The Brainerd lakes area is also known as Minnesotas resort capital and home to many championship golf courses. The property is available year around and is a great place for winter sports. There are many groomed snowmobile & cross country ski trails close by. Ice fishing is also popular with small villages of ice fishing houses springing up on the lakes when the lakes ice over.

Perfect spot on a quiet lake! The pontoon made it the quintessential lake experience! Loved the wide open floor plan, wraparound deck and great driveway! Thank you!!

Relaxing Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We appreciated Dave sharing his beautiful lake home with us! We had 5 adult sized people and 3 child sized kiddos sharing a very spacious home with room to easily accommodate more. We also rented the pontoon which accomplished our goal of fresh fish for supper. The home has a park like front yard and a lake shore just yards off the back deck! The owners and property managers were easy to work with and quick to respond to any questions that arose. We hope to be able to return and possibly explore the small towns and neat lil shops, but then again, we may just want to stay put and enjoy the serenity!

Wonderful, Spacious Home on a Quiet Lake

  • 5 of 5

We had a great family week at this lake home. The pictures don't do it enough justice. It is a very nice home and had plenty of pace to easily sleep our family of 10 (seven adults, three kids), and could have fit a few more without a problem. The yard is quite large, including a fire pit down by the lake, with firewood provided. The lake is fairly small and quiet, which I view as a plus, yet plenty large enough for tubing and water skiing. The fishing was great as well for bass and good size sunfish. Swimming was OK but not great off the dock, but there is a nice shallow sandy-bottom area to go to across the lake by the inlet from the other lake. We also like to jump off the boat in the middle of the lake, and the lake is plenty deep for that. We brought our own boat (note: the inlet into the lake is shallow but passable), but there is a pontoon for rent. David was excellent to work with, very responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. We have rented several different lake homes in this area in recent years, and this was our favorite.

Very enjoyable stay at this lakehome

  • 5 of 5

This lake home suited our needs perfectly! Very large and spacious home with air conditioning allowed us to feel right at home. Plenty of storage for groceries, seating for meals, open areas to relax, and parking for everyone. Really convenient location, the lake was beautiful, and with the wonderful pontoon, we enjoyed every minute. Loons, ducks, and a bald eagle visited daily. Large veranda out back was a favorite place for games and an Elvis entertainer. Best vacation, ever!

Family celebration

  • 5 of 5

We rented this property July 2 - 9, 2011. We were celebrating an anniversary so our whole family was in

attendance (15). We had a wonderful time, everything was as expected. The rooms were very roomy, just as in the pictures. Large driveway to acccomodate all our cars. The weather was hot and humid all week, thats when the pontoon was really appreciated, the lake was warm and clear for swimming, and floating on water toys. Some enjoyed the area golf courses, we dined at the Lonsome Pine, very good food. We spent a lot of time on the beautiful deck, and cooked hot dogs on the grill on the fire pit, along with good ole smore's. We would recomend this property to anyone looking for a good time, with plenty of room. The owner was very helpful in answering any questions we had, and the best part

was it was not very far from the city.

Family Vacation July 24 - July 31 2010

  • 5 of 5

Everything was perfect. We loved the layout of the house and the large yard for badmitton and other yard games. The lake was so warm and clear for snorkeling and tubing that we went every day. The location of the house was perfect for shopping or just running to the bait shop. We all would recommend this home to anyone looking for the perfect family get-away.

About The Owner

We are native Minnesotans who moved to Washington state in the mid 90's . We grew up enjoying the summers and the lakes of our home state and had both dreamed of owning a vacation property there someday. We have many family members in Minnesota and this large home has been a wonderful place to gather.

The Owner purchased this house in 2008

Why The Owner chose Deerwood

We enjoy this area because of the water activities and great golfing nearby. It is also a convenient place to get to from the minneapolis airport.

What makes this house unique

The resident loon and eagles on this lake never fail to inspire us. Our property is around 2 acres filled with oak trees and in a rural ,peaceful setting.
