Due to the change in management companies at the start of 2012, all guest comments for 2011 were lost. However all of the comments by guests mentioned the fact the this home was extremely comfortable and quiet. They enjoyed the large deck with hot tub. They enjoyed the wildlife that visited. They enjoyed the fact that the home was nestled in the trees. They mentioned how pleasant the weather was and the fact that no air conditioning was needed. They enjoyed Woodland Park.
We rented this house for our family vacation before school started. We had 2 adults and three kids, ages 10, 8, & 6. We all loved it! There were deer in the yard every day and the house was tucked into a nice neighborhood with woods all around. When we arrived, we noticed it was quite warm in the house, about 85 degrees. We found out there was no air conditioning and the house had been closed up with sun beating in the windows, so that made it heat up. Luckily, there were plenty of fans and we were able to stay plenty cool during the week. The house is completely stocked with plenty of towels, kitchen items, food items such as jelly, spaghetti sauce, ice cream toppings, etc. The movie and game selection is extensive, in the basement. The location was plenty close to Pikes Peak, NorthPole amusement park, Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls, Cave of the Winds, Royal Gorge (1.5 hours drive), Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (feeding the giraffes is a once in a lifetime experience!), & shopping in Manitou Springs. There was plenty to keep us busy and out and about all week long! Such a fun and memorable trip. Our kids will never forget it!
My family of 8 adults & 3 small children had a wonderful Colorado vacation! Plenty of room for everyone. We enjoyed grilling & eating on the large scenic deck ! The house was so well stocked from the kitchen to the bathrooms & bedrooms. The location was great, just a short drive to many tourist attractions! I would highly recommend this house!
We stayed 4 nights in June, as we were in the area for a family wedding. We were impressed with the extra condiments and spices, plenty of towels/washcloths, even toiletries! The unexpected extras were a plus! This home was very clean, comfortable, and inviting. Unfortunately, the blinds in the two story living were left open (with the good intentions of greeting us with a beautiful view upon arrival) but the unexpected warm temperatures outside heated up the inside. With no A/C, we were unable to cool the house down until well into the night. The managers have since acknowledged that they will keep that in mind in the future so it doesn't happen to future guests in the warm months. I was encouraged by the managers' concern for addressing anything that could further improve their rentals. I would definitely rent this home again as well as work with these managers again. Oh, and we really enjoyed being so close to some hiking trails! The trail head was maybe a block from our driveway!
What a FABULOUS home for a getaway vacation. We visited Manitou Springs for my niece's wedding and spend 4 nights/5 days in this beautiful place. There were 6 adults and 3 children in ages from 9 years to 5 months old. A grandmother aged 86 was able to come as well and the steps were no problem for her. Once she was in the home she was able to spend the entire time on the main floor if she chose to do so. My daughter and husband and grandma shared a bathroom that was spacious on the main floor for the 2 bedrooms. The bedroom for my daughter was perfect as it had a pack and play in a large closet for the baby they could pull out. The living room is VERY spacious and connects with the dining area so there was plenty of room for everyone to be out together. The dining table does seat 6, but we brought in a chair from the deck and used the office chair to have enough for 8.
The upstairs master suite is amazing - large closet and very large bath with huge tub and a nice separate shower. The lowest level had another bedroom/bath and pull out sofa for the 2 granddaughters. A nice surprise was there are no futons - there are all sofa's and loveseats now. IT was a great area for the girls to play games/watch movies if they wanted to be away from all the adults. One added bonus was that there were bathroom products (shampoo, soap, conditioner) and many spices, added kitchen items etc. in the home. We haven't always had that in other homes we've rented. The deck on the house is beautiful! The views are gorgeous and we saw deer daily. We even had a raccoon visit one evening after we grilled hunting for some food. He didn't have any luck so I would take their warnings seriously as to NOT leave food out because of wildlife. We had no problems with that. The girls loved seeing him on the deck, however.
The town of Woodland Park is RIGHT THERE. We've stayed in homes before that were more remote. This was nice and handy to the stores that were needed and to the wedding/events and other activities in Manitou we took part in. However, it's up the mountain enough that you do feel you're 'in the mountains'. You don't even notice other people around. Our family loved hiking as there are nearby hiking trails. Going to Manitou took about 20 minutes at the most. If you want a place that's easily accessible, close to fun activities but you're definitely in the mountains of Colorado - this is it. We would definitely return again! Thank you!
This home was perfect for our last minute getaway. With 4 adults and 6 kids, the home was very spacious and well equipped with everything we needed. Everyone could spread out and truly enjoy he experience. The home was clean and well-kept. The kids loved the movie and game selection. We were also conveniently located to nearby attractions in Colorado Springs but the Woodland Park area provided restaurants, grocery store, and just about everything else we needed. We would definitely stay here again!
We spent the week after Christmas 2015 in this lovely home. There were 10 of us, three generations, three families, including 4 children ages 5-10. This was the perfect place for us! We have stayed at several VRBOs in the past, and this was---by far---our favorite.
The arrangement was ideal. With bedrooms on three levels, everyone was very comfortable. The house was very clean and extremely well-supplied with linens, kitchen equipment and dishes, etc., everything we needed....and more! The kids loved the basement and all the games, books and movies (although the movie selection for the children was limited). The yard was great for exploring and playing in the snow. They all had a great time.
As for the adults, we enjoyed the two fireplaces (with ample firewood supplied!), the table for card playing and board games and the comfortable furniture. Also having the garage available to use was a definite bonus! But one of the best features was the convenience to shopping and restaurants, while still feeling somewhat secluded when at the house.
We would like to return in the future if the opportunity arises. We love the Woodland Park area, and this house was perfect. Thanks for sharing your home!
