This rustic cottage is the perfect getaway for families, couples, or the avid fisherman. Step out of your door and into the sandy bottom of Intermediate; a 7 mile long, all-sports lake.
Spend the day sunning on the dock and swimming in the clear, refreshing water or engaging in boating or water sports. For the fisherman in the family, the lake boasts a variety of catches including walleye, perch, and bass.
Those who want a day in the shade; explore the beautiful, wooded acres surrounding the property.
Intermediate Lake is conveniently located between the towns of Bellaire and Central Lake where there is excellent shopping at local stores and an array of great food and fine dining. Shanty Creek, Schuss Mountain, Charlevoix, Traverse City, and Petosky are just a short drive away and offer year round activities such as championship golfing, skiing, gambling, and live entertainment.
After a long day of fun, relax by the bonfire and enjoy the northern lights and constellations while listening to the lap of the lake on the shore. After a restful night's sleep, you have the next day to do it all again or try something new!!
We look forward to hearing from you!!
I am a nurse and nursing instructor in Michigan. I love to spend the spring and summer at the lake with my two, young sons, husband, and rest of my family. Our original cabin has been in my family since my dad was a little boy and I have spent every summer of my life on Intermediate Lake. It holds many joys and memories and I am so grateful that I can share the same wonderful experiences with my children!
The cottages offered on this site have been in my family for over 30 years. Many friends and families have gotten great joy out of spending their summers on Intermediate Lake. It is one of the cleanest and most relaxing lakes in Michigan and there is tons to do in the surrounding areas.
You can do as much or as little as you would like! You can spend the day sitting in a chair by the lake, listening to the waves and water or take out a provided rowboat or your own watercraft. The water is very clean, calm, and sandy-bottomed so it is great for kids to play all day long. You can swim, fish, or sun on the dock. At night a fire-pit is available as well as grilling gear. You can walk the area for miles or take a day-trip into Traverse, Charlevoix, or Petosky. There is much to do and see!
My family and I have been coming to Cathy's cabins for 3 yrs and have never been disappointed. We all would write the same great review. The cabins are in a peaceful, beautiful setting on the lake. Morning coffee on the dock can't be beat, especially if there's a bit of fog. My son's two young children play within the dock area on a nice sand bottom that has a very gradual dropoff. We bring a couple of boats each year and tie them up on the new plastic & aluminum dock. The lot is large with plenty of room for stretching out and playing games. We have made some absolutely wonderful memories at her cabins and plan on coming back as many years as they'll have us.
We stayed here Aug 14th - 19th 2010. Lucky for us the back cabin was not rented out - because we had no idea this cabin is the front cabin of two rental cabins, that share the beach front, dock, and small grill. (The owners, which are right next door, also use this grill.) Plan your meals accordingly.* * Also the stove top kept catching on fire when I used it; from old food below burners, so don't leave your food cooking and walk outside! The alarm sets off each time, so it works well.
We loved the location though. The water was beautiful. Nice dock.
The Beds were very hard and covered with crinkley plastic, so be prepared for that - or bring foam padding? There is no TV. You may want to bring a small one with rabbit ears.
There are plasic stackable deck chairs for the yard and a pinic table so bring comfy lawn chairs if you prefer to lounge.
The first day it was extremely hot and they supply one square fan. So bring extra fans if the weather is to be really warm - almost went and bought one but it cooled down the rest of the week.
Still looking for original paper work on price because I thought we booked at $600 a wk, but it was $800? Not sure yet about that. Booked last winter so need to find my paperwork. I could be wrong on that.
The young family watching the place were nice. I felt they were always keeping an eye on the place and that made me not be able to really relax outside, I'm very private person, so it just depends on if you want privacy or not. Over all the description is fair enough, just wish I'd have asked more questoins! ;)
