Views, views, and more views from this elevated waterfront home with oversized deck for relaxing or entertaining. The top floor has an open living room, dining room, and kitchen overlooking the ocean from all views. Seven sliding glass doors open to a huge wraparound deck with breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. Watch the working lobster boats and then stroll down to the wharf to buy your fresh lobster directly from the lobstermen.
Rental includes use of shared dock for swimming or kayaking. Walk seconds away to swim, fish, kayak, explore or launch your boat. Rental also includes passes to Totman Cove, a beautiful private (town-owned) sandy beach down the street. Also down the street is Sebasco Resort with golf, tennis, boating, kayaking, playground, spa and two restaurants. Spend the day at famous Popham Beach, just 5 miles away, and then return to the solitude of and spectacular views from this house.
We had such a good time that it was truly magical. My oldest, from Oklahoma literally had to be dragged out of there. None of us had ever rented a home on the ocean before and the grandkids, being from a landlocked state, just couldn’t put it into words. We did SOOO much – Totham Cove, Popham four different times, whale watching in Boothbay, the Good Food Farm, Anna’s Waterfront Restaurant. Cooked Lobsters and steaks the last night and had a New Orleans’ “boil”, shopping in Freeport and Bath on the waterfront. We walked to the Cove at the bottom. Still tons to do that we didn't get to so definitely would like to come back.
It was a perfect place for such a large family and the deck is incredible! There were 10 of us and absolutely plenty of room for everyone to have their space. We would highly recommend this place and hope we can come back sooner rather than later. Sara was gracious and helpful and wonderful to work with in planning our trip and accommodating our schedule.
The site is beautifully situated with a balcony deck on which we spent all but the sleeping and outside beach, hiking, boating moments. The views are spectacular. Our family of six adults and four children had plenty of space in the living room and dining areas. Access to the beaches was easy, including vast and lovely Popham beach and the smaller Totman Preserve and Cat's Cove ( a three minute walk). Owner was easy to work with. The kitchen had everything we needed and plenty of space even for a group our size. I would highly recommend this home without any reservations to any family or group that wants a real Maine Coast experience.
We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with our kids & grandkids. This house and where it is located is breathtaking. We stayed a week and didn't want to leave. The house is beautiful, the view even more beautiful. Everyone we dealt with was very helpful and made our visit great. I would go back in a heartbeat.
There were 8 of us and we had plenty of room. The views were spectacular. Love the wrap around porch.
All three generations loved this house. Open floor plan of the top floor has plenty of seating to eat inside or out on the incredible deck. Wifi reception was good. The ten of us and our dogs did not feel crowded. Each morning, we watched the sunrise as the lobster boats headed out. Evening brought us to the other side of the deck as the sun set. We saw beautiful skies with falling stars. You can see the water from the open living/dining room, the master bedroom and the first floor in-law apartment door. Even sitting on the back lawn chairs, you have a view of the bay. This is a roomy house that has very comfortable beds and couch. Everything was spic and span when we arrived.
Water view from the kitchen sink! Plenty of counter space for our many prep chefs. Lobster pots, coffee maker, plenty of dishes, mugs and glasses made it easy and enjoyable. There is a kitchen on the first floor and third floor so you have plenty of refrigerator space.
The kids loved going down to Carrying Place to watch the unloading of fish and lobsters from the boats. This is where we purchased the freshest, best lobster we have ever had.
We could portage or drive the car down with our kayaks to Cats Cove. Everyone loved the calm waters with islands to paddle around. This small beach had plenty of sea glass, sand and shells to keep the 4 and 6 year old happy. Also good for a swim.
We walked the 2.5 miles to the dog friendly town beach but no need to since there was plenty of parking and passes are provided. This beach was not crowded even during one of the hottest weeks in Maine. Take a ride to the beautiful state beaches of Popham and Reid.
We loved our excursions to Five Islands, Georgetown for lobster rolls, Bath shopping at Reny's, Made in Maine, various boutique stores and pizza from the Cabin.
If you want a quiet Maine sea village with some tourists, artists and locals, book this West Point, Phippsburg house. Everyone was so friendly. The owner Sara was helpful and responded to all of our questions before and during our stay . We will be back.
We had a blast on our recent trip to Phippsburg. The house is located close to several beaches and restaurants. It has plenty of space for a big family and the views are amazing. Highly recommend to those looking for a great place to stay in Maine.
