I've been in Hanalei since 1974.
And, was able to buy this home in 2000.
I enjoy giving visitors an experience of being 'local'
in this beautiful town
Susan purchased this house in 2000
It was extreme good luck that allowed us to purchase this property as a place to share the experience of life in Hanalei
This house is designed for comfort.
And the feel and best of 'old kauai".
We have tried to think of everything you might need for a
'home like' vacation
We had such a blast in Hanalei. It's hard to believe we were even there with it being so far away and so incredibly different from where we are now. What an experience... my favorite moment was biking on the beach at night. I think we nearly had the bay to ourselves. It was surreal. Thank you for sharing your place with us.
We had an amazing stay at the house. It's location to the beach and to town are ideal. The house was well equipped with everything we needed and Susan was very helpful and accommodating of our needs. Thanks for a great stay!
Excellent accommodations. Not new, but well kept. Close to beaches, shops and restaurants. We would definitely stay there again on our next Kauai trip.
It's much easier to write a review when we can think of one or two possible
improvements...
Hale Ha Ha is a beautiful home in Hanalei, in easy walking distance to the
Hanalei Bay beach and to the shopping/restaurant area of Hanalei. It's
tucked away into a quiet location, just far enough from the not-busy
"highway" through Hanalei. Many interesting plantings provide a natural
fencing between Hale Ha Ha and the neighbors (who were quiet during our stay.)
Our family of seven (four adults, one teen and two tweens) had room to spare
in the house. Our youngest exclaimed, "There are three kitchens!" (We only
used the main kitchen.) Each of the youngsters had a bedroom to his or her own.
Every room is spacious and well-provisioned. Even basic toiletrees, which we
didn't expect - and have not found at most other VRBO places we've stayed at.
The big lanai was a wonderful place for a larger group to gather, eat and relax.
So, overall, we rate Hale Ha Ha as an A+ place to stay in Hanalei!
This was the perfect place for a larger group. We rented the whole house. It came with everything you need for the beach. Great location near town and beach.
Great location super close to the beach and town. Equipped with bikes to make getting around easy, boogie boards, beach toys, etc. Great living room and lanai with soft comfy furniture for lounging around on rainy days or in the evening. We had two families with their kids in the room sleeping with them, and the third family using three rooms, one for mom and dad and the others for each kid. It was just the right size with the ages of our kids.
This was our third stay at Hale HaHa. This was once again a terrific place to stay. We had the whole family plus a couple of good friends there. The house is so warm and comfortable with all the amenities. The huge screened in lanai was our central gathering place that allowed all 12 of us to join in family meals and one night of wonderful kani kapila. There was some rain this trip so the spacious house provided a wonderful escape from the rain. Bed are all very comfortable and the daybeds around the perimeter of the lanai were perfect for afternoon naps. Susan (the owner) was wonderful and very accommodating to our needs. This is a great spot that is very close to the beach in one of the most beautiful places on earth. We look forward to our next stay. Our ohana definitely recommends Hale Ha Ha.
