Circle J Cabin was originally built in 1940 and was renovated in 2004 with the charm and warmth of a rustic lakefront property set on the beautiful banks of Lake Travis. It was redesigned to offer all the comforts of home such as stainless steel appliances, ceiling fans throughout, custom tiled countertops, uniquely designed bathrooms (one walk in shower and one claw foot bathtub) and comfortably appointed bedrooms. The interior of Circle-J is accented with uniquely finished concrete flooring, a vaulted ceiling living room with custom furnishings that help make this a true lakeside retreat.
The large windows and expanded screened-in porch allows visitors to enjoy the natural Central Texas landscape. Step outside to walk down the gently sloping yard to the waters edge to take in fantastic views all around you. (Balcones National Wildlife Refuge to your left and Pace Bend State Park directly across the lake).
Joy purchased this cabin in 2004
If you want to relax, this is a perfect getaway. The cabin is very nice and is right on the lake. We also visited a winery only 2 miles from our cabin and picked up some great bottles of wine.
I want to thank Joy Brazziel for the use of her kayak. That made my stay 100%.Thank you and we will probably make a return trip in the near future.
Cottage was well equipped, clan and well maintained. I would recommend this to anyone that had likes to be near a lake and just hang out and relax. We had a great lunch at the Flat Creek Winery just 10 minutes from the cottage. The winery is a beautiful place just to visit and maybe visit the tasting room. Joy Brazziel was a great host and had a wreath of knowledge about the original homestead. Joyce & Charlie
My wife and I stayed here for our 22 anniversary. The home is very well kept and very cute. The screened porch was extremely comfortable and relaxing. This is a great place go and do nothing. Bamboo surrounds the house and one of the two hammocks. Although there are neighbors, you can't see or hear them. It is very private and peaceful. We highly recommend staying here if you want some undisturbed relaxation.
The house and setting were perfect for my husband's 60th birthday. Our 3 daughters joined us and it was one of the best weekends we have had in a long time. The accommodations were quaint, cozy, clean, well maintained, well stocked, and perfect. The property was private and secluded and we thoroughly enjoyed floating in the lake since the temperatures during the day soared above the 100 mark!! It is close to Austin but feels like a far away escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We would highly recommend this little slice of heaven to anyone looking for a quiet place to rest, relax, and recharge. Thank you hosts!!!
Went for a long Memorial Day weekend trip to Lake Travis to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life with my soon and dog. This cabin hit the nail on the spot. It is correct when it says it is secluded. You could hear the neighbors but could not see them. The house was clean and came with everything that we needed. The beds were soft and we loved the couch and chair in the living room. The screened in porch is amazing - I enjoyed my morning breakfast out there each day. We were able to take our Golden Retriever and he was so excited to have the yard to run and play around and us not worry about traffic or him bothering anyone else. During our stay there had been alot of rain and rain almost every night we were there so the lake was high, but we were still able to go and fish and let the dog swim. The short walk to the lake is pleasant. Since it rained so much, we had a hard time using the awesome firepit. Our wood was too wet but we know it would have been amazing.
Can't say enough great things about this place. My so didn't want to leave. We will definitely be back. Blew our expectations through the roof.
We've been going out of the country or at least to the coast for our late May anniversary every year, but this year we wanted a more laid-back trip and wanted to be able to bring the 'girls' (Bailey, our 2 yr old lab and Ellie our rescued 1 yr old mix of bassett/corgi/other). The Circle J cabin was perfect. Secluded away, peaceful and picturesque. It's much more than a cabin and was very well-appointed and immaculate. Both bathrooms were practically brand new and were beautifully done. (the water has a bit of an odor that would take some getting used to but everything else was perfect). The screened porch was nice and we also took advantage of the hammocks and bbq grill. A little bit of a walk to the lake, but gently sloped and not too bad. So we spent most of the days down there fishing or paddle-boarding up and down the lake with the 'girls'. Really a beautiful place from the house to the lot/setting to that part of the hill country area. Great place to take the dogs for walks, but they would tuckered out thinking they could keep up with the deer. Close to perfect for our needs and would highly recommend to others and we hope to be able to go back soon.
