I wish we had more time at your lovely, cozy cabin! It feels like home with everything we needed. It's so peaceful!! We loved sitting on the porch just listening to nature while we sipped coffee in the mornings and then just relaxing in the evenings. It's the simple things that you can really slow down and enjoy here at the cabin. We even saw some deer one day. We loved our hike on Mt. Jefferson and the stunning views, especially at sunset. We also drove along the Blue Ridge Parkway to see the Cascades Falls. And the people in town were so friendly. We are so thankful for our stay at your Secluded Hideaway! Thank you for all the fine hospitality and we hope to come back for longer one day!
Home is nicely decorated, close to town, and extremely clean. Recommend to all friends and family.
Our Family had a great time for our long weekend! What a beautiful home ! We have stayed here many times and each time is so nice and comfortable. I really liked the new upgrade to the basement and the new swingset out front. Overall the home is very nice close to the Blue-ridge Parkway and to West Jefferson. It's just a great place to relax. I really like that all the rooms have televisions in them especially when we bring the Grand kids best of all for this trip it SNOWED not much but it was beautiful. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home looking forward to returning soon. Danny and Joan
First visit to "Secluded Hideaway" and we have fallen in love. Wonderful vacation for 9 family members, from 8-85 years old.. Plenty of sleeping accommodations, huge dining table, so comfortable living space, plus pet friendly! Whether we were playing games, sitting around the fire pit, competing in pool tournaments, doing Bible study, fishing down in the river (plus the young ones jumping in), eating or just relaxing on the porch, it was a great vacation for all of us. Already looking forward to planning another visit.
We stayed here 07/23-07/30 2016 ...Rule #1 - If you tried to get this place and it was filled up, just GO AHEAD and reserve it for next year! You WON'T be disappointed. My wife and I tried to get this for our honeymoon in 2014, but it was booked. We booked it for the NEXT summer, but then had family medical issues that required us to miss it. Bill was so kind to move our dates to the next year (2016). We were SO waiting in anticipation for this and we were soooo happy. This area is beautiful and their son Bobby was very nice and told us about all kinds of town activities. We fished right at the end of the road (almost) at the old elk shoals camp, and the town of West Jefferson had fantastic shops (the shop "Sweet and Savory" had the best roasted red pepper soup, oh MAN)...This is a wonderful Christian family and that warmth is all throughout the hideaway. There are HD TVs everywhere with TONS of channels, a Blu ray player (that has Netflix on it so that was a bonus), wireless internet that was strong enough to stream Netflix to my laptop with no issues, a pool table and an airhockey table, and any amenity you could probably think of. There are chairs and swings around the outside of the house (I mean around, 3 of 4 sides has decks) and a fire pit also. 10-15 minutes you are in town, or buy all the food you need and buckle down, its secluded enough to be a fun hangout or a romantic getaway. Bill even called us a few days in to make sure everything was ok. We cannot thank Bill and Audrey enough for this gem, and encourage anybody that wants a wonderful house for the same price as a small hotel room to grab this one...if there's an opening :). WE LOVED IT!!!
We visited the cabin in February 2016 and stayed for a week. We enjoyed every minute of it. We were looking for a quiet place to relax with our 2 boys (4 & 6) and we got more than that. We were also looking to find snow and we sure did. It snowed just about every day we were there. First time our kids got to see snow (Florida boys) so we went and made a snowman in the front yard. Bobby checked on us the day we got there and told us where some tubes are. The road leading up to the house was packed full of snow and made a great tubing area for the kids. We plan on going back same time next year. The home had everything you needed, just needed to pack a bag.
The house is wonderful. Exactly as described. IF you forget to bring something with you it is probably in the house already. Furnishings were very nice. Comfortably beds. Plenty of t.v.s 6 I think. Great furniture on the 3 decks. We enjoyed the river although we did not catch any fish. We found good food at The Winners Circle, The Hillbilly Grill and Statley Springs. There is plenty to do here. And all the Christimas trees are so pretty. We will certainly be going back. Thank you
