Roman & Kelly Bodnarchuk purchased The Rossington in September 2006. They have enjoyed every summer and winter at the cottage ever since! Over the past four years they have lovingly transformed the cottage and the property into the magical cottage it now is. Roman and Kelly love Muskoka and all the fabulous activities it offers their family! In the winter you can find them either snowshoeing or building a snowman and in the summer they are out on the dock swimming and boating!

We love the Muskoka cottage life! It's so magical and really a wonderful place to be anytime of the year. In the summer you can go to the Farmer's Market in town and stock up on all your provisions needed for the week and sample some wonderful food items! Or you can go to Monday night movie night and catch a flick! The area is wonderful and the people are equally amazing. It's a vacation location that will leave you with happy memories for years to come!
Thank you so much for a great last minute getaway! Your cottage is amazing, clean and offers all the comforts of home! Weather was hot, hot, hot which meant the lake was equally as hot!
Thanks again for everything, we loved every minute of our vacation and we will be back again next year!
We've just returned from a very relaxing week at The Rossington. The property was true to the photos on the listing, and we had plenty of space for our group. We had a few toddlers/preschoolers and they were able to navigate the steps down to the water with ease, as they are all well built and sturdy.
- cooking dinners in the well appointed kitchen and gathering around the large dining table that seats 10 easily.
- cocktails in the screened in Muskoka room. Also a large table there. No bugs!
- stargazing at midnight from the large deck, as well as the dock.
- swimming in the clear warm waters of the lake. Even the little kids could swim as there were only a few motorized watercraft during the week.
- canoe trips and stand-up paddling around the lake
- older kids enjoyed the home theatre. We were able to hook up our iPad and "screen" a home movie made by our daughter. Also, everyone took advantage of the high speed wifi.
Overall, this place has a wow factor that made us feel fortunate to be enjoying a week in such a gorgeous setting. A great vacation!
The Rossington is truly spectacular. The scenery from all viewpoints in this luxury retreat are astounding! Complete privacy, seclusion and comfort with all the amenities of home. Pleasantly surprised by the easy road access and proximity to town.
The most charming General Store in Muskoka is found in Rosseau.
From our experience both friends/family and colleagues will covet an invitation to "The Rossington"
We simply cannot wait until our return next year!
Our family of 10 rented this cottage in July 2014. I wanted to write a review to make others aware of some deficiences we found with this cottage. Screens in windows and doors need to be replaced as there were holes which made it easy for mosquitos to get in if you had the windows open (which you needed to, when it was hot outside). For any family considering renting this cottage and has elederly or disabled family memebers, be aware there are exactly 100 steps down to the dock at the water. The muskoka room off the upper level deck is a very nice room, however, we could not use it as the doors that enclose the room were hung wrong, leaving a large gap at the top for all the mosquitos to get in. There are no instructions left by the owners on how to work the theatre room in the basement. Our family tried to use this and could not figure it out ( so this movie room was useless). This cottage needs to TLC - If you are already planning on going to this cottage, the restaurant in town Crossroads is amazing - best meal our family has had in a long time. Overall our family had a great time, however, some little repairs at this cottage would have gone a long way. Owners should leave a "cottage information" type book with some instructions on their cottage.
The cottage website and the photos do not do the place justice. The entire property, the views and the cottage are extraordinary. Thank you for the best weekend our family has ever had. I was a hero to my kids for bringing them to such a kid friendly place and a hero to my wife for making everyone so happy with no travel stress that we usually have when we have to fly to get to a vacation spot or drive a very long way. Only 2 hours and 15 minutes from our house in Toronto but felt like we were in another world. Over the top luxurious. The only complaint was the electronics was a bit over whelming and to many options from Wii, Sony Playstation, BluRay player, Sonos, Netfix and two movie theatre areas. To many electronic toys in the middle of nature and beauty. The kids found it pretty cool that Danielle Radcliffe from Harry Potter vacationed here and we loved all of the Harry Potter movies and books at the cottage,
We had an amazing time at this cottage, it was perfect in every sense. The owners are great, and everything was, if not better, than described on the website. The place was immaculately kept, and the amenities were fantastic. No complaints in any sense.
