Beautiful Location and Property

  • 5 of 5

We just came back from a wonderful week at Lake Leelanau and thoroughly enjoyed our accommodations at Pine Patch. There are 2 separate little cabins which gives everyone lots of privacy. The grounds are beautiful, with hammocks and great sunsets. The dock is good for swimming and sunning. Easy drive to the little towns and sites. Nice biking on the surrounding roads. Well equipped kitchen.

Beautiful Cottage on Lake Leelanau

  • 5 of 5

My family and I just returned from a wonderful week at Pine Patch! The cottage was perfect~ cozy and elegant at the same time with gorgeous views and amazing outdoor amenities! We enjoyed lounging on the hammocks and swings, sitting by the camp fire, sunning, fishing and boating from the fabulous dock and playing bocci ball and other lawn games in the large yard.

Lake Leelanau is beautiful and the surrounding towns are quaint and fun to visit. We highly recommend Pine Patch for a magical summer vacation!

Owner's Response: As owners, we only hope for two things: That our guests will have a wonderful time, and that they will treat our lake front property with tender loving care. Sometimes we have great confidence that a given family will be a perfect fit, as was the case here! Congratulations to this beautiful family. They were a perfect match for PINE PATCH. We are grateful.

Great Cottage to Rent!

  • 5 of 5

Pine Patch was a wonderful cottage for us to rent and include our adult children.

Pine Patch was a great choice for us as the separate cabins worked out perfect for our children that brought their significant others with them and offered them their own private space. We were a group of 8 and there was plenty of room for everyone to sit, eat, cook and socialize. Being a cooler summer this year, we REALLY enjoyed sitting around the fire pit each evening for some great conversation, star gazing and planning the next days activities. The sunsets were spectacular, the dock more than large enough to accommodate everyone and there was plenty of area to park 4 cars.

We enjoyed all of our favorite places as well as some wonderful buys at the local shops.

Overall, Pine Patch was a beautiful place to stay and the owner was great to work with with plenty of communication and answers to questions. We would definitely recommend this cottage and location!

Great for Extended Families

  • 5 of 5

My husband, kids & I stayed at Pine Patch for a week in July with my parents and my sister & brother-in-law. The property has a main cabin with two large bedrooms and two smaller cabins, which made it great for our extended families to vacation together. We were able to share meals together, play games, etc, but also able to retreat to our "own" areas when we wanted.

The cottages were clean and well-maintained. The linens provided were very nice and the beds were really comfortable. There is a total of one queen and six twin beds, which would also make this a great place for a girls' weekend get-away (overworked mom talking here). There is plenty of parking for several cars.

We enjoyed a nightly campfire and the views of the sunset. There is a large dock with two benches and steps going into the lake, which was handy for everyone in our party. There is a stairway down to the dock, which worked well for us as we were traveling with young children and the stairs gave them a clear boundry of where they could not wander unattended. Our kids particularly loved the hammocks and campfires. We also rented a pontoon boat and tube from a local marina and had a blast on the lake.

The owner, Chris, was very helpful in answering our questions before and during our stay. I liked the fact that we dealt directly with the owner, rather than a property management company like many other rentals on Lake Leelanau. Other than food and clothes, Pine Patch was well-equiped with most of what we needed during our stay. We brought an extra cooler and regularly replenished it with ice because we had a lot of food and beverages for our large group. We had a minor problem while we were there and the caretaker quickly remedied the situation.

Pine Patch is situated close to Leland, Lake Leelanau, Suttons Bay, and various other charming small towns as well as Traverse City and the Sleeping Dunes National Lakeshore. Being there for a week renewed my love of Northern Michigan. If you haven't traveled to Leelanau County, you are missing out on some great wines, art, festivals, and water sports. Pine Patch will offer you a great "home base" to take it all in.

Owner's Response: Nothing makes us happier than to learn that another family has truly enjoyed our summer family vacation home. And of course, those who appreciate our lake-front property as much as we do, also tend to take care of the property with the same TLC as we do. Just perfect.

Ideal Summer Vacation Spot

  • 5 of 5

I'm the type that loves woodsy seclusion, as long as there are signs of life nearby... and a golf course. Pine Patch was the perfect fit for us. We'd spend the mornings reading books in the hammock, the afternoons swimming or tubing or water skiing (the private dock was such a cool bonus), and then in the evenings we'd drive or cycle on the bikes we brought into the small town called Leland, which is on Lake Michigan.

The family-friendly Bluebird lounge became our favorite watering hole, with delicious pizza, a great beer selection, and a jukebox, pool table, and game room for kids. I also discovered the Leland Country Club, which has a great golf course on the lake.

The exterior cabins on the property were ideal for the kids, and overall we were really impressed with how clean everything was, as well as how easy it was to handle the rental details with the owner, Chris. Thanks for a great stay! We hope to be back again in summer 2010.

Wow, Wow, Wow

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here last year and can't wait to get back again this year. Feels like home away from home, with all the things home does not have. Great view to a die for. You feel like the lake is all yours. Cottage is the wrong word for the warm feeling you get from this place. Quiet, peaceful, secluded but with everything you would want for a fun filled week with for the whole family or just a couple wanting to get away from it all. Can’t wait for the sunsets and cherry pie down on the end of the dock. Thanks for the memories
