We have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is fully equipped for gourmet cooking and we provide complimentary breakfast fixings and all the cooking basics. Just bring your ingredients and you're ready to cook.

Each of the three bedrooms has its own design and color theme and the luxury of down comforters and pillows on the beds. In addition there is a pack 'n play for families with infants.

I provide an Insider's Guide to area activities and restaurants to help in your trip planning. The Cottage is a 5-minute walk to Hog Island Oyster Co and a 10-minute walk to the Marshall Store & Deli with adjacent kayak rentals and tours.

About Lori Kyle

Two things to know about us: the first is we love the outdoors. We ride horses on the trails with kindly mounts from a local stable and ride bikes throughout the Tomales Bay area. We walk and hike the trails and love the surprises that come with each season: a swath of lupine on a spring-green hillside; ospreys feeding their chicks in their pole-top nest, low-tide walks that reveal anemones, star fish, fan kelp and tiny crabs usually hidden by high water.

The second thing to know is that we love to eat. Fresh seafood and locally grown organic foods are available year 'round. Just-harvested oysters are a 5-minute walk from our front gate and the area's restaurants merit several stars with varied cuisines and the freshest seasonal ingredients...Heaven!

Why Lori Kyle chose The Bay Area

We'd been visiting the Point Reyes area for decades-- family day trips to the beaches and hiking trails and getaway weekends just for ourselves. We always dreamed of our own home in the area, but it was rare to hear of properties for sale... so it remained just a dream.

When the opportunity for this magical bayside cottage came up, we jumped at the chance and have been been delighted with our decision ever since. It's been 11 years and the WOW! hasn't worn off. We're delighted to share it with you!

Guestbook comments from the owner

I just spent a blissful three days at your property. It was lovely down to the slightest detail, from the touches of turquoise everywhere, to the light streaming in all the windows, to the impressive array of flowers and plants, to the perfectly stocked kitchen, to the window seats, and the deck (from which we swam). A sea lion even swam very close one day, blowing air through his nose. Thank you for offering such a beautifully organized holiday residence

Beautiful little cottage right on Tomales Bay

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Lolo's Cottage, and would have stayed a week more if we could have. A friend had recommended Lolo's, so we knew to expect something special, but were still "wowed" by the beauty and charm of the cottage inside and out. From the moment we walked through the garden, with so many gorgeous flowers in bloom, we were transported to a place of peace and calm. We ate breakfast on the deck right on the water, and later had appetizers in the same spot as the day ended. We cooked in the very functional and attractive kitchen. And we enjoyed exploring the whole Pt. Reyes area: hiking, kayaking, walking at the beach, and eating delicious local foods. Can't wait to come back to Lolo's Cottage!

Perfect Weekend Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was my second time at Lolo's Cottage, it's such a treat to stay! The house is quaint -- well kept and just enough space for cooking, lounging, etc. but the best part is the outdoor set up. A beautiful garden in front and a wrap around deck/dock! Lori was very helpful and responsive prior to arrival making sure we were all set. Will definitely be back again!

Heaven on Earth

We are return renters and have stayed at Lolo's on numerous occasions. The house and its location are truly a dream. In fact I've never slept better than when I'm there, with the sound of the waves lapping on the piers of the house. The incredible thing about Lolo's is that you are smack dab in the middle of nature. We've seen the most incredible wildlife right off the dock. The birds first of all are amazing--whether its the pelicans, egrets or cormorants, you feel as if you are watching the nature channel, right in front of you. Especially when there is a feeding frenzy when the herring are running--its incredible to witness. And the water is full of amazing seal life--I've seen seals and otters right off, and even swimming under the deck, flocks ofmanta rays, giant starfish, crabs, and beautiful translucent jellyfish. Every day I've been there its like another natural phenomena happening completely different than the day before. And the house has the sweetest little beach which is fun to look for shells and get your feet wet--or even jump in the water when it gets hot. Huge fan of oysters, clams and crabs here, and this is my paradise. We love to have oyster rockerfeller at the Marshall Store, which is a 5 minute walk away. Or we just walk over to Hog Island Oyster Co., about 10 minutes by foot in the other direction, and pick up oysters that we shuck ourselves back at the house with the cottage shucking kit and eat them on the dock with a bottle of white wine. Bliss. The cheese in the area in also incredible--we always stock the fridge with a few Cowgirl Creamery cheeses that we get in Pt. Reyes Station, or also at the Marshall Store. We also love to head to the lesser known town of Tomales, up Highway 1 about 15-20 minutes. Totally picturesque town-you might recognise the church where Alfred Hitchcock filmed one of the scenes in 'The Birds'. The Tomales Bay Bakery has the most exquisite baked goods, but check their schedule, the are only open 4 days week. Their little pizzas are to die for, as are their cheese breadsticks. And across the street is a really cool general store, and upstairs is a sweet, very reasonably priced antique shop. You can also pop down to Dillon's Beach right there in a jiffy, the only drawback is you need a parking permit. So much to love about this area. We also often head over to Osmosis Spa in Freestone, for a Cedar bath and massage, and meditation in their Zen guardian. I'm already dreaming of the next visit!

Beautiful, peaceful and perfect

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in Lolo's cottage at least four times now. It never disappoints. Each time I walk in the door, whether with my family, just my husband or my closest friends, I instantly am at peace. The location and view is exceptional. The cottage is decorated beautifully and has everything you need to be comfortable and happy. I love Lolo's cottage and plan to go back many more times.
