Really enjoyed our stay at this cozy cottage! The furniture was so comfortable which was especially important for a drizzly/rainy weekend. The cottage is secluded /quiet with quick access to Blowing Rock and Boone. Even with the weather we had a wonderful time in the mountains - the rain slowed down long enough to enjoy BR and Art in the Park on Sat. Sunday the weather was beautiful and perfect temperature for walking around Julian Price Lake. Dorie (owner) is great- very accommodating, easy to contact with fast responses. Look forward to staying at Twisted Laurel again soon!

Cottage up the hill

  • 5 of 5

We just spent almost a month at this wonderful cottage up the hill. It is perfect for getting away from everything but close enough to Boone and Blowing Rock for anything you need. Our granddaughters got up close with two baby deer and their mother in the front yard. And a rabbit came to visit every night. And Pickles the friendly dog came to visit a few times. The house is nicely furnished with everything you need to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Watching the sun set each evening was an added bonus. We loved the weather-perfect for tennis every day. Dorie, the owner, was most helpful with info we needed. Over all, a wonderful stay in the little cottage up the hill!!

Fantastic find

  • 5 of 5

Great place. First Dorie was very responsive before and during our stay. Any questions were promptly answered. The house is in a perfect location only a quick drive to downtown Boone, Blowing Rock, or to any shopping needs. Best of all it is very quiet with a great western view so you get a great sunset. Nobody within shouting distance to the privacy is great. Daytime you'll hear the Tweetsie whistle on occasion but that makes it a bit nostalgic. The house is very well equipped with towels, kitchen, and cleaning supplies. Appliances all in good order and the bathrooms and furnishings all clean and in good shape. Good wifi and electronics which as much as we all try to unplug that's not always possible. The hot tub heated up quickly and a good size and clean. Overall a top place to stay and good for a family or couple (s). We've had some duds on VRBO, Home Away, and Air BNB through the years but this is absolutely as advertised and I highly recommend it. We already looked to book later in the summer but it was rented the weekend we need. We will be back another time though.
