This home is located in Historic Plymouth and just a couple miles away from downtown Plymouth where you can explore history, whale watch, take in a museums, or eat at the finest restaurants. This home has about 160 feet of private sandy beach with clear water. There is plenty to do, swim, fish, canoeing, kayaking or just float in the water. Sun yourself or read a book on the beach or even on the large deck. There are 52 stairs down to the beach. It is very private, on 3 acres of land and nature abounds. I grew up in the South Shore in a beach Town called Scituate. I am in Real Estate and have been for about 10 years. I bought this home for the idyllic view of the Lake. In the winter i live in this home and travel when I am not here or go to another home I own.
Jackie Murtha purchased this house in 2007
Very private and nature abounds! Definitely a great place to just hang out and relax!
The first time I drove down the driveway, I was sold from the most idyllic view of the lake. It is also very private too.
The house is warm and makes you feel like you are staying in a home versus a hotel. Walking up to the front door the lake views really hit you. Instantly brings a smile to your face and makes you want to jump in. Was plenty accommodating and Jackie was very understanding and kind to work with.
My family was very comfortable in this home. The property was beautiful. The dogs loved the yard.
We rented this property for a family reunion with members coming in from NY, SC and San Diego. We felt this looked like a great central location to visit Boston, Cape Code and of course Plymouth 5 minutes away. etc. Upon arrival driving down the final portion of the private driveway we saw the house and the “Pond” a nice size lake as we call them in NY and we were impressed. This is a beautiful house on a fantastic lot with a huge raised deck that overlooks a large lot and lake. The interior of the house was very large and comfortable and with the 2.5 large bathrooms 8 adults and one child had more than enough room. The beds and linins were all excellent and very comfy. I’d like to add that this house is more than fully stocked with every amenity you will need to satisfy 8-9 adults. My husband and I stayed in the master bedroom with a private bathroom that had a beautiful custom walk in tiled shower. The windows in this room overlook the beautiful lake which was nice to see waking up every morning. We spent as much time as we could enjoying the lake. There is a little deck where you can sit in provided chairs right at the lakes edge, or swim and boat in crystal clear water. This property is private and very quiet, we enjoyed the sunsets over the lake in the evening. Jackie, the owner, was always available to speak to if necessary or respond to emails. We had such a great time getting family members together everyone agreed this should be a yearly place to come back to and stay.
My sister and I each brought our dogs on this vacation. The yard was safely fenced and they had a great time playing in the yard and swimming in the lake. Needless to say, my sister and also had a great stay. The house and beds were comfortable, the deck was great for relaxing and reading and the lake was clean and not freezing! Yes, the stairs can be a bit challenging but I viewed as a good cardio workout. The house is located easy driving distance into town to wander and to go to restaurants and the beach. I would definitely recommend to family and friends and would stay here again!.
We were looking for a great vacation home that was on the water, was spacious, and would allow pets, and we found all that and more at this terrific home! Every room showed just as wonderful in person as it appeared online. The house was immaculate, so clean, and beautifully decorated! Tremendous deck overlooking the pond, fenced yard, private setting, but minutes to shopping, dining, all the activity of Court St and the Waterfront. Owner Jackie was wonderful to deal with and so welcoming. Private beach area with canoes and a kayak provided for our enjoyment were a plus. We would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!
My family arrived at this home around Midnight and where totally impressed by this beautiful property. Everything about this home makes you feel like you are at home and not in a rental, perfectly clean, tasteful decorated, comfortable furniture, cozy beds, full equipped and stocked kitchen! The next morning we woke to an amazing view of the lake! The lake was such a bonus to this beautiful home, the beach was so peaceful and private, the water was clear and warm, and floating on the provided noodles, lounge chairs, or in the canoe was so relaxing. This home is also located in the perfect area to explore the area - we visited Boston, Plymouth, Nantucket and even went whale watching - saw six Humpback whales!! The homeowner, Jackie, is great to work with, always there to answer questions and has thought of everything!! This vacation home provided my family the opportunity to make memories! Thanks Jackie!!
This home is on the Great South Pond. It is a few miles from the Historic Downtown Plymouth where the mayflower and Plymouth Rock is. There are many restaurants, museums, whale watching and shopping. The Rental is right near the Miles Standish State forest where you can walk, bike canoe or fish.
