When I arrived at the Safari casita, I knew I had found the perfect location for my summer stay in Mesa. The casita was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and well appointed for my extended stay. The casita is located in Las Sendas subdivision in Mesa. I found grocery stores and several restaurants located within an easy and quick drive from the casita. The view from the back pool deck and patio were just wonderful. I spent many mornings drinking my coffee sitting at the pool, and countless evenings sipping a glass of wine enjoying the amazing sunsets. As wonderful as the casita was for me, it was truly made perfect by the owners, Paul and Tristan. If you are considering renting the casita, I highly recommend it. Paul and Tristan, not only made me feel like a valued guest, but also a welcome friend.

Mesa Magic

  • 5 of 5

Prior to leaving for our vacation, there was excellent communication with the rental owners/team. All my questions were answered in a timely fashion and I was made comfortable before I even left for the airport. My boyfriend and I arrived at the Casita the afternoon of May 7, 2015 where our rental vehicle had it's own parking spot. We got settled away and then hit up the nearby grocery store (which was cheap compared to Canadian prices) and bought some food, beer etc. Paul and Tristan, who live in the main house, were eating their supper on the back patio and we were introduced and had a chat. They made us feel right at home and they were very nice and friendly. That evening we relaxed in the hot tub and watched the sunset over the beautifully landscaped back garden.

We took a couple swims in the infinity pool which was a nice escape from the pool-side heat. We had a lot of privacy but knew that Paul and Tristan were close by if we needed anything at all. Paul even let us borrow his personal cooler for a couple day trips we made. In the evening the view reaches all the way into Phoenix which is surreal as you can hear the coyotes howling only a mile or two away. There were hummingbirds, little desert rabbits and adorable Javalina (little piggies) who came to eat our vegetable scraps. I didn't see any snakes on my visit except the one at the wildlife center. Maybe next time.

I'm going to trail off from the rental for a moment just to include some good information about the area of Mesa. The morning after we arrived we went to Arizona Outback Adventures in Scottsdale and rented mountain bikes for use during our trip. Great service. They even included a bike rack. A couple mornings we rode down Las Sendas Mountain and took a right just before Power Road intersection onto a small trail that follows the side of the highway. Then we crossed the road to another trail (at the second steel light post) and back up the BIG hill. Very nice ride in the morning when it isn't too hot. Pemberton Trail at McDowell Mountain Regional Park was also great. This one took over two hours and was more of a workout. I am a beginner and I was able to do both trails. We also rented a boat at Saguaro Lake for an afternoon (only 20-25 mins from the casita).

If you are interested in booking this property, do not hesitate. There is a reason I'm giving it 5 stars. Clean, cozy and has everything from tupperware to a bbq brush. I didn't want to leave! Already planning the next visit :)

Tranquil and homely Paradise.

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at the villa after a long drive and immediately checked out the pool area round the back of the casita. We were lucky enought to arrived just in time for a beautiful sunset, we had a drink and relaxed taking in the gorgeous views over the infinity pool. We had received an email from Tristan explaining that everything around the pool area was for us to use, which we made full use of the beautiful sky chairs. In the casita there was some information on where we could eat locally etc, so we tried out some great restaurants. The casita was immaculate, very clean and homely. The bed is absolutely huge and so comfortable. There is a Tv, (you can watch the tv in bed...for us after a long day was great to watch a film). There is also internet. We stayed for a week, we made use of the BBQ, and the communal pool also. It is a prefect place to relax, and stay in Ariznona. A couple of days in to our holiday we met Paul, he let us know he was easily contactable if we needed anything. We also later met Tristan and we cannot tell you enough how wonderful, warm and friendly these lovely owners are. We felt completely comfortable and relaxed here, we will definitely be visiting again. We felt like it was a home from home, and as. I travel a lot with my job, this couldn't be anymore perfect to get away from the usual moulded hotels. I am sorry too Paul and Tristan that is has taken me a little while to write this review, but hopefully will be seeing you in the new year. Xx

Beautiful vistas, privacy and comfort

  • 4 of 5

We loved this cozy casita! My husband and I love nature and love to hike and this little get away provided easy access to both. When we told our hosts we liked to feed the birds they promptly set up a bird feeder right outside our window. There were a number of hiking trails within walking distance and dozens within a short driving distance. The rental location was very private nestled up against the Tonto National Forest and Usery Mountain yet within 5 minutes we could access all the stores, grocery and restaurants that we wanted.

The unit had a wonderfully comfortable bed and we woke up in the morning to a great mountain view. Two recliners in the seating area provided a bright and comfortable spot to read or work on hobbies. The kitchen was well equipped but very small and is not a good choice if you want to do a lot of cooking-which we didn"t! The sink is just bar sized and there is only a tiny amount of counter space.

The bathroom was very adequate with a great shower area and there was a large closet for everything we brought with us for our two month stay.

We were a bit disappointed because the stunning swimming pool was not heated and it was one of the amenities that we selected this location for. If you are visiting in December through April don't plan on swimming. It was a great place to lay in the sun and the evening sunsets and night time views of the city lights were awesome. The huge porch had great swings to nap or read in, there was a hot tub, and grills to use and lots of wonderful atmosphere.

Paul and Tristan were delightful hosts who bent over backwards to accommodate any requests. We would recommend this site and would definely return if the opportunity presents itself.

Owner's Response: It was wonderful to have you stay. We're sorry you thought the pool was heated. The community pool is heated and we'd have been happy to give you access, though I know it doesn't have the view. Thank you! Update since this guest stayed with us we no have a heated pool and our guests can have that amenity for a daily fee.

Small Slice of Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Our stay here was fantastic. The sitting area provides a wonderful view while still offering a feeling of relative privacy. The light floods the room through the many windows and with or without the TV playing it is a lovely place to pass the time. The main bedroom is dominated primarily by a large, elegant canopy bed. There are no curtains hanging from the frame, but the thick, smooth posts of the canopy offer it enough character without them. The kitchen had everything we could need for the most part, including soap to wash the dishes. The restroom was clean and spacious enough to not feel crowded to us, and the sink was a fun design. The shower and the hall to it were a little smaller, but we still enjoyed their designs.

The back room, which is optional, felt very nicely enclosed and the tiered lighting in the room helped to set a cozy mood or one that was more conducive to planning for our vacation activities. The view from this room was fantastic as well! And did I mention how comfortable the king size beds were? It felt a bit like sleeping on feathers while still having a firm mattress beneath us. The pillows were varied from soft to firm so I imagine anyone could find one to suit their comfort. The blankets and sheets were soft.

There was an outside grill available for us to use, a bench and an outside table we could sit at, and of course the pool. The view from the pool is gorgeous! At Tristan's suggestion we also made sure to catch the sunset out there, and that was breathtaking in its own right.

These owners see to your every need and are very good about communication. I would recommend this casita to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the Mesa, Arizona area!
