Hope to hear from you soon.
We live in New Jersey, but moved from California in 2006. We missed the mountains so much we purchased a place in Vermont. It's been a great place for us to relax and catch our breath. We hope you can do the same.
Andrew purchased this farmhouse in 2008
If you are looking to have a lot of fun, but also want the opportunity to relax, this is the place. Best with a large group who like to cook and entertain.
Large flat yard, great for kids. Ring the bell, call the kids back for dinner.
We had an awesome stay this past weekend! The house was beautiful and had plenty of space! the yard was huge and awesome! The kitchen was beautiful! Next time we are in the Wilmington area we will be looking to return. The house is about 10 minutes away from the beautiful Harriman Reservoir also.
My husband and I flew in from Florida and wanted a place to spend time with our two families: family of 5 from New York City and family of 4 from CT. Grandchildren: ages 16, 14, 12, 7 and 4. We had all the activities we could imagine: the Lake Raponda near by , Harriman Reservoir, Alpine Slide at Bromley, climbing Haystack MT. and Molly Stark State Park. We sometimes split up in activities depending on ages of kids; did kayaking, paddle board, hiking, biking; we also enjoyed local activities and parades as well as restaurants in Wilmington, Vt. We had delicious dinners at home and ate outside and roasted marshmallows over the fire. Everyone slept well and the accommodations were perfect for all. The kids and adults enjoyed the foosball and ping pong. The games were very popular: especially battleship. We did not have enough time to even turn on the tv. Our son's labradoodle ran and ran in the large yard and was so happy. We met some wonderful neighbors and found everyone so nice and friendly. Andy Stypa (owner) was so pleasant to deal with and responded to our every inquiry. We hope to plan another reunion next August.
Our extended family came to town for a birthday celebration. The former Misty Mountain Lodge was a perfect setting for the group to stay. The bedrooms are well appointed and there are great spots for large group hang outs including the awesome gourmet kitchen, yard and living room. The location has a great view and is close to Mt. Snow, the village of Wilmington, lakes and some great hikes. Overall, terrific spot and responsive owner and caretaker. Would definitely use it again.
My neice was to me married locally and my brothers and I were asked to feed the 60 guests expected on Saturday afternoon. We arrived on Friday with food and the preparation began in wonderful kitchen there. My brothers arrived later on Friday (one from near, one from far) and the food prep frenzey continued. I still hurt from laughing so much.
The owners were present that weekend and helped out a great deal. Nice people.
After the wedding, we headed back to Misty Mountain and just kicked back, relaxed and had a ball. The rooms were great; everyone had a good night's sleep, and we had a ball in this gorgeous kitchen. Plenty of space for everyone to gather and separate space to get some quiet time.
We'll be back!!
This house exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed a wonderful summer family vacation in August. The kitchen is newly renovated and very inviting. The great room fit 3 families comfortably and allowed for tons of family fun together. The ping pong room was a huge hit with the kids. All of the bedrooms and baths were clean, neat and nicely decorated. The outdoor space provided entertainment for all, as the kids were free to run around the huge yard and the adults enjoyed sitting around the fire pit. Two large picnic tables made family dinner outside comfortable for all. The house is about a 10 minute drive to nearby Harriman Reservoir, a beautiful and huge lake where we swam and lounged on the beach. We drove to the outlets in Manchester, went to the Bromley Action Park, and found some treasures at Wilmington's weekend flea market. If you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful getaway in the summer in Vermont, don't hesitate to rent this house. The owner is easy to work with and responds to questions and/or concerns quickly.
We rented this house with 11 women for our annual girls weekend. There was plenty of room for all of us and the kitchen was amazing. The owner was great and attended to our needs. The location was perfect and close to some great hiking and swimming spots.
