Enjoy a family holiday or restful retreat in our Appalachian style log cabin nestled in the pine trees of Willow Cove within walking distance of Bass Lake and the Pines Village. Our chalet style StoneMill home is a custom constructed, hand hewn Hemlock log cabin that offers 3 bedrooms, a sleeping loft, and 2.25 baths. It sleeps 8-12 comfortably. Many features set our cabin apart for your pleasure: Americana style decor, free WIFI, fully functioning kitchen, Rinnai water heating system, games and puzzles, library of children's books and movies, and a clawfoot tub. Ample parking is available on our .71 acre property, along with a sitting grove of Adirondack chairs, hammocks, outdoor twinkle lights, and a spacious deck all under a canopy of pine trees.

Bass Lake is centrally located for lake days and Yosemite excursions. Bass Lake provides boating, water sports, beach days, fishing, and hiking for families and outdoor enthusiasts. The gate to Yosemite National Park is merely 18 miles up HWY 41, where you'll find Yosemite Valley, Badger Pass Ski Area, and Mariposa Grove just beyond. Yosemite Valley is a year-round must for your bucket list, showcasing Half Dome, El Capitan, and thousand foot waterfalls and granite that tower above the picturesque Merced River winding through the Valley's grassy floor. In winter on the same Yosemite road, Badger Pass Ski Area is the perfect family resort for snowboarding, skiing, and cross country trails. Snow play is even closer on HWY 41 above Fish Camp. Mariposa Grove is famous for its giant sequoia forest of the oldest and largest trees in the world. Bass Lake is surrounded by the Sierra National Forest.

Wonderful Stay at Bass Lake - great place for families!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful well-equipped cabin with friendly, helpful owners! We had 10 of us total ( 4 adults, 6 kids age 4-10 years) and had plenty of space. We had such an amazing time during our stay at this gem nestled close to Bass Lake and we'll be back!!

Log Cabin Dream House

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed here several times over the last few years, once on a girls getaway and more often with a large group of friends. This beautiful cabin is close to the lake and the lodge but is nestled into it's own little glen of pine trees at the end of a quiet street. The deck is perfect for outdoor grilling, dining and relaxing and indoors is spacious but has very comfy feel. Lots of carefully thought out touches throughout and plenty of room for families or a big group of friends to stay together. It's our perfect log cabin home away from home.

The perfect log Cabin for that mountain get away!

  • 5 of 5

My family has stayed at this cabin for 8 years running now. We are in love with this log cabin and the surrounding area. It sits at the back of a cul de sac and is surrounded by big beautiful trees. We spend sunny afternoons on the large deck nestled in these trees. Then at night, it has become a tradition to have a bon fire in the front area which has been set up with twinkle lights and chairs. Smores and family games are a must. We always reserve at least one day for skiing at Badger Pass, the perfect family ski area. The cabin sleeps everyone so easily and the gorgeous brick floors are so functional and compliment the log and chink walls. The kitchen has everything you would need with a large dining room table that fits everyone. The red, white and blue Americana charm just completes the package. I never hesitate to recommend this rental to friends who want to spend time in or near Yosemite. Being slightly outside the park and away from the large crowds is a huge plus.

the perfect get-a-way to reconnect with your family... time well spent!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in this cabin for the past few years. Typically we go up in the winter months for a long weekend, and spend a day up at Badger Pass snow boarding. We have also enjoyed it in the spring and hope to get up their during the summer as well. I have gone on a girls get-a-way weekend but mostly we use this location for family and close friends annual family trip. We have rented multiple cabins and used this cabin as the hub, because the deck is just perfect for a larger group and the kids can roam the property and still be within an ear shot of us. We spent countless hours on that deck, chatting with friends, reading, playing cards on the big oversized tables, dining and even a few spontaneous dance parties with our kids.

We love how it forces us to "un-plug" from the hurried, technology ridden life that we tend to lead. As we head up to the cabin, sometimes our kids grumble at the "un-plugged" weekend, however on the drive home, they always talk about the fond memories they had with their friends, hiking and playing outdoors without their devices and are constantly asking when we can go again. It truly is the perfect get-a-way and reconnection time for us. Between the four families who typically travel together, we have kids between 9 and 18 years of age and we love watching them bond and look out for each other while together (something we don't see happen at home when everyone is in the own little world)

The log cabin itself is beautiful from the outside and the inside. It's not my normal decor taste, but it's just as we want to enjoy it - a country cabin in the woods with full kitchen & bath amenities. We have stayed in one other location, and it was a little too dated & funky for me... this is definitely my favorite of the two.

Thank you for offering a get-a-way that allows our family to engage in "un-plugged" time with each other and friends. We value our time at this cabin because it truly helps us get-a-way, get outside, create daily adventures and enjoy what matters most in life - relationship time together.

Nice Location -But too many disappointments! Beware Hidden Fees!

  • 2 of 5

The location of this property was very nice, but there were so many things that I was disappointed about that I will not rent this cabin again, nor can I recommend it as a place to stay. We went to the lake almost every day and we went to Yosemite (about an hour away) which is always spectacular. But we did have some down time and hung out at the cabin too. The problem is that there is no internet, no cell service near the cabin, and no TV in the front living room. There is only a computer-sized LCD TV in the downstairs room and an old CRT TV in the kids’ room.

Some of the floor lamps didn’t work. When we called the local number the housekeeper came out but couldn’t fix them. We asked about toilet paper and she said normally we have to bring our own, but that “she would offer us a roll.” And then she asked us to make sure we washed the towels before we left because the owners were coming that day we were leaving and she had 2 other houses to clean. Really? What am I paying $300 a night for? I even paid the additional $50 for linen service and I have to do laundry? This is the first time I rented a place from VRBO that required you to bring your own bed sheets or pay extra to use theirs.

The patio barbecue is old and dirty. We didn’t even want to use it. The cabin looks wonderful in pics, but it ends up being not very practical. The living room ended up being too small for only the 6 of us (4 adults, 2 kids). The furniture in the front room is all wicker (not comfortable), there is a 2-person couch in the living room and a wooden bench with chair pads and a wicker chair. None of the furniture was comfortable or relaxing. Then, as far as fees and payments go, the owners were more like a property management company. We sent a money order for our deposit and then a personal check for payment before our stay. It was not accepted. I offered to pay by PayPal, which I did, but they charged me for their fees. We checked out on July 25th but I didn’t receive our deposit back until August 19th. That is just ridiculous. I got the feeling that the owners were very wealthy but very cheap. It was reflected in the type of dealings I had with them. My other dealings with VRBO owners have been much more enjoyable and easy.

I will definitely come back to Bass Lake with my family but I will choose another location for my next stay.

Owner's Response: We highly value accommodating our guests, as we hope our 5-star record proves. We take all guests’ comments into consideration. We have replaced light bulbs and one of four TVs since this reservation. Our guest does not mention our friendly decision to accept his lower nightly rate. A “no recipient available” delivery delayed his deposit, which we mailed 11 days after his departure, far in advance of the 21 days he agreed to. Several late developments complicated this reservation, including his late payment and a contradictory, last minute linen request, both of which we accommodated. Our rental agreement simply, unsurprisingly defines customary payments and guest responsibilities, such as toiletries. We look forward to having you as guests!

Our cabin is just a 20 minute drive to the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park and Mariposa Grove. We are centrally located for a day trip to the Yosemite Valley or Badger Pass.
