Luxuriously remodeled with designer touches, our townhome is perfect for families and gatherings. We have set it up for the sole purpose of having fun and relaxation.
Enjoy views of Lake Tahoe during your days, walk to some great restaurants at night, and when you wake up to go skiing the snow will be removed for you. Right in the heart of Tahoe City, this 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom Lakefront Townhouse is located in the Tavern Shores Development on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe! You can walk out the back sliding glass doors of this home, cross the lawn, then onto the private beach and slip into Lake Tahoe, or view it from the pier. The large lawn is a great place for your kids to play games and sports year-round, while you enjoy a drink on the back porch and watch the alpenglow on the mountains across the lake.
It is within easy walking distance of all shops and restaurants in Tahoe City. Save Mart Supermarket (formerly Lucky’s and Albertson’s) is a 5 minute walk away. Truckee River Raft trips begin across the street. There are some great bike trails that go along the Truckee River, and West Shore. Tahoe Rim Trail access is across the street for mountain biking or hiking. One of our favorite hikes is a small trail that goes along the south side of the Truckee River (good for fishing too). All summer water toys (kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, etc.) can be rented at the public beach in Tahoe City (less than 10 minutes walk) and paddled back to our pier. Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley Ski Resorts are a short 15 minute drive from the townhouse. Homewood Ski Area is less than 10 minutes away.
You can play tennis on one of the courts and swim in the heated swimming pool during the summer. The tennis courts and the pool have been completely remodeled. Your kids can ride their scooters and bikes on paved trails throughout the development or play games on the huge lawn. Your whole family will love hanging out at the private beach and pier, swimming, playing volleyball on the sand court next to the water or catching crawdads from the end of the pier. In the winter, step out of the back of the house and enjoy snow play or cross country skiing.
This is a fully furnished 2 story town home (there are 4 town homes in our pod) that has great mountain/lake views from the living room, master bedroom, and guest bedroom. It has 4 bedrooms, and two and a half baths, fully equipped kitchen, dining room (big dining table with room for everyone), sunken living room with gas fireplace, wooden upper level deck, and back patio. The kitchen and bathrooms are new and modern. The kitchen has Caesarstone counters and stainless steel appliances. The kitchen, living room and dining room are opened to one another, allowing a large space for gathering. A half bath is also downstairs. All 4 bedrooms and laundry room are upstairs. Two bedrooms face Lake Tahoe - the master bedroom has a king sized bed, and the guest bedroom has a queen bed. Of the other two bedrooms, one bedroom has another queen bed while the 4th bedroom has 4 built in bunk beds. The house sleeps 10 people in all. It is approximately 1700 sq. ft. Your rental will be inclusive of all bed linens and towels. There is a gas barbecue on the back patio, as well as a table and chairs for your outdoor dining pleasure amid the backdrop of the alpenglow at sunset. There is a flat screen TV with DVD player in the living room as well as another flat screen TV in the master bedroom. The unit’s clothes washing and drying machines are available for your use. There is plenty of parking steps from the townhouse. Guests are not allowed to bring pets (homeowner’s association rule). During boating season, you can tie your motorboat to the buoy, and can come and go from the pier with help from the pier attendant. The HOA will charge renters a mooring fee and we can help you reserve a buoy beforehand. There is not a local phone line but cable internet WIFI is available throughout the house. Cell phones with all major carriers work well.
Dining: There are numerous restaurants and coffee houses within easy walking distance of the house, including: River Grill & Bridgetender (both about a 3 minute walk), Jakes on the Lake, Tahoe House Bakery, Blue Agave Mexican Restaurant, Wolfdale’s, Christy Hill, Fiamma Cucina Rustica, Lakehouse Pizza, Front Street Station, and more.

We have young kids and enjoy the activities available around Lake Tahoe all year round. This is a place to build memories! You can't beat the lake front location and the views plus 10 minutes to Alpine Meadows/Squaw for world class skiing.
What makes this Townhome unique
Once we arrive, we do not need to get into a car again until we leave the area. We can pick up the Tahoe Rim Trail and the starting point for river rafting down Truckee River by walking 5 minutes from our place. We can rent all water toys (kayak, paddle boards, canoes, etc.) from the public Common Beach (less than 10 minutes walk) and paddle back to our pier. A major supermarket and Tahoe City stores/restaurants are within walking distance. During the winter, ski shuttles to Squaw and Alpine Meadow pick up near our place.

Wonderful family home to enjoy the ski slopes and explore Lake Tahoe!
We stayed for 8 nights over Christmas and New Year. Only 10 minutes drive from Squaw Valley. The facilities of Tahoe City are all within an easy walk, plus there are loads of other things to keep the kids entertained such as sledding and tree adventures. I highly recommend this as a base for any family or group of friends to visit the Tahoe area!! Couldn't have been better!
Modern, clean, lakeside
We had a great 4 days in this condo. A little bit of road noise, but otherwise a comfortable, clean, modern space to vacation.
Wonderful family vacation home
The home was perfectly set up for a family. The bathrooms were newly remodeled and spacious. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook great meals. Also the location of the property is spectacular. Great views of the lake, an easy walk to rent kayaks and paddle boards, and into town. We also were just a few minutes from some beautiful hikes. All in all a great vacation home!
Perfect Family Vacation Home!
We loved our stay at this home! Tavern Shores is the best location on the lake, and this home is very nicely updated and in one of the best locations in the development! Wake up and stare out at the lake with your cup of coffee, walk down to the pier or into town for shopping, dining or other fun. Love having the huge community lawn behind - and there is a nice little beach and volleyball court just across the lawn at the foot of the pier. It's quieter than being over in the Tahoe Tavern side, which is also really nice! Also very close to the pool! We walked to river rafting, into town a couple of nights for dinner, and just loved everything about our stay! We will be back for sure!!!! Thank you!
Perfect Family Vacation Spot
This property is really something!!We've spend a fair amount of time at Tahoe in the last 20 years, year-round, including hotel and condo-lodging at S. and N. Shore, Squaw Valley, Sunnyside, etc., and our stay here was one of the best of any so far.The location is excellent, groceries are within walking distance and the store has an amazing selection of fresh and gourmet foods, for example La Brea breads.We walked to our favorite local coffee store every morning as well, where they serve Illy coffee w/a smile.With quick access to the bike/walking trail along the river, again, the location could not be better.The unit was very quiet and has plenty of parking.The kitchen is especially well-equipped, there was not one item we needed and could not find, lots of extra dishes, silverware, etc.The decor is tasteful yet comfortable, the bathrooms are especially nice and well done.Linens are more than ample, we did run out of shower, cleaning and paper supplies and trash bags, which you are expected to replenish.One of the queen beds is more of a futon and slightly less comfortable but just fine for those who can sleep anywhere.The grassy area right in front of the unit was perfect for the 2 pre-schoolers in our family, as well as the "sand-pit" for playing, as the beach right there is rocky but no problem w/shoes on.We brought a boat, dock service to and from the mooring was prompt and convenient.Views of the lake are excellent, especially at sunset!We'd return to this property in a heartbeat, any time of year!
Just home from a stay at this incredibly fun home! Never got in our car once we parked it upon arrival. Home was incredibly well maintained, well-stocked, and had everything we needed for a fabulous stay. Just steps to the beach/lake, yet private and secluded from any noise. Their home feels like a home away from home. Hats off to owners who take great pride in maintaining their home so meticulously, and sharing their home with others. Thank you for a fantastic stay, we SO look forward to coming back soon!
