Stylish, comfortable, spacious and fun, 'Salsa' overlooks the Sea of Cortez and the San Jose Estuary on the SE corner of the recently completed Alegranza Resort. This colorful condo enjoys a panoramic view from a convenient hilltop, walking distance to San Jose del Cabo's historic downtown and miles of sandy beaches. Perfect for a romantic couples' getaway, a seasonal escape for snowbirds, or an active sports-oriented family vacation. Short-term stays may be booked for imminent stays, but this year we've decided to make Salsa available on a long-term, year-round lease, which we'd prefer.

Your options for the nearly 350 glorious days a year with sunshine: *relax away from the crowded timeshares and hotels, participate in active water sports including snorkeling, kayaking, surfing, flyboarding, stand up paddling, or swimming with dolphins, *feel the sand underfoot, spread out your picnic, or build sandcastles on a variety of local beaches, *treat yourself to spa services, *swim laps or lounge around pools and jacuzzis, *work out at the fitness center, take a steam shower or sauna, *golf, *play tennis under the lights, *gallery hop and taste wines from Central and South America at art walks in this Spanish mission town, *listen to mariachis, *dine in fine international or casual restaurants or cook in our well-equipped kitchen, *sip coffee or wine on our breezy veranda with great views day or night, *explore the wild desert terrain on an ATV or in a Jeep, *ride horses, *dance to a live Latin band, *shop, *enjoy the theatre or at-home movies, *photograph or paint wildlife at the estuary, sail, parasail, or fish--deep sea game fishing, fly-fishing, trawling, or spearfishing.

Salsa's 2,010 square feet are furnished to 'wow' you. Artwork celebrates the joy of Latin dance. Hand-painted furnishings were custom-crafted in central Mexico, while comfy sofas, upholstered with vibrant Susan Sargent fabric, were imported from the U.S. We selected pottery, lamps and accessories from Cholula, Puebla, Guadalajara and local studios so Salsa's residents and guests can experience an exciting part of Mexico's culture.

Flexible bedroom arrangements feature imported top-of-the-line mattresses and linens. The square dining table seats 8; the large antique pine table on the terrace for is just right for your outdoor meals or beer, chips, and salsa. We supplemented the resort's wireless internet with our own wireless service. Good audio, and 3 HD TVs, Sony AirPlay receiver, 2 speaker zones, cable TV and Roku, lots of CDs and DVDs. Keep your car cool in our reserved underground parking.

In short, this condo is CUSTOM BUT NOT COSTLY-- more features than the standard 2-bedroom, better decorated and equipped than the three variations of 'package furniture deals,' plus commanding third floor views and a garage -- but not any more expensive than the standard offering. A special treat and a good deal. A DELIGHT FOR THE SENSES -- A PLACE OF PRIVILEGE -- AN EXCELLENT VALUE.

We selected Alegranza Resort for its expansive vistas, elegance and privacy, beach and town proximity. We could have bought in Cabo San Lucas or directly on San José del Cabo's beach; Alegranza offers much more for people like us who don't want to just park ourselves in one high-density spot on the sand for a whole week! Our view sweeps from the Punta Gorda hills to Punta Palmilla, including the lush estuary, fishing boats on the sea and ultralites above it, breaking waves on sandy beaches, bright green fairways, rugged mountain peaks, and sparkling city lights -- more extensive vistas than direct oceanfront. And Alegranza guests enjoy privacy between units. We love San José's charm and history, its upscale restaurants and galleries and a wonderful central plaza, in the quieter of the two Cabos. And, with nearby beach, pool, and spa access -- this is the best of both worlds.

With its international architecture commissioned by the Spanish singer-developer Enrique Iglesias, Alegranza Resort is fresh and new. The staff is friendly and accommodating, but not intrusive. Here you can experience living in a historic Mexican town, and still enjoy the sports and activities of a resort--from room service to babysitting, airport transportation to personal grocery delivery, concierge service, cooking lessons from an extremely creative 'spontaneous cuisine' chef, and many other amenities!

Nearest Beach: 1/2 mile away (2 min. drive or 15 min. walk) palapas and a wide sandy beach connected to the miles long public beach adjacent to the fascinating bird sanctuary, but often subject to strong currents

Our Favorite Swimming Beach: Palmilla Beach, 5 -10 minute drive - fishing, boating, swimming, snorkeling, stand up paddle, lifeguards. Swim either in the open sea or in a protected cove just to one side of a breakwater.

Why Chris Smith chose San Jose del Cabo

San José has everything other resort areas offered, plus lower humidity and a friendly local community! We feel safe. Convenient to have the airport only a few miles away, with many non-stop flights to the US & Canada.

We've vacationed in Cabo San Lucas, P.V. and Cancun, but prefer San José del Cabo because of its cleanliness and historic Spanish Colonial character, peace, and charm. San José's restaurants and Art District are great. CSL is easily accessible by car, but we're happy to be away from Cabo's American retailers, competing loudspeakers on the beach, in the marina, and on cruise ships and tourist boats. San José is a friendly, authentic Mexican town with upscale offerings for visitors.

Alegranza's amenities and luxury finishes meet our high standards, and the generous interior space means we vacation in a home, not a cramped hotel room, dated condo, or generic timeshare. Each day we can venture out to enjoy a different location or activity. Sometimes we escape the sun by opening all the glass doors to enjoy the views and breezes from indoors or outdoors on the huge covered veranda. Chris can play tennis and Toby can swim laps every morning.

What makes this condo unique

•  UPGRADES: Salsa has a Jacuzzi bathtub, master bedroom safe, multiple speaker zones, extra lighting, GE Monogram cooktop and hood, additional ceiling fans, extra marble in backsplashes and baseboards, and a custom-built day bed on the terrace;

•  FURNISHINGS: The furnishings are not one of three standard 'hotel packages' but rather, custom designed and furnished including original art and quilts made by the owner, special painting, and much more than standard kitchen supplies;

•  MANAGEMENT: We are conscientious owners who provide an extensive guest information wiki/website and guidebooks, and we also have on-site property managers to handle check-ins, orientation, concierge services, and any necessary repair or assistance that might arise, with attention down to even just changing light bulbs for our guests.

•  ELECTRONICS: Salsa has its own internet service in addition to what the resort provides, so those staying here have several options when the resort's system goes down; and there's a desk with a color printer-copier, 3 HDTVs, an iPod dock, RoKu, and a large library of DVDs and CDs;

•  PARKING: Salsa has a well-located reserved parking spot right out front and a rare reserved parking space in the garage at the base of our elevator (only two of the six buildings even have garages, and the limited number of garage spaces were sold separately; they keep cars cool from the sun and make for easy loading and unloading of luggage, groceries, etc.)

•  HONEST ADVERTISING: The photos on our website and listings were all taken in our own condo. (Some other listings which post photos from the best models, even though the prices quoted are not for units located there or furnished like that).

Lovely, first class rental

My husband and I have rented furnished accommodation countless times, all around the world, and this was definitely one of, if not the very best. The suite is outfitted with quality everything. (I had to email the owner to rave about possibly the best bed ever!) Alegranza is an extremely well-managed, well-maintained property. Basically, I can't imagine you finding anything better in the area. We are very fussy about cleanliness and quality, and were very pleased with everything about the Salsa suite.

Girl's Trip

This property was by far one of the BEST I have ever stayed in! Starting with the owners (Chris), to the concierge (Lucy) and her co-workers, to the security (whom made 4 women lodging by themselves feel very safe.), and the chefs at Casinos all were outstanding. The property was well groomed. The nieghbors were very nice. The property itself was beautiful. I really appreciated the detailed instructions Chris left for the property. It was very helpful and informative. I would definitely recommend staying here for peaceful stay. Oh, and the balcony was Fantastic. Really nice at night! I look forward to staying at this plac again.

"Salsa" and Salsa

This was our first trip to Los Cabos. We were thrilled to find out we made a great choice on location and accommodations! We loved the quilts -- beautiful! Golf was excellent and the day at El Ganzo for the beach and pool was fabulous. We will definitely be returning. Thanks for the use of your home and all the recommendations. We also think Flora Farms should not be missed -- great salsa making class. Thanks again.

Newly retired couple

Salsa was the best VRBO condo that we have ever booked! The condo is beautifully and thoughtfully finished and within no time at all, it felt like home to us. We took full advantage of the property amenities such as the gym and the pools. Our favorite spot ,however, was the expansive patio where we enjoyed our morning coffee, our evening meals and the space to easily entertain friends. The expansive view of the Sea of Cortez never ceased to awe us.

The town of San Jose del Cabo is a short walk from the condominium and provides many dining and cultural opportunities. Saturday Organic Market, Thursday evening Art Walk and Sunday entertainment in the town square to mention a few. Best beaches do require a car to get to but you can easily walk to a non-swimable beach in 20 minutes (longer coming back as it is uphill)

We so thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this condominium and the surrounding area that we have already booked to return next winter.

A Glorious Memory Maker- Uncompromised Accommodations-Breathtaking Panoramic Views

We chose San Jose del Cabo for easy air travel, inviting beach water temperature, magical sunrises and sunsets, the promise of tranquility, and adventure within minutes in any direction. The property at Alegranza is without question, uncompromised. Our stay at condo "Salsa" with its charm, and comfort gave us exquisite accommodations leaving no amenity forgotten. We were pampered with the first contact we made to arrange our stay. No question was left unanswered, property location, packing suggestions, weather forecast, property amenities were all clearly presented. The online photos are beautiful, but no camera can portrait what we have experienced firsthand by having stayed at condo "Salsa". There is a feast awaiting your senses upon opening the front door of "Salsa". Flair, color and artistic design welcomed us in. "Salsa's" beautiful, spacious, comfortable setting positioned my husband and I for every spectacular ocean sunrise and sunset. The amazing views from every sofa, lounge or bed and the ocean breeze soothed us into peaceful bliss. Pleasant cultural music, in the distance, was a gentle reminder of how close we were to a variety of cultural attractions, art galleries, restaurants and of course the beaches. Our thanks to the owners is eternal, as they have successfully made "Salsa" as much a vacation highlight as any other aspect of our getaway to Cabo. My husband was especially pleased with the opportunity to grill "his" bountiful catch on the balcony with the ocean views before him. The 200 plus pound Blue Marlin and the fight of Yellow Fin Tuna were also the subject of e-mails and text messages during our stay and after our return home. We didn't have to spend a day out catching prize winning fish to get exercise, it was much easier to go downstairs to the gym to workout, swim in any of the 3 pools on site,or relax in the sauna. At the end of the day a muscle relaxing time in the Jacuzzi was an additional welcomed treat. The property was immaculate. We would highly recommend condo "Salsa" for its location and superior ability to deliver an valued unforgettable vacation package. We plan on taking our family vacation there, it has something for every age, interest, and level of activity. "Salsa" is well equipped to insure your enjoyment. Walking, taxis or car rentals are easy and accessible to get to nearby shopping, sightseeing, and restaurants. Thank you to the owners, our stay in condo "Salsa" at Alegranza was amazing.
