is unique. Easily accommodating four adults, our unit is but a short walk to/from the ski slopes, lift, village activities, & night-life. Only a 1.5 hr drive from DIA, west on I-70, and you can be nestled in Colorado's High Country. The Keystone Conference Center is only 2 miles away, making it very handy for our corporate guests.

The apartment was a cozy one bedroom unit. Everything we needed for 2 nights. Gary (owner) was super responsive to my questions and requests and made it all very easy from arrival to departure.

Awesome Condo!

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, we had an amazing time staying here! The condo was a perfect place for a ski vacation. Its minutes away from Keystone and all the excitement in River Run Village. Gary and Bonita were great to work with and gave us great recommendations for places to eat in the area. We would love to come back here again!

This is a great little condo! The location is perfect---quiet with a great river and mountain view and still close enough to walk to the River Run shops and entertainment area. The unit is clean, comfortable, and has everything that we need for a wonderful vacation. It is a pleasure to work with Gary and we are looking forward to another visit soon.

Enjoyable Stay, Great Price, Wonderful Location

My family and I stayed overnight for a quick trip to Keystone. The room is clean, nicely furnished, and comfortable. It is a good distance from the Village and very near the bus route for the other peak. The owner is reasonable and fair in rates and is friendly in correspondence. We had a great stay.

Awesome time

My girlfriend and I went up for our anniversary and couldn't have gotten a better location for a better price. Gary and Bonita have an awesome place with an amazing view which is conveniently close to the village and gondola. Finding it was easy and dealing with the owners was a breeze. I recommend this to anyone looking for a close stay to the lifts and a close stay to the village for food, bars and entertainment.

Great Stay!

We had a great 3 night stay at River Bank Lodge. There was an issue with the door lock when we arrived, but it was resolved quickly. The condo is neat, clean, and everything worked as expected. Keystone activities are close and it is fun to feed the fish off of the back patio area. Booking was easy and it was a pleasure to work with Gary.
