The Bonnie Nook is a very charming historic landmark. It was the 8th house built in Cannon Beach in 1908. It is furnished with turn of the century American antiques. The oak library table in the living room is original to the house. There are two small bedrooms downstairs, one with a antique double 1850's bed and matching dresser, and the other with two twin beds and antique armoire.
Upstairs is a very large room with one queen bed and two twins. There is a bathroom upstairs and one on the main floor. The spacious living room has a stone fireplace that houses a woodstove. We have wood that you can use for woodstove only and firepit only.
There is an armoire that has surround sound TV and VCR, DVD, stereo with cassette and CD. There is a closet that has lots of games. The large country kitchen is fully equipped and has an antique harvest table that seats 10.
The backyard has a large deck with two benches. It is very quiet and private and great for sunbathing and outdoor eating. We recently added a fire pit for marshmellow roasting and just sitting around the fire at night.
Once you are there, you do not have to drive anywhere (except home if you can bear to leave). The beach is 1.5 blocks, 3 blocks to town (or the village as some call it) and 2 blocks to midtown.
We have had the house for 18 years. One family has been coming for 17 years and says, 'we are so thankful for your sweet place that has brought our entire family so much joy every summer'. Other comments include, 'we feel so at home here' and 'this is the best bargain in Cannon Beach'.
Again, we have a no smoking policy. We are able to accomodate children over the age of 6. Small (under 20 pounds), well behaved, trained, non shedding dog will be considered. Guests also bring their own linens: sheets, towels and dish towels. Because of this, we are able to keep our rent and cleaning fee lower. If this is not possible, other arrangements can be made.
For you bargain hunters, please note any last minute 'specials' listed under RATES.

Margie or Gary purchased this house in 1991
In 1989 we drove through Cannon Beach and it was love at first sight. We noticed that there were no antique stores there and since Margie had a shop in Portland, we decided to open a shop in Cannon Beach. So if you are going to have a shop in CB, it might be nice to have a place to sleep at night. So began our search for a house. When we saw this cottage, we knew it had to be ours. It was sitting on the ground without a foundation, had no heat inside but it had the character and history that we loved. Gary jacked up the house, put in a furnace, new wiring and the list goes on. The history of the cottage is posted inside the house with some original photos. It is also featured in a book called 'Cannon Beach Cottages' by Jill Grady. We love that the house in so centrally located and we do not need to drive once we are there. This is especially nice when the town gets really crowded and there is no parking. Cannon Beach is one of the prettiest coastal towns in the country. We feel so fortunate to have a home here.
Great shops, interesting restaurants, long walks on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, hiking, the fresh salt air.
What a charming cottage! Situated so conveniently for the shopper or comber!
Very clean and furnished with charming furniture and decorations. We really enjoyed our book retreat! I'm really considering another visit!
My two girlfriends and I had a lovely stay at this sweet little cottage. It is adorable outside and in. Tons of charm in the decorating and super cozy. It was clean and well equipped. It was nice to be a close walk to town and also close to the ocean. The only negative is the bathrooms are small and they need a curtain to cover the whole window on the main floor bath. I always worry about someone looking in the window when it is dark out and you have the lights on, but I am probably not normal. Haha. I believe we will go back for many reasons but mostly the charm and location. Thank you Gary and Margie
This was our third stay at Bonnie Nook. It is a very cozy cottage to return to after a day at the beach (one block away). We could easily walk all over town , great location. The house is well kept and most provisions are supplied making it easy to cook, rest, enjoy games and tv. The owners are easy to communicate with and like to keep the cottage in good order. We will return again and I would advise anyone to vacation there.
This was our second year and we will be back next year. This cottage is charming and very enjoyable. Neat ,clean and well located. We are always treated well and the cottage is well cared for. Could not be better.
There were 6 adults who stayed at Bonnie Nook and each of us had our own bed! It was a short walk from the beach. Many of the supplies were there, I think we only brought sheets and towels. The kitchen was stocked with supplies which made cooking a breeze. My cousins complimented me on the great find!
The Bonnie Nook is the PERFECT place for a girls getaway weekend. It has room to COMFORTABLE accommodate 6-8 people. It is well appointed with ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that you could possibly need. We ate, relaxed, enjoyed the deck and walked to the beach and into downtown Cannon Beach every day. The owners are wonderful and accommodating!
