Experience Mexican living in the heart of Puerto Vallarta's Zona Romantica!
Relax in the serenity of a private home away from the noise of condo living, yet steps away from all the action of Old Town.
Casa Valentin is a refurbished (2003), four-level casa tucked away on a hillside just 5 blocks from the beach and two blocks from Basilio Badillo, the famous 'restaurant row' of Old Town Puerto Vallarta and home of the new Club Manana. Just one block the from Adventure/Tour companies and Zip Line excursions, this is the perfect location for your next vacation.
Reached by a wide public stairway, the casa rises heavenward to afford sweeping vistas of the region. The roof-top terrace (level four), complete with outdoor kitchen is an amazing place to lounge in the sun by day, watch the fireworks over the bay by night, or just sit back, sip a margarita, and soak in the view any time. Sitting above the tree tops you will feel like you are in the jungle, perched above the city below, yet minutes from the action, you will find Casa Valentin the perfect blend of Mexican charm, privacy and proximity to all that Puerto Vallarta has to offer
The living/dining/kitchen area on the third level is framed by three arched windows looking out over Old Town to the bay beyond. A new, full bathroom with a tiled shower, travertine basin and copper mirror complete this level.
Two one-bedroom suites, each with a tiled bathroom, new furnishings, private entrance, and outdoor balcony, comprise the second level of the casa.
One bedroom has a king size bed and the second bedroom has a set of twin beds. sleeping four persons (or six if the inflatable Aerobed is used on the third level).
The lower level is a complete one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment with a courtyard patio and private entrance. This apartment has a trundle couch in the living room for additional sleeping and can accommodate four people. This is a perfect set up for extended family groups and couples traveling together as there are many private spaces as well as places to gather together. And it is all within walking distance to all the action of Old Town!
The private garden and heated dipping pool are in our courtyard. A laundry room with washer and gas dryer in lower unit.

We are two brothers and their wives who fell in love with Puerto Vallarta on vacation and decided that the best way to keep returning was to have our own home.
We signed the purchase papers on Valentine's Day 2002 and Casa Valentin was born. Remodelling, reconstructing, furnishing and adding a dipping pool took the better portion of 2002 and 2003. It was an exciting and adventurous undertaking (and frustrating at times) but we love the result. Would we do it again? In a heartbeat!
The Owner purchased this villa in 2002
Puerto Vallarta is an enchanting city with wonderful food, galleries, shopping, nightlife, beaches and the most amazingly gracious and hospitable people. Old Town (Zona Romantica) is an especially charming area of PV where a visitor can truly be immersed in the Mexican culture.
Casa Valentin enjoys a unique location from which you can easily walk everywhere, yet still enjoy fantastic views over Old Town and the Bay from the upper levels. Once you have enjoyed your morning coffee on the rooftop terrace watching the city come alive, or ended your evening watching fireworks over the bay, you won't want to stay anywhere else.
Great location close to everything in Old Town, but in a quiet spot away from the hustle & bustle. We stayed for 5 nights to attend a wedding and really enjoyed Casa Valentin! The roof top deck is a sweet spot to hang out, and has great views! The keys were a bit tricky and somewhat of a hassle at times, but we got the hang of it. Make sure you print out the map that Pam sends to show your cab driver, as it is a bit tricky to find at first. It is a bonus that each bedroom has its own bath, plus there is a bath with shower on the living room level if you have someone using the Aerobed there. Overall, a great stay and I would definitely stay again when we are in PV!
We stayed at Casa Valenin for two weeks. At first I was skeptical about the area but later became very comfortable. This place is good for a group as you can easily spread out over all the floors, hang out on the roof top, third floor living room or sit by the dipping pool but the stairs could be a definite challenge for a person not physically fit. I wouldn't recommend this for young children. Using all keys became a routine after a while.
the location is perfect for people who like to walk. Abundant restaurants, live theatre, markets near by. We cooked many meals , a BBQ would have been nice.
We won't forget the warm evenings on the roof top watching the fireworks over the Bay.
The only negatives are the noisey busy road and stairs to get to the casa. Lugging golf clubs, suit cases, and Costco groceries was not easy.
It has been several months since our fabulous visit to Puerto Vallarta, staying at Casa Valentin. We wish we were still there and hope to return as often as possible. I cannot imagine a more relaxing accommodation than Casa Valentin – plenty of room for gathering together as well as being off to one’s self, all under the same roof. The views, the décor, the breezes, the location, the dipping pool were all perfect! My only reservation is letting others know how great it is and motivating them to be competition for time there. A friend of mine has recently bought a condominium not far from Casa Valentin and it really doesn’t compare. When she saw my photos, she kept saying, “Was that part of your place too?” Thank you to Sherry& Pam for creating and sharing this glorious hide-away.
We recently stayed at Casa Valentin and were quite impressed with all it had to offer! We were a group of four and rented only the upper portion and it was the perfect size for our group! The dipping pool was lovely after a long hot day, the kitchen had enough supplies to make a nice meal, and the rooftop terrace was ideal for relaxing at any time of day. The bathrooms were plenty large and there was an abundance of towels :) And don't let me forget that the location is prime time! The house is just steps from old town, no need at all for a car. We will definitely be back!!
One thing to note: the stairs are seriously business and not for the faint of heart. We are four athletes and still found ourselves huffing and puffing after each trek!
We stayed as a group of friends coming to Puerto Vallarta for a friend's wedding. Previous reviews are spot on and I echo them all in full, the Casa is perfect. Even better than the pictures.
All of the bathrooms are very nice, abundant linens, extremely clean and well maintained. Carlos was friendly and helpful and entirely unobtrusive. The detailed and helpful instructions we received beforehand made our rental experience seamless, I could use the provided map and excellent wifi to map out the best taco stands. Good dippin' in the dippin pool. It's a quiet neighborhood, so we enjoyed making use of the stereo during the day while occasionally taking the party out at night, occasionally bedding early to wake up and watch morning rise over Vallarta on the perfect rooftop terrace.
Great location a few blocks from the water which is just far enough to enjoy some quiet and the charming (and even more affordable) Old Town vibe, while still extremely close to the beach and night action if you want it. The area is incredibly safe and people are friendly, and the Casa is built like a fortress besides. I can't imagine a better location. I love the slightly off the path feel of Old Town, it's remarkable to me that there is this beautiful and more locally oriented rustic feeling area smack dab next to the (Los Meuertos) beach in this resort-heavy, tourist-dependent town. What a unique joy that a trip to the beach felt like a journey from treetop Casa through antiquated neighborhood that time almost forgot to hot spot tourist destination in the span of a four (small) block walk. All of Vallarta is beautiful, but as someone who was skeptical of visiting what I thought would feel like a resort town, this whole neighborhood experience was particularly special for me. It's also painfully easy to catch a cab or walk two blocks to the bus stop.
Old Town is too good to last and Casa Valentin is your perfect gateway. I cannot recommend this place enough. I'm hesitant to submit this because I want to plan my next trip back already!
We stayed at Casa Valentin during New Years 2012. What a fantastic house! Our group (6 people) fit easily. We used the kitchen level as a sleeping area since there are air mattresses, but there's also a pull-out sofa in the lower apartment. We rented both. The pool and patio are very nice, a relaxing oasis after a day at the beach or at one of many attractions. I also loved the proximity to PV restaurants and nightlife. We all found it a very convenient home base for exploring PV by day and night! The roof terrace is fantastic. Also, the owners are wonderful, and provided lots of info about the town. We had an excellent experience booking and arranging the trip. Can't wait to go back.
