Beautiful 4 bedroom/2.5 bathroom farmhouse style house located on 7 secluded acres, only 2 hours from New York City in the town of Narrowsburg. The property has a new pool/stone patio and tennis court which are both peacefully situated among the trees. The house features wide plank hardwood floors throughout, stainless steel appliances, a stone fireplace, washer/dryer, highspeed DSL/WiFi, and flat screen DVD/VCR player.
The house was built by award winning designer and won the 2005 Sullivan County Showcase Award for 'Best New Residential Construction under 2500 sq ft' (house is just over 2400 sq ft).
Narrowsburg is the ideal vacation spot in the Catskills as it is centrally located and in close proximity to other charming towns including Callicoon, Jeffersonville, Barryville, and Bethel. The property is less than 10 miles from the Bethel Woods Performing Arts center which has a great line-up of summer concert events and the area supports a full array of both summer and winter activities.

We have spent a lot of time creating a paradise for you to enjoy during a respite away from the city. For a family with kids, there's really nothing else we can imagine wanting out of a vacation than this beautiful escape at Tusten Farms.
The Catskills is a great family getaway for those of us living in the City. Everyone needs an escape, and Sullivan County offers everything we want our kids to experience--nature, hiking, swimming, bike riding, exploring, the stars, having a BBQ, just relaxing with no one else around!
We rafted in the rivers, swam in local lakes and walked in the Catskills and returned for BBQs in the evening. There were deer eating the grass round the property and we saw a bear twice within 5 minutes drive of the house. The house is a large place which accommodated two families of four with ease. The large washing machine and dryer combination was useful and the kitchen facilities were excellent. The description was accurate, the property was clean and well maintained.
Our extended family of 6 adults and 4 children just spent a week in the woods at Tusten Farms Manor House. Nearby relatives often joined us for dinner and we comfortably seated 12 around the big dining room table. The pool is just as beautiful as pictured, the tennis court is in perfect condition. Stan was always available to answer questions. Cell phone service is spotty but bear sightings are a definite possibility. The town of Narrowsburg is a 15-minute drive and has a grocery and a block of charming shops. At least one restaurant, Heron, is excellent. Our history buffs enjoyed a visit to Minisink, site of a Revolutionary War skirmish. The hiking paths were easy enough for our 3 year-old and wild enough to satisfy the older boys. There is a great farmers market in Barryville, another in Callicoon.
The house was clean, well furnished and maintained. It is the last house down a gravel road--luxuriously remote.
My wife, 2 year old son and I stayed at Tusten Farms Manor House for a week in June and really enjoyed ourselves. We were looking to get out of the city and just spend some quality time together (most of our trips seem to be with friends or extensive family). The house is at the end of private road with only two other homes and is surrounded by trees. You can't see the neighbors and it certainly makes you feel like you have your own bit of peace and quiet. The tennis court and pool are situated a little bit away from the house and are themselves surrounded by trees which makes for a great setting as you feel like you're swimming or playing in the middle of a forest and not in a backyard. We used the pool every day. The home is well kept and the owner responsive in terms of answering questions, returning the security deposit, etc. The drive from/to Manhattan was about 2 hours but on the way we took our time and stopped at Whole Foods and a few other places to pick up items for the week. If you're looking for fresh air, quiet, and a nice home with pool to enjoy both (i.e. a break from the city) then Tusten Farms Manor House is likely for you. It was one of our more relaxing, enjoyable trips.
My family of 4 (two kids, two adults) stayed for a week at the house July 4 week and it was perfect. All the pictures of the house are accurate and the home was very clean. We loved the flow of the house as it was easy to watch our 2 year old, yet have our own space. The pool was great and we enjoyed the privacy of the property. There are enough things to do in the area without being overwhelmed. Half the family did a kayaking trip on the river and we all visited the Farmers' Market in Callicoon but otherwise just hung at the house relaxing and swimming. We'd love to come back next summer, maybe with some friends.
We had an amazing stay! The property, pool, and tennis courts far exceeded our expectations. Everything was beautifully maintained. The owners were great! They provided an amazing book of information and local attractions and checked in to see how we were enjoying our stay. I look forward to my next visit!
We had an amazing time. The house was perfect. Everything you needed was at your fingertips. And the pool and tennis court were unexpectedly well-kept. The house was clean and fresh. Bright and comfortable. The location is lovely and centrally located to many towns and stores. While we were still there, we tried to reserve it later in the summer, but our dates were booked.
