In the interim, may I suggest Sea Mist...it's a lovely bayside cottage just a few doors from our own. VRBO Listing #691486

Two things to know about us: the first is we love the outdoors. We ride horses on the trails with kindly mounts from a local stable and ride bikes throughout the Tomales Bay area. We walk and hike the trails and love the surprises that come with each season: a swath of lupine on a spring-green hillside; ospreys feeding their chicks in their pole-top nest, low-tide walks that reveal anemones, star fish, fan kelp and tiny crabs usually hidden by high water.
The second thing to know is that we love to eat. Fresh seafood and locally grown organic foods are available year 'round. Just-harvested oysters are a 5-minute walk from our front gate and the area's restaurants merit several stars with varied cuisines and the freshest seasonal ingredients...Heaven!
Lori Kyle purchased this house in 2004
We'd been visiting the Point Reyes area for decades-- family day trips to the beaches and hiking trails and getaway weekends just for ourselves. We always dreamed of our own home in the area, but it was rare to hear of properties for sale... so it remained just a dream.
When the opportunity for this magical bayside cottage came up, we jumped at the chance and have been been delighted with our decision ever since. It's been 11 years and the WOW! hasn't worn off. We're delighted to share it with you!
I just spent a blissful three days at your property. It was lovely down to the slightest detail, from the touches of turquoise everywhere, to the light streaming in all the windows, to the impressive array of flowers and plants, to the perfectly stocked kitchen, to the window seats, and the deck (from which we swam). A sea lion even swam very close one day, blowing air through his nose. Thank you for offering such a beautifully organized holiday residence
We had a fantastic Christmas holiday at Lolo's Cottage. Lori was a gracious and thoughtful host, her home is clean and beautifully decorated, the kitchen is very well stocked for those who love to cook, and the setting is beautiful and relaxing. We enjoyed getting Oysters up the road, driving to gorgeous daytime hikes in Pt. Reyes, and the delicious offerings at Pt. Reyes station. This is a great location for a getaway. We would go back!
I stayed at Lolo's with friends and returned to rent it myself. Such a great location. The house has a great set up, was very clean and everything was very easy. I will be back!
I thoroughly enjoyed my second stay at Lolo's Cottage! The first time I stayed there was a few years ago, for a reunion with old girlfriends from high school. This time I stayed with my family (ages ranging from 0 to 70). Both times, this tasteful and cozy cottage was a perfect spot for cooking, reading books, sleeping, yoga, and gazing at the sun setting over the bay. Everyone was happy. I can't wait to go back!
The owner's of Lolo's Cottage responded quickly to our inquiries and funded our damage deposit promptly. We had no problems locating Lolo's Cottage in Marshall, CA. The cottage was clean and nicely decorated. The outside desks are wonderful, and we hope to be able to use them more if we would come in the summer. We had plenty of towels, pillows and blankets for 5 of us. The kitchen had a lot of condiments and staples for us to use which was very much appreciated. We did cook several meals, so the little extras that we did not have to bring or buy were great. The weather was cool, so we did have to light the gas flame stove. The stove was quite sufficient to keep the cottage warm in the early mornings and late evenings. However, it took us a couple of tries to figure out the lighting of the stove required us to be very patient. It would be helpful to include a statement that indicates it may take up to a minute for the stove to cycle through its startup sequence which includes the beeps, motor activation, valve stepping and a silent pause before the flames shoot up. The hot water was a little touchy, but we all got our showers if we boiled some water to do the dishes. There was the Point Reyes Studio Art Tour that weekend, which was a bonus for us since the weather prevented us from hiking and kayaking everyday which we had planned. We would come back to the area for more hiking.
Such an adorable beachy cottage that couldn't be more comfortable. Close to great shopping and restaurants. Love Lolo's Cottage - we're returning guests and can't wait to come back.
We enjoyed our stay at Lolo's cottage very much. Lori has thought of everything and the location is near perfect. We've used Homeaway many times for stays around the country but this is one of the best!
West Marin is known for its exceptional restaurants, many featuring Tomales Bay seafood, local artisan cheeses and organic ingredients. Did I mention the bakeries? There are three...all are scrumptious! Art galleries, boutique shopping and a fabulous spa are memorable destinations during your visit—all within a short drive.
Kayak adventures launch just 1/4 mile from the cottage…explore the inlets and secluded western shores of the Pt. Reyes peninsula. Harbor seals often swim alongside your kayak in the winter and spring seasons!
1/4 mile in the other direction and you'll find Hog Island Oyster Company, offering BBQ facilities and freshly harvested Tomales Bay oysters. Beaches, hiking, biking and equestrian trails abound at Point Reyes National Seashore and nearby State Parks.
