This one bedroom/one bathroom apartment about 450 square feet is located on the second floor of a Townhouse located on 25th Street between Third Avenue and Second Avenue.
Entering in the apartment, you are directly in the air-conditioned main room. It has cream color painted walls and a brick wall, hard wood floor and one window providing light. This room is furnished with 2 microfiber full size sofa beds, a cappuccino coffee table, a cappuccino dining table with 4 chairs, a cable flat screen TV, internet and a phone.
The open kitchen is equipped with a sink, a stove, a refrigerator, oven, a microwave, a dishwasher, a cookware, cupboards, coffee maker and dishes.
The air-conditioned Bedroom has a queen size bed, a night stand and a 3 large closets.
The bathroom is equipped with a sink, a shower, a toilet, washer/dryer and a mirror.
Transportation: 6 train on 23rd Street and Park Avenue. 2 Blocks from the apartment.
Neighborhood: the area is known as Gramercy. It is a residential area, close to everything. On Third Avenue you can find some lovely restaurants ( Bar Milano, Starbucks, Pick a Bagel), a few bars, delis and grocery stores.
The unit location proved to be excellent for everything we wanted, close to transport when required and very close to some excellent restaurants, markets and bars. Although we found the unit a bit on the small side it was OK for two visitors (and family) to NYC, unit owners went out of their way to make our stay very enjoyable.
I had a NYC girl's weekend planned, luckily found this apartment and it was available. This apartment fit all of our needs! It was convenient for cabs, restaurants and bars. Buses are easily accessible, and the subway is only approx a 5-6 block walk, so very easy as long as you are not car dependent.
This is a junior 1 bedroom, with two couches that fold out, and so it comfortably slept 4 of us, and it would have been fine for 6 also!
Since this is an apartment and not a hotel, remember the shampoo, soap, hair dryer, etc. 4 girls and we forgot to bring soap, but luckily, there was a CVS right around the corner, so that was a problem very easily solved!
We much preferred this method of travel because we were able to bring home leftovers, go to the store and pick up gatorade and alcohol and have a fridge to store it all. Heating up leftovers for breakfast is a great option, but honestly, all of the restaurants in the area were wonderful also.
The listing description was definitely accurate in regards to location, the photos were fairly accurate, although the furniture was a little different, likely because the owner has multiple apartments he rents out. This wasn't a big deal to me as the functionality was the same and most important. The property was very clean and well-maintained and thank god the air conditioning worked since it was so hot when we were visiting!! The owner was extremely helpful when I had questions and was available via cell phone and I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone who is looking to enjoy some time in the city!
All of my friends and I easily agreed that the next time we travel to NYC, this will be our preferred place to stay! Enjoy!!
Stayed at this Gramecy 1 bedroom for a three nights early June - had a wonderful stay!
The apartment itself was the perfect size for my husband and I. It was clean and well maintains and the kitchen was equipped with all that was needed for breakfast and a late night ramen noodle fix!
The best part about the apartment however is LOCATION! You can get to all the great neighborhoods by walking 20 mins or less. The neighborhood the apt is in is great as well - lots of restaurants, bars and grocery shops just down the street. If you are not into walking (!) – the subway is just down the street.
Thanks Benny for being so responsive before, during and after our stay! All in all a great experience!
**A couple of things to note though - the ac is LOUD and the bedroom could use some black out blinds (it is bright starting 600AM!) No toiletries, dish soap, etc provided.**
I stayed here for a week on business, the place is a half block from a grocery store, pizza shop, 3 or 4 bars, and like 10 restaurants. Its also about 3 blocks from the N,Q,R and the 4,5,and 6 and madison square park and the flatiron building are right there as well. The shake shack in MSP is to die for. Overall this place has it all. Great deal and stay!!!!
The description is very accurate: this is a great location, close to subways and many NY attractions. Six of us stayed in the apartment, which was recently remodeled, everything was new, clean, very well maintained, creative and friendly taste in the decor. I would use this location again in future NY visits and my all means recommend it.
We were staying here at the end of March 2010. Cozy apartment, excellent location, close to everything. Flat was just "refreshed" before our arrival with new furniture, paint... Everything was brand new and very clean. Close to it, at 29th street and Park ave is "Bread & Butter " deli opened 24h with delicious food.
Would recommend :)
