Our cabin on Carney Lake is the perfect retreat for couples, families, a girls' or boys' weekend, scrapbooking getaway, or even group or corporate events. It is a fully functioning home, but tucked into the trees of the Olympic Peninsula with a beautiful view of the lake from the Adirondak chairs on the deck. It is quiet, cozy and welcoming. In the summer, the swim float is ideal for the kids' King of the Float contests or just to bask in the warm sun. There is also canoe to explore the lake in its entirety. There is a fire pit for s'mores and hot dogs and plenty of grass and beach to visit with friends, watch the kids in the water or simply enjoy the quiet.
In the colder months, snuggle up on the big couch by the gas stove while reading, watching movies, tackling a puzzle or playing games.
There are two bedrooms, but also two lofts. Each loft has a futon as well as additional mattresses. There are plenty of soft places to land.
If relaxation isn't the only thing on your mind, we are about 20 minutes from the Bremerton ferries, taking you into Seattle for the day, or head south on Highway 16 to do some shopping and eating in Gig Harbor. Heading west just a few miles will take you to Hoods Canal, and more water and hiking adventures beyond that all across the southern Puget Sound and Olympic Peninsula. And five miles down the road is Trophy Lake Golf and Casting Club for the golf and fly enthusiasts.
Whether you are here on business, pleasure, to see friends and family, or to get away, our retreat on Carney Lake will be all you are looking for.

My father actually bought this house in 1999 as his own home. He passed away in 2008 from ALS and left this beautiful retreat to our family. We live only 45 minutes away, so it is an ideal getaway for our busy lives (three children under 14), but we are also so busy we don't use it nearly enough. We have been so happy and blessed to share it with so many who fall in love with the lake house as soon as they walk in the door. It really is the perfect swimming and canoeing lake in the summer; fire, movies, puzzles and games in the winter. Wine in the Adirondak chairs on the deck is perfect any time of year.
Carina & Dean purchased this cabin in 1999
This cabin was everything we needed it to be and we wished we could have stayed there for the whole 8 days we spent in Washington state! It is a fact that the pictures don't do it justice-it's huge and cozy all at the same time! We made good use of the pancake griddle and the canoe-the gas stove in the livingroom and the videos. We did a lot of hiking up to Sol Duc and Salmon Cascades and even out to Forks and Rialto beach and La Push and it was great to have such a place to come home to!!
We had an amazing time at Pierce cabin. This cabin is a really great place to go to relax. It has everything you need and is pretty secluded. The cabin was clean and Carina was always available. I would highly recommend this property. The Wi-Fi wasn't great but who needs it when on vacation. We played games, made smores, and had lots of fun in the lake.
Great house on a very quiet lake setting. Our family of 5 adults and 2 children found it spacious and comfortable. We would easily rent again. The owners were more than a accommodating to our needs. I would highly recommend this as a wonderful vacation spot.
Great cabin, peaceful and relaxing. Clean and had a great 2 day vaca from LA and she was flexible on leaving! Carina was great, highly recommended.
My girlfriends and I went to Pierce Cabin for a girls weekend getaway and really enjoyed our weekend. The lake and outdoor space is beautiful and peaceful, and having the canoe and paddle board at the cabin was such a nice touch - most places I've been to don't have that. There were plenty of places for us to sleep, it was nice that the lofts had lots of smaller beds to accommodate our group of 10 people. The house and kitchen were fully stocked with everything you could need, including a great working grill. It was too cold to do much swimming, but had it been warmer we would have all swam out to the raft to enjoy. Really enjoyed Pierce Cabin and hope to come back someday!
The entire family (10 of us) loved this lake retreat! It is a little bit of heaven tucked away on a private lake where wild geese and bald eagles were sighted during our stay. The cabin is well stocked with basics and that made the stay more relaxing. We enjoyed our evenings on the porch/deck as well as having coffee at first light. Fabulous collection of books that I wish I had time to have stayed to read. Connection to ferry to go into the city was quick and easy. Should the opportunity arise to return to the area, I would look into renting this cabin again!
Booked this for a long weekend with my Sailor son. Needed a place where he could decompress away from base, and we could reconnect. Great having kitchen (he desperately wanted to cook) that had everything we needed. More than enough room for the two of us, and my brother and his wife joined us for one night so the lofts came in handy (they are already considering booking the cabin for a summer getaway!). We had a fire in the fire pit, and used the gas grill. We were fascinated by the vast collection of books at the house, and even were tempted to borrow a few and mail back. Lake view was gorgeous -- in the summer it must be so nice to get out there and enjoy it! I was initially worried as the location was not what the website promised (it has since been corrected). I thought the cabin was more centrally located, but it didn't really matter. We were able to get into Bremerton for meals or the ferry within 20 minutes, and it's a lovely drive. Two small suggestions: sharpen the kitchen knives (lol), and provide a spreadsheet for all the remotes! Only real complaint? The WiFi was really bad. It worked well the first day, then was effective only about 10%of the time after that. And, since cell phones don't really work (texting does) out there in the woods, it was a bit of a hassle, as we both had work we needed to do.
As my son put his uniform back on early Monday morning to return to his ship, he looked around and said he really didn't want to leave because it was so cozy. Thanks for allowing us to have some great mother-son bonding time! Not only would I stay here again, but I have already shared the listing with several other Navy families!
Carney Lake is a small, mud bottom lake for swimming, fishing, canoeing, sailing, paddle boats, etc. Gas motors are not allowed on the lake. The cabin is within minutes of Puget Sound, however, where all of the water activities above can be found/enjoyed. You will also be five miles from Trophy Lake Golf and Casting Club.
