About Robert and Carol Grosse

We both grew up spending summers by the Atlantic Ocean at the New Jersey shore, then Bob went to sea with the Navy for 20 years cruising all around the Atlantic, Pacific and Mediterranean Sea; finally, we settled in a town on the Central Coast of California only a short distance from the shores of the Pacific so we have been lifelong lovers of the seashore. Our condo in Kihei has turned out to be the perfect spot for ocean lovers with warm, sunny days, spectacular views, sandy beaches and some of the best swimming, surfing, and snorkling in the world only minutes from our doorstep.

We love being here for the rest, tranquility and fun that is Maui and are sure that you will too. Come and join us for a perfect vacation!

Aloha,

Carol & Bob

Why Robert and Carol Grosse chose Maui

We selected the south Kihei area for its great beaches, its easy-going lifestyle, and its convenient location. You will find yourself only a short drive to the slopes of Mount Haleakala, the shopping opportunities of Kihei, Kahului and Wailea, and--when it comes time to go home--only 20 minutes from the Airport. It's just a little further to Lahaina, West Maui and the world-famous Road to Hana.

What makes this condo unique

We are across the street from the beaches of Kamaole Parks I, II and III, There are shops and restaurants just around the corner from our Kihei Kai Nani Resort condo and it is a short drive to the rest of Maui's attractions. Our condo is a corner unit and has extra windows so the trade winds keep us cooler in the warmer summer months. We have an in-unit washer & dryer, dish washer, microwave and up-to-date kitchen applicances plus a gas BBQ grill behind our building. We enjoy sitting on the lanai for a leisurely Hawaian breakfast or lunch. The resort has one of the largest swimming pool in Kihei and even a lending library on site. The Kihei Kai Nani has everything you need for an enjoyable and memorable vacation.

Kihei Kai Nani on Maui

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay here at 257 building 6. The location a bit back from the main road was lush and quiet. It is in a convenient location for beautiful morning walks south to Wailea beaches or north to Kalamalka park and more beautiful sights, often seeing turtles and whales along the way. Kameole beach is right across the street for viewing evening sunsets as well as great swimming. We snorkelled, went whale watching, visited the Maui Ocean centre on our way to Lahina and watched the surfers at Napili. The unit is well cared for and fully equipped with water toys and the kitchen has anything you may need to cook or barbecue. The staff are friendly and Carol has been great. So much to see and explore and nothing is too far. Loved it. Mahalo,Susan and Dave 🌴🌺🌴

Perfect stay with our family

  • 5 of 5

Everything was perfect, we enjoyed the place and have been able to explore the island with our children. The "pack and play" was helpfull for our baby.

Owner's Response: We're so glad things worked out for your family. Vacations are a little different when you have young children but the proximity of the beach and pool to the Kihei Kai Nani help. We have used the "pack and play" and portable high chair for our grandchildren and are always happy to have guests take advantage of it.

Loved the condo

  • 5 of 5

The condo had everything we needed for our xmas stay in Kihei. It was perfectly located, check in was easy as there was none and we arrived at almost midnight so it was nice to be able to just grab the keys and get settled. The building the condo is located in is at the back of the complex so you hear no car noise from the street. The only noise we did hear (besides a drunken party in the building next to us that security promptly shut down at 10 pm on the nose) is the sprinklers going off between 4 am - 6 am. The bedroom windows aren't traditional glass windows, they're screens with shutters(?), I would recommend earplugs for sensitive sleepers. Otherwise the condo was great, it had everything we needed and was perfectly located. I would totally recommend to anyone!

Wonderful Stay!

  • 5 of 5

This was a first trip to Hawaii for both of us and I have to say that it was an unbelievable experience. Carol and Bob were very easy to communicate with. Their beautiful condo had everything we needed. Glad to have the use of their coolers, beach chairs and beach towels. Having a washer/dryer unit was a huge plus. We were able to rent snorkel gear at Boss Frog's right down the street and he was very helpful on where were to go to get some good snorkeling in. If we get the chance to come back we will definitely ask Carol and Bob to let us enjoy their place again. Thank You again Jana & Richard

Lovely updated condo

  • 5 of 5

Just spent 8 days at this wonderful condo. The condo was updated and had all necessary items in the kitchen as well as for the beach. The patio faced away from the road so was quiet and very private. I've stayed at the kihei kai nani 19 times and this is one of my favorite condos so far. Thanks for a wonderful vacation.

Owner's Response: It's great to hear from guests who have stayed at other KKN condos. KKN is one of Maui's most affordable and best kept secrets. Thanks very much for your review.

Great affordable location in Kihei...

  • 4 of 5

Stayed 6 days/5 nights at this location (after 6 nights/7 days in Ko'Olina, Oahu) - nice upstairs location that is quiet, near beach, restaurants/grocery & golf. The property itself was clean & well maintained. The bed was comfortable (it would have been nice to have air conditioning in the bedroom- although there is a ceiling fan & a stand fan). Oh & the bathroom was hot too. Nice to have a washer & dryer available in the unit. Instructions from the owners about check-in etc were thorough. Overall the place was great, nothing fancy but for the price I would definitely recommend it to friends/relatives & would also consider staying there again.

A few little things - it would have been nice to have a couple of boogie boards for use (we actually bought a small one & left it there) but other then that there was nothing that I could think of that wasn't provided. The sprinklers did turn on outside every morning around 3:30a?! & someone somewhere nearby was smoking a cigarette in the evenings because the smell would permeate into the apartment. We did not use the pool at all.

We did quite a lot in the short time we were there (not my first time in Maui - but it was my boyfriends)... We Loved 808 Deli right next door (the sandwiches & the banana pudding), Da Kitchen (large portions), Eskimo candy (poke bowl & seafood chowder), Ululani's shave ice, Local Boys shave ice, Wowwow Lemonade, Zippys, Tasaka GuriGuri & watching the sunsets across the street at the beach (along with tons of other people). We also ate at Star Noodle, Merriman's & the Gazebo (can you tell we like to eat?). Missed Sansei & Miso Phat Sushi though (next time). Visited various different towns all over the island - Lahaina, Wailea, Kapalua, Kahului and of course drove the road to Hana & the Seven Sacred Pools & did the hike to Waimoku Falls. We also drove to the top of Haleakala to see the sunrise, but unfortunately it was too foggy to see a thing, not even the crater that morning! I think the sunsets are just as great though & we probably should have done that instead of getting up at 3a... Lets see, we also visited the Iao Needle & my boyfriend played golf at Maui Nui and Waiehu Golf Courses. We did agree though that our favorite thing was the Nakalele Blowhole & heart rock. A must see! (check for high tide before you go). I would also recommend Maui Specialty Chocolates - the chocolate truffle & chocolate peanut butter mochi - YUM!

Mahalo & Aloha!

Owner's Response: We're glad you enjoyed the location. It's easy to get to good restaurants, Maui's most interesting tourist destinations, and wonderful beaches. Just a note on smoking, the Kihei Kai Nani is a non-smoking resort. There are two locations that smokers can use that are away from the condos. If someone is smoking outside your condo, it should be reported to the on-duty security person.
