Ground floor loft style apartment filled with light and art. Newly refurbished. Large bathroom. View of the Pyramid from most windows.
Easy walk to Chinatown, embarcadero, downtown, and fisherman's wharf (VERY centrally located). Public transportation, banks, restaurants, cafes, galleries & shopping all within three blocks.
Imagine bumping into Laurence Ferlinghetti, Sean Penn, Francis Ford Coppola or aging rock musicians. It could happen to you!
This is a very comfortable and very well equipped apartment in a great location. A ten minute walk in any direction will take you somewhere interesting - the Water front, Coit Tower, Chinatown. The area is quiet but you are only steps away from many fine restaurants. Sherry the owner is delightful and full of information. It was my first visit to San Francisco but I am sure it won't be my last.
Stayed at this apartment with my daughter for her 21st birthday, mother/daughter spring break. It was the perfect size for the two of us, with just enough space for separation and a large bathroom. Great decor, apartment is bigger and looks even nicer in person than through pictures. We felt at home immediately. The apartment had everything we needed for our stay. It was also very quiet and safe in a nice residential neighborhood. Location is perfect; yes you are on a hill, but outside of the wharf area, I don't know who wouldn't be! There is easy access to where ever you want to go in this fabulous city. Don't bring a car-I can't fathom negotiating street parking! If you are flying in, we found airfare much cheaper flying into Oakland rather than San Fran directly. It was just a short train ride under the bay to the Embarcadero station and then a 5 minute taxi ride to the apartment. This was a much cheaper route than shuttle or taxi rides from the airport (less than $30 for two people).. We also bought a 3 day MUNI pass and used this to take a bus for distance touring like Haight/Ashbury and Union Square. The bus stop is only a couple blocks(take the steps down Kearny to Columbus and there you are. It is steep walking in parts, but we averaged 5-6 miles a day no problem. From Sherry's apartment you can easily walk to the Embarcadero or wharf areas. Coit Tower is only 2 and 1/2 blocks up the street. There is a corner grocery close by that carried everything we needed for basic breakfast/snack/beverage items. We did not cook at all-why would you when Chinatown and Little Italy are right around the corner?! Mo's is recommended for a tasty burger option. Our hands down favorite was Viva Italian Restaurant on the corner of Columbus and Grant. Just a two block walk for great food choices, great prices and great service. We ate there twice and wish we had time for more! There is so much to do - we would love to return and would certainly stay in this great apartment again. It is very reassuring to know the owner is right there to greet you and can help you if needed. Thanks so much Sherry!!
My husband and I had the best time staying at this rental in North Beach. This was our first trip to San Francisco and this rental provided us with the opportunity to walk to everything we wanted to explore and easy access to public transportation when we were too tired to walk. We live on the East Coast and communicating with Sherry was easy. She answered all my questions about the area quickly and honestly. The apartment was adorable and the perfect size for two. It was very clean and the kitchen was well-stocked. The bathroom was large was equipped with every thing we needed. The bed was perfect...no complaints. Sherry recommended several restaurants, and also made recommendations as to her least favorite places to visit, which we appreciated. Basically, we loved everything about this rental and were so happy to have made such a good choice. If we make it back to SF, I'd only look for another property if this one was not available.
We had a great stay in this cute, arty studio. It is in a fabulous neighbourhood as long as you can handle the steep walk up the hill. It's a block or two from great restaurants, cafes, and pizzerias, but is still very much in a residential area. Sherry was very helpful & provided excellent food recommendations. It's a ground floor apartment, and provides an authentic representation of living in San Francisco. Buses are a couple of blocks away, but easy to use. We walked a lot throughout North Beach and over to Fisherman's Wharf, as well as downtown, and took public transit, and used Lyft to get around beyond that.
My husband and I had the best time staying at this rental in North Beach! My husband and I recently got back from a short stay in San Francisco to celebrate our anniversary and Sherry's rental was just PERFECT. It was a close walk to practically everything we wanted to see and the rental itself was just adorable. The pictures don't even do this place justice. It was bright, beautifully decorated and right in the middle of the action while somehow also managing to feel like you were getting away from the all the noise while tucked away on your own little hill. We had everything we could possibly need and the place was so clean. Sherry was a fantastic host. She had great communication with us and gave us a tour when we arrived and pointed out all the restaurants and places we would want to go in the area. I would love to visit again and can't wait until we can make it back to San Francisco.
This was our first trip to San Francisco and we wanted to stay in an area that would provide us with easy access to public transportation. We definitely found that to be the case here. The apartment itself is charming and artsy, using a wonderful blend of color. The bathroom is very large and well equipped, with plenty of extra towels, hair dryer, big mirrors, a good shower, and plenty of space to put your personal things. The bed is very comfortable, and has a ceiling fan nearby in case the weather is warm. Kitchen is fairly well equipped, with a coffee maker, toaster, microwave, modern refrigerator, etc. There is a spacious sitting area with a couch, comfortable chair, table and chairs for eating, and a very large screen TV (but why waste time with TV when you're in SF?). We found the wi-fi connection to be a bit sketchy at times, but still workable. The apartment is located up a fairly steep hill, but the proximity to public transportation is so good, it's worth it. If you'll be in SF for a few days and plan to go several places, check out a multi-day MUNI pass.... well worth the cost, compared to a single trip cost on any type of transportation. We used public transportation and found it very convenient, especially to get to a major grocery store in the North Point area of the city (there's also a Trader Joe's up the street from this grocery store) so we could stock up on a few groceries (the corner deli by the apartment is ridiculously expensive). The only difficulty we had in using public transportation was on a Saturday when we wanted to get from the apartment to the Embarcadero BART station to pick up the train to get to the airport. It took way too much time, we had to transfer to a second bus, and figuring out where we could actually pick up each bus wasn't easy. Overall, we'd definitely recommend staying at Sherry's..... it's a gem of a find, and she's a terrific hostess!
