Guestbook comments from the owner

My wife and I are thrilled to offer this brand new rental listing. We built the home just a few years ago, and we are excited to offer to others the enjoyment this home has brought to us. We hope you enjoy this serene retreat as much as we have. Safe travels.

Perfect serene setting

  • 5 of 5

We are just a few days into our 2 week vacation at this lovely cabin...with our daughter and family including 2 grandchildren. Absolutely love the out door setting, grassy play area for little ones and spa. It is such a peaceful setting and love all the amenities. Son in law figured out the tv in a minute or two and so I was able to put on Disney for grandchildren. We bbq'd on the 4th and played games in yard with other family staying on the next block! The house is a very nice cozy set up and comfortable. Short walk to dock and PDQ. The comment about dark cabin might mean the dimmer switch for bathrooms and other rooms not discovered...move the switch and rooms are bright!! The lake is beautiful and the weather is perfect!

Well-appointed home in nice neighborhood-cozy but very dark

  • 3 of 5

This home was nicely designed with many features including granite counter-tops in kitchen, dishwasher, gas stove, wood-burning fireplace, hot tub and decent beds. The kitchen is tiny and the furniture is just okay. A two story with 3 bedrooms it has several "nooks" that were good for reading or watching a movie if you can figure out how to use the equipment. We gave up after 40 minutes and 2 tries. The full page description of how to work the TV/VCR would be better replaced with updated equipment. No one wants to settle down for a half hour learning experience just to watch a DVD....there were no less than 5 remotes to deal with. But the biggest reason I would never rent this house again is that it is dark, dark, dark. Almost like a bear cave. The house is surrounded by large conifers which are undeniably lovely. There are plenty of windows...so why? The lighting fixtures, dark furnishings, knotty pine walls and the choice of bulbs maybe...it was impossible to see anything in the bathrooms and that left us frustrated...I had to carry a lamp around to do most routine things. And it was plenty sunny when we were there. Also, there are no views, no vistas and no outside seating...the hot tub was literally at the end of a staircase that was the side entrance to the house. So this is perfect if you like that kind of cozy, den-like feeling with no real outside space to relax. Nice neighborhood for walking and close by to a park for cross country. Not really close to skiing at Squaw/Alpine as 89 is often backed up...

A gem of a home - not just a rental cabin - on the West Shore

  • 5 of 5

What I loved most upon first walking into this cabin is that it isn't a cliche rental cabin that was decked out by someone at the "Buy bears for the Tahoe Cabin" store. It had been furnished by a family who had lived there with nice art on the walls and some personal touches. And it had such good energy.

The house, while only 3 bedrooms, has significant space and depending on how you divided up rooms I think you could easily fit two or three families.

The rules of the home were standard - nothing over the top or weird. We will hopefully stay here again!

Beautiful, cozy home

We had such a great time in this beautiful home. Outside and inside was absolutely gorgeous! The hot tub is super to have, and they had everything available to cook and really make ourselves at home. Will definitely book again!

Cutest cabin with a plethora of snow

  • 5 of 5

My family (2 adults, 2 children, 1 baby) was well accommodated in this cute, beautifully built cabin. We enjoyed our view from the big glass windows in the living room and from the hot tub, while our children played in the snow and sled down hills. We didn't have to leave the house to have a blast in the snow. The fireplace is beautiful!!! We enjoyed sitting in front of it and playing checkers. I didn't have to worry about our baby on the stairs, because of the built in baby gates. The house is extremely family friendly. We can't wait to come back during the summer and again in the winter. Thank you for your hospitality.
