About the property

1+ bedroom, 1 full bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, mountain views

What a great place to escape from it all! Sleep in one of our very own hand-hewn log cabins situated on 232 acres of land. Walk into a charming country kitchen, fully equipped with everything you need to make a romantic dinner or just relax in the cozy living area with your favorite book by the wood-burning stove.

Early summer evenings are best enjoyed while rocking on the covered porch with a glass of cool lemonade watching the wind rustle through the leaves as deer graze nearby.

If you are the more adventurous type; enjoy a stroll down to the pond and ride on the paddle boat perhaps catching a glimpse of the wild geese and Mallards who visit there, or hike one of our many, beautiful woodland trails. Picnics are 'a must' with the outdoor grills and picnic tables we provide.

Rest, relax and enjoy your vacation in one of the most serene and beautiful settings Vermont has to offer. Your vacation to Birch Meadow will be one of your most treasured memories!

The property is gorgeous. Tucked away in a wooded area - we got there as it was snowing - PERFECT!

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived, we talked to Mary and she was extremely nice and welcoming. The cottage was prestine with everything you would need for cooking/baking and showers. There were also extra linens on top of the furnished beds. There were clear instructions on how to use the wood burner as well as a binder with detailed information about local restaurants and tourist areas. The cottage was cozy and gave the quintessential experience of staying in a cabin in the woods.

Charming cabins in a perfectly remote location

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our long weekend in the “Bear’s Den” cabin. It truly is a luxury log cabin with all the necessary amenities, and adorably bear themed. The location was perfect, the property is gorgeous and Mary is nothing short of gracious hostess, we felt right at home.

Cozy and Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

Great place to curl up to a fireplace and enjoy some quality time. Near lots of towns and activities and the owner is very kind and accommodating. Nice pond just down the way from the cabin. Will definitely return.

Quiet and comfortable

  • 4 of 5

Nice quiet, comfortable cabin. Beautiful property.

Unfortunately I had to shorten my stay for personal reasons.

Mary was very kind and courteous. The Bears Den was very private and comfortable.

The only suggestion I would have for the property manager would be to use a non scented laundry detergent and fabric softener for the towels and linens. ( good idea for guests that are more sensitive like myself) Besides that I would absolutely recommend Birch Meadow to a friend.

Owner's Response: Hi Henry. So sorry you had to shorten your stay with us because of personal problems. I wish I had known before your arrival that you had a sensitivity problem I would have made sure the laundry was handled differently. Hope to have you visit at another time. Mary

Exactly what we hoped for

Quaint cabin with a lake 50 yards away. We were able to get gorgeous fall colors and family photos in the area. Would highly recommend!

Perfect vacation get-a-way

  • 5 of 5

We spent five days in this lovely cabin. It was clean and comfortable. We loved having a kitchen to cook some home cooked meals. The property is also beautiful. We enjoyed several walks in the beautiful forest area. There was a pancake mix and Vermont syrup waiting for us - a sweet surprise. Also home made cookies mid way through our stay. Mary is very personable and helpful if you need info about the area - and also gives you privacy to enjoy your stay. Penny shows up every day to bring fresh towels and dispose of your trash - also very personable.

We loved the location. We were away from big city life but close enough to take day trips all over central Vermont each day.

This place was a real highlight of our trip to the New England area.
