The drive up was a little steeper than expected and the view was less than expected. The cabin was nicely decorated for Christmas ( Christmas tree was ordinarily small 4 ft high in a room with 25 ft ceilings) but is secluded. The king beds are extremely hard. The water pressure is lacking ( while showering if a toilet is flushed watch out ). We lost almost all water pressure in the kitchen twice and the cabinet fronts and handles need cleaning. The hot tub got hot but had something floating in it. The floors and under the beds needed vacuuming. The owners did call to make sure we arrived and did provide firewood. We were extremely disappointed in the cleanliness of the property for the price on our Christmas visit. In order to change the channel on the television you had to go into the pantry. We have owned and visited vacation rentals for years.
Stayed at this home for my husband birthday trip! This was an amazing warm welcoming home. We will definitely stay again!
We found this cabin to be well kept with all the amenities of home. The cabin has about every pot/pan/dish needed as we were able to cook a full thanksgiving dinner for a family of 6 adults. Definitely a great relaxing place for the family - Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge type chalet but with out the nightmare of traffic & commercialism.
This place is amazing. It's the perfect combination of fresh air and cozy furnishings. The beds were so comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with kitchen utensils and dishes. One thing I really like is that my husband and I don't have cell service here (at&t). So we're truly able to unplug. This is definitely a place I hope to stay again.
We have stayed at numerous cabins all over North Carolina and this was, by far, the most peaceful. It was nestled on the side of the mountain with literally no other cabins in sight and hardly any within earshot. The cabin is extraordinarily clean and well decorated. It looks better than the pictures. Folks who have stayed here in the past have mentioned that the cabin is very thoughtfully stocked with just about everything you may need in case you forgot something. They were right. We enjoyed morning coffee on the porch while spending some time reading. I enjoyed a daily jog down the mountain and back up (practically crawling). We ate just about every meal on the porch, since the weather was near perfect. We went hiking as a family around Tullulah State Park (1 hr away), which was very scenic, but also very commercialized. We also hiked High Shaols Falls (45 min away), which we recommend. There was more than enough room for our family of 8. We are looking forward to staying here again soon.
Just returned from wonderful family getaway! This cabin is perfect for large family. There were 10 of us, and we all fit perfectly. Love two living areas, one up, and one down. Also, loved the wrap around porch. Hot tub was great! We were surprised at the well stocked pantry, and the large variety of cooking pans, dishes, etc. the only reason I did not give 5 stars is the drive up to cabin and down. Don't think I could ever do this in the dark. Really love this place. Hoping to make this a yearly getaway.
