Welcome to our vacation rental. The home was purchased in 1991 and was used as our weekend home for several years until we moved here permanently in 1999. Our four boys and other extended family and friends have enjoyed the river access for fishing, swimming, tubing and relaxation. Sunbathing in the afternoon and campfires in the evening has been our mainstay of our entertainment
Ken Carr purchased this cabin in 1991

Our beach is enjoyable all day and through the evening
Very quiet with a great view. Thank you for making our mini vacation so relaxing and enjoyable. Our little family of four fit perfectly and the surroundings trails were great for the little kids.
I rented this beautiful cabin for myself, daughter and granddaughter to just relax in for 3 night. We had a wonderful stay. She brought her dog who loved the area too. Mona and Ken were amazing hosts. They had a crib ready for our arrival. The place was clean and had an amazing view of the river. We enjoyed just hanging on the grass watching the sun pass over us thru the trees. It was so relaxing. They had menus of special restaurants to visit, but we just wanted to cook in the cabin and enjoy all the quietness the area had to offer. They are just feet away from a train that passes by from time to time. It is loud, but I actually found that enjoyable. I would run my 14 month old granddaughter out to wave at the train, and the engineer waved back. It was really special and I'm sure she will have that memory embedded someplace in that head to reflect upon in years to come. We visited the town of Mt. Shasta for lunch and strolling the main street for their fair. Wonderful people who are just happy to be together. We will be back and I'll bring more of the family. Thank you Mona and Ken. We look forward to seeing you again very soon.
We are two well mannered Chihuahuas who were allowed to stay with our owners at this wonderful cabin right on the Sacramento River. We all had a very relaxing time and really enjoyed lounging on the lawn and watching the river flow by. The cabin was very comfortable with all the modern amenities you could imagine. We want to thank Ken and Mona for allowing us to stay and our owners say if we are good they will bring us back again real soon.
Excellent cabin with river access and a lawn between cabin and river. Our 10yr old had a great time! Neighbors were great too.
My husband and I stayed in the cabin for 3 night in May 2014. The cabin was lovely and the fishing was awesome! My husband is a big fly fisherman and he was very impressed with the location of the cabin...right on the upper sacrament river. We fished for 3 days straight and caught quite a few fish, the biggest was mine of course...a 20 inch wild rainbow trout. It was my first time fly fishing! Ken and Mona were great hosts and we can't wait to come back!
The property exceeded our expectations. We came up here for Labor day weekend and everything was really great. The fishing decor & matching house were exactly what we were looking for. It was really hot during our stay so we enjoyed the beach, but despite the heat the house kept really cool which was nice. The beds were comfortable, huge kitchen and nice back patio. In the evenings we fished as there was a decent stretch of the Upper Sac accessible accross the bridge. We BBQ'd and even hung out with the Owner Ken who was a great host and super friendly Guy.
We certainly plan to go back this summer.
My mother & I stayed at the Carr's cabin while in the area for my cousin's wedding. Overall we had a great stay. The cabin was right on the river and the surroundings were nice and quiet. I was also very happy with the communication from the owner. Would definitely stay again & would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Castella area.
