Bright airy ground floor unit with many amenities in the Holgate area of southern Long Beach Island, near the Bird Sanctuary, ocean and bay beaches. A great place for kids near Beach Haven, a shopping hub of the island with many stores, a grocery store, restaurants, bars, an amusement park and other amenities.

The ocean beach requires beach passes, four (4) of which are loaned for the rental. The area is very peaceful, yet offers many opportunities for shopping, nightlife, miniature golf, and all the other fun things to do at the beach.

Surroundings: This property is located in a family friendly quiet section of Long Beach Island. The ocean is a very short walk away, as is the bay. There is bicycle riding, walking, and running easily accessible. A few blocks south is a federal bird sanctuary with all sorts of seabirds around. Long Beach Island is one island north of Atlantic City, so that is easily seen from many locations in Holgate. Beach haven is located north of Holgate with plenty of shopping, restaurants, bars and other amenities.

Thanks for the Great Stay!

So enjoyed my week’s stay here. I loved the convenience of being so close to the beach and that the beach badges were included in the rent. The house is very comfortable. The owners have made great use of the space. One of the rooms was freshly painted and recently updated decor throughout was a nice touch. The outdoor shower was also freshly painted. The deck was great! A short walk to get to the ocean beach OR to watch the sunset at the bay beach....doesn't get any better than that!

Good value, nicely appointed, and comfortable!

We found the house to be a great value, very comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. The kitchen, bath and large living room are nicely and cleanly decorated and updated; bedrooms provided all we needed. The ownwer was easy to work with and responsive to inquiries. The quiet end-of-island location is great, with short walk to either bay or ocean, but convenient to Beach Haven retail by car. We’ve rented various houses on LBI over the years, and would definitely rent here again.

Dont judge a book by it's cover!

The property is not well maintained, The deck in the back of the home is rotting and has not been replace since Hurricane Sandy. My husband scraped barnacles off it. The house has some mold issues. Nothing has been done since Sandy

( bathroom sealing has a patch of black mold from a leak in the ceiling from upstairs unit.) Lots of dust on the furniture and stains on furniture cushions that have not been washed. I reached out to the owner and he had the cleaner service contact me, (how ever we had cleaned it ourselves). They indicated that they are just a change over service... they only clean the bathroom and kitchen along with a sweeping through out the house which was an issue because they had an old rug that was in the living room that had dirt swept underneath it. The enclosed shower that is located in the back of the home is very dirty and full of pine needle. The house has a lot of potential but needs some TLC. The location is great, The neighbors are very welcoming and care about there neighborhood as it is there home/investment property. Right now I would not recommend this house to a friend. we did enjoy the area. it has quit beaches and lots of attractions and restaurants. Suggestion... if they can't change the deck they can at least have it removed and put some gravel/rocks with the patio set, bbq, and some stepping stones. Just because it was affordable doesn't mean it has be unmaintained.

Owner's Response: We remember hearing from this guest within minutes of their arrival, which began with what appeared to be an immediate house inspection when they arrived. We contacted our cleaning lady, who refuted their report. We actually have done quite a lot with the house since Hurricane Sandy, including removal of tons of sand, hundreds of pounds of trash, replacement of the front deck that had floated to the driveway, replacement of the electrical meter panel and cable to the junction box, cutting down several pine trees that were done in by the hurricane, replacement of the downstairs dishwasher, massive internal cleanup, replacement of the gravel and mulch. The aged rear deck is scheduled for replacement next year although it is still functional. That having been said, we have owned the 60 year old house for 19 years and rented it fully every season with many satisfied returning tenants. Our rent is on the low end since we recognize it is not the "Taj Mahal" but a "beach house". We stayed there the 2 weeks before the anonymous tenant with an 11 month old crawling child, so the floor was cleaned regularly. We did not notice any mold on the "sealing" of the recently renovated downstairs bathroom while we were there, but the ceiling had been damaged by leaks from the upstairs shower shortly after it was installed about 7 years ago. When the leak was repaired, the ceiling was replastered and painted. The cleaning service is not a "changeover" cleaner but does a good and thorough job Saturdays, as verified by having had no other complaints of this type. However, they obviously do not wash the cushions every week. The outdoor shower enclosure is open at the bottom and there are still several pine trees in the back, so pine needles routinely blow in through that opening. As to maintenance, for this season we purchased 2 brand new gas grills, a new air conditioner in the bedroom, and a new deck table and stove upstairs. Since we charge a low rent we do not have a huge budget for "maintenance" but have, over the years, added the TV room under the deck, totally redone the kitchen, replaced all the flooring with laminate, replaced all the windows, replaced the roof, and countless other things to improve the quality of the house, and will continue to do so going forward.
